Fantastic experience in Rio with this hotel. Feels very luxurious without the high costs. It’s extremely safe with several safety precautions in a great location with direct beach access. The breakfast was great and included so many options. Staff knew our names and were extremely helpful! When I left something on a tour bus, the front desk held it for me to pick up. When I left my charger in the room, Esther had it saved in a bag with our room number in it. Leonardo helped us with a last minute party of 10 reservations at a Michelin recommended restaurant. Sara extended our checkout time in order for us to have a shower and change of clothes after our tour. The service level is top notch. Better than many luxury brands I have stayed. All in all great hotel with a nice room and view. Highly recommend!

Excellent location for Rio with only short walks to both beaches. Good selection of Brazilian food at breakfast. We would have liked coffee/tea making facility in the room, but otherwise everything was very good. The rooftop bar area is extremely relaxing for getting away from the beach crowds, although the lounges look a little tired and the materially stretched making them uncomfortable. The bar food on the roof was excellent, and the prices in general are much cheaper than most hotels around the world. The Reception staff are extremely helpful and we even extended our checkout time by two hours with no extra charge. Excellent location for walking around Rio. Would definitely recommend and come back again in the future

The location of the hotel is perfect right inbetween Copacabana and Ipanema Beach. The staff are friendly and security are always on hand so you feel safe in the hotel. However, there are some factors that really let the hotel down. ||You aren't allowed to fill your water bottles and, we didn't realise until we checked out, the water left in the fridge is charged. This is really poor as water is usually provided at 3 star hotels, nevermind a 4 star. ||The food at the rooftop bar is great however the roof terrace needs some work. There isn't any shade for the sunloungers and extremely limited comfortable space under shade. Therefore, you can't spend much time up there.||There are also no tea and coffee making facilties in the room. Also, can hear everything from the neighbouring rooms.||Overall a decent hotel for what it is. A good base.

Arena Ipanema is an excellent choice for a hotel stay. Nice clean rooms. Included breakfast is a nice bonus. Great location, quick walk to Ipanema Beach, a lot of restaurants nearby. Staff was very nice from check in to check out (including housekeeping). They were quick to address the sudden loud noise coming from guests upstairs. The young lady at the front desk always had a genuine ready smile whenever we passed by. Shout out to David Santos who would stay with us outside and chatted as we waited for Uber. You can tell he genuinely loved interacting with the hotel guests. We highly recommend this hotel.

Google
Arena Ipanema is a 3-star hotel - not a 4-* as advertised. The rooms are extremely small and offer no basic comforts — no coffee or tea, and no robe or slippers for the pool. Breakfast is composed of terrible coffee, and poor-quality food overall. From outlets to shower fixtures, there were a lot of already broken things in the room. ||The positives are the location (great access to Ipanema and Arpoador) and a check-in, cleaning and cafeteria service. Beyond that, it’s all downhill. Atmosphere, not sure if there is any. Noise level was average. You can hear people circulating close to the room. ||For the price charged, this hotel offers low value. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere — there are much better options in Ipanema and Copacabana for the same or lower rate. |For the management: Clear lack of maintenance. Please review rooms

Google
The staff were lovely, including the receptionists, cleaners and F&B personnel, and the location was unbeatable. Also, the decor was very attractive. But the facilities themselves were well below average. A lack of thought meant basic things were not provided. No shampoo or conditioner in the shower, just two different shower gels - how are you meant to wash your hair? No antibacerial handsoap by the sink, just yet more shower gel - not hygenic. Dental kits were unavailable, even for a fee that I would not have minded paying. There was no iron in the room. Neither were there tea or coffee-making facilities. (If not a machine, the modern international traveller would expect a kettle with some instant sachets at the very least). The minibar had only full-sugar cokes or still waters inside. No snacks, no sugar-free options, and no booze. The most incomplete minibar I have seen anywhere. The gym was too small for any more than two people to work out at once. The swimming pool was diminuitive. These features had clearly been added for the perfunctory purpose of being able to list them on the hotel's marketing. The breakfast buffet offered no whole or unprocessed meats, just ultra processed chorizo stirred with onions - even bacon or normal sausages would have been better, if marginally more expensive for the procurement-team to source. The filter coffee was bitter, but drinkable. Overall, despite the amazing customer-facing staff and beautiful location, I could not recommend the Arena Ipanema to any of my friends as it does not merit the price associated with a four-star property.

Great hotel. Always clean and great place near the beach. Everything was perfect. I will come back to Arena Ipanema Hotel next time I go back to Rio. Staff members were really helpful and with great attitude. Highly recommend this hotel.

Google
Labeling this as a four-star hotel is a joke. Rooms are adequate at best, air conditioning controls don’t work properly, and breakfast is substandard with staff that is slow, unfriendly, and appears to hate their jobs! So many 5-star reviews? Do these people really exist and if they do, have they ever stayed at a hotel before and are we even talking about the same hotel?

Yelp
Terrible. I would avoid it at all cost. I had a horrible experience with this hotel. I booked it for 3 nights for almost $900 USD. Unfortunately, I could not travel to Brazil due to a very recent visa requirement for US citizens.  With the help of hotels.com I managed to cancel the booking. This hotel categorically refused to give me a single penny back. I am business savvy and understand the inconvenience of last minute cancellations on a business like this. However, there is a fine line here. Under the circumstances, I would have deemed a partial refund more than fair. But simply pocketing every single penny under the excuse of a cancellation policy is simply a disguised form of theft. It is short term greedy and not a good business practice

Yelp
Obsessed with this hotel. Small but nice rooms. Comfortable beds, strong air conditioning, an amazing rainfall shower head. Very modern and hip. The staff was kind, and the breakfast is delicious and has a decent amount of variety. Right by the beach and there is a rooftop pool and bar as well.

Yelp
We chose this as our base for our first Rio visit, it was a great choice! Modern and clean, very nice service with English speaking front desk staff, very good location right by the corners of the 2 major beaches. The adjacent park isn't as pretty in person, but it's a major hub for people coming and going to the beach and the viewpoint out on the rocks nearby, which is a great sunset point. The breakfast was generous and varied daily. The attached restaurant wasn't seeing much business when we were there in May, and we had the whole place to ourselves one night when we decided to dine it, and it was quite good. The local tours picked us up here, easy access to walk to Ipanema.

Yelp
The management of this hotel was very unreasonable. I had COVID so I canceled my non-refundable reservation. I didn't even ask for a refund, just credit for a future stay. I would have gladly stayed there in the future and spent even more money at the property. Their location does not make up for poor management. I say AVOID Arena Ipanema Hotel.

Yelp
We just got back from an anniversary trip to Rio and my husband and I stayed at Arena Ipanema Hotel. We stayed for 8 days and really enjoyed ourselves. The staff is great and make your stay very enjoyable! The pool is small but the seating area is a decent size with good views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. When you first walk in, you can't help but notice the fresh, clean smell, which was nice. The hotel seems to be fairly new and everything is modern inside. The continental breakfast is fabulous, with an array of fruits, breads, meat, cheese, and even some hot foods. The fruit juice are super fresh and coffee was delicious! We definitely would stay there again!

Yelp
We where treated like royalty. The staff at the front desk and breakfast was outstanding and this is our home hotel every time we come to Rio. Also Thank You Guillerme at the front desk- his service was exceptional!
