Arenal Backpackers Resort

Overall okay- rooms were clean and felt safe, we stayed in a solo tent. Staff was not overly helpful. Parking area was an absolute mud pit - was very rainy but they did nothing to mitigate the mud. Location is directly next to a loud and busy dance club- made it hard to sleep at night. Probably worth upgrading to a budget hotel in a quieter location.

Loved this place, had the cutest pool and was in a great spot. My only issue is that the AC wasn't turned on until 10pm which was late for those of us who like to go to bed early hehehe. But other than that, the breakfast was great, and the staff were very helpful. They made us feel very safe here as well. Would come back!

Worst accommodation of my life, I have traveled to 48 countries and stayed in 223 hotels. This was the worst! Don't go, you will be treated with a lot of disrespect. I booked 4 days, stayed only one and left, I lost money for the 3 days and it was the best option. Disrespect to all guests, this is not a hotel. Choose another one, don't go because you will regret it like I do

Easy to find. Easily accessible. Welcoming and helpful staff. Helped us even though we were early. Pool looked/was inviting. Multiple places to get food/drink. Wonderful location with great views of the volcano and surrounding forest.

Nice place with huge garden and pool. The rooms are really nice and something special as you won’t find these kind of rooms in a lot of hotels. When we arrived there were not a lot of other travelers there, but it was also in the off-season, so probably more guest in main season.

My stay here was amazing! When I booked the pods I didn’t realize I had to pay for 2 rooms if I wanted to stay in a pod. When I got there and explained they were very understanding and allowed me to have free drinks & food & also tours! Although I didn’t get a refund what they offered instead fully made up for it :) The privacy of the pod was exactly what I needed. The showers were very clean and close by! Pool was great as well! 10/10 experience.

We had an amazing stay! Stayed in one of the cylinders it was small but plenty of storage under bed and perfect place to stay if you plan on being out and about a lot. Everything was super clean staff was super friendly and the pool was amazing! Only thing is it was pretty empty so not very social. Although we did go during the wet season so it might be different in the summer!
