We stayed for three nights in a private room at the front of the hostel. It is in a fantastic location on the main square, minutes walk away from lovely bars and restaurants. The hostel has great communal spaces - living room, kitchen diner and a fantastic garden. The staff were all very friendly (although limited English). The only negatives comments are that the foam mattresses were very tired and the kitchen equipment was maybe a bit limited if you wanted to cook properly. There was however a large fridge to store your own food. Breakfast was good and plentiful (help yourself to juice, toast, jam, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc). We stayed mid week in September so actually had the place to ourselves for all but the first night

Clean and cheap, in a good location, with a manager who tries to help (but Spanish only, so may be difficult for you if you speak no Spanish), but I can't recommend it. "Private room" was really just an empty 4 person dorm with no lock on the door to the room. Beds weren't comfortable and linens and towels were threadbare. Breakfast was toast with spreads and Nescafé. No staff on site (they will meet you there to check in, bring breakfast, etc. but no full time front desk). It had the least ambiance of any hostels we stayed at. But, as previously mentioned, it's cheap and clean, it just falls short compared to the many wonderful hostels around Argentina, so I consider it below average for that reason.

Positive: Great location .. Negative: We tried two types of the room (because of lack of the accomodation in the town during carnival). Poor Wi-fi throughout the whole hostel. Private room with shared bathroom: Very dirty bathroom. Room can't be locked! Shared room: Room can't be locked! No possibility of locking personal things (just two boxes for room for 8 people). Only one (!!!) socket in the whole room!.

A good location on a lovely tree filled square, plus a very pleasant and peaceful garden at the back. Breakfast OK if you like toast and instant coffee. Staff pleasant and friendly. ||BUT if you book online be sure to book in Argentine pesos. We booked with US$ showing on the site never thinking it would matter as Areco say they only accept payment in local curency, and we knew the peso price. The booking site the peso price to US$ at the official rate, but Areco insisted on converting it back at the black market rate, rather than just charging us the peso price, adding 86 pesos a night to our bill. They would not budge on this even when shown the price in pesos. BEWARE! Book in Pesos. (see photo of bill for 5 nights in private room with shared bathroom at off season rate. Should have been less than 1400 pesos)||Probably would have scored higher but for this, though beds a bit sad.

The best location, right on the square and close to shops, restaurants, etc. We stayed in a lovely, big, airy room at the front with a view across the square. Everything was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was simple and gave us a chance to meet other guests. Very friendly welcome - would recommend!

My friend and I booked a room here online a couple of months ago. We got into town, went to the hostel and no one answered the bell. Saw the sign, said hours 8:30 to 12:30, 4:30 to 8. We arrived at 2 so took some time in the park and went back for 4:30. Rang the bell, still no answer. Waited a good 10 minutes, no one showed up. Ended up going somewhere else.

I stayed there with a large group (10 people). They closed the house for us, so it was like having the house for us. Place is really nice and cozy.
