Arenal Volcano Inn

The Arenal Volcano Inn is located halfway between the town of La Fortuna and the hot springs of Tabacón. We were attracted by a "Yuplón" promotion which included breakfast and dinner. The hotel was an excellent value. It features spacious rooms and well-maintained grounds and gardens with fruit trees and songbirds. There was a lookout tower behind our room. The restaurant food was fine though nothing special. Thew weather was rainy- hardly the hotel's fault. Service was attentive- the staff came to replace the TV's cable box which wasn't working. Noise level was acceptable except for moments when some heavy trucks struggled to climb the slope of the adjacent highway.

We stayed here for a small portion of our honeymoon and loved it! We booked through anywhere.com and didn't really have any expectations, but we really enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, proximity to activities and restaurants, and the friendly staff. We arrived from the airport after 2am and there was a staff member waiting to show us right to our room, where there was a cute surprise set up to congratulate us. The restaurant food was delicious and the wait staff was very kind and helpful. The pool is lovely, there is a small trail to a lookout with a lovely view, and when the clouds clear you can see the volcano from almost anywhere on the property.

Great place to stay, with nice, comfortable and very equiped rooms. The restaurant offers delicious food at good prices. It is 5 minutes away from the best hot springs. Totally recommended hotel 10/10. Hotel workers are very attentive and kind.

Arenal Volcano Inn was a beautiful place to stay. The location is very close to many of the tours (zip line, ATV, Sloth tour, hot springs). The view of the volcano out our casita window was incredible and the staff lovely. Breakfast was a bonus! We loved the pool and hot tub after hiking and the bar and front desk staff were so kind, helpful, and lovely. I highly recommend this inn!

We booked it through Airbnb and we were so happy with it! It’s a hidden gem! The location is dreamy, it’s very clean and has lots of greenery all around. We felt like we could stay in the hotel and that alone would give us a great experience of La Fortuna. There are two pools (for adults and kids) and a jacuzzi. We swam in both, you can get big pool towels at the reception. Lots of people were swimming there, it’s a very nice and clean pool that lights up in the evening. Rooms were very spacious and clean. We got a crib for the baby which was waiting for us upon the check in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hernan was always available and made sure things were running smoothly in the hotel and at the restaurant. Now about the restaurant. The food was amazing! We had breakfast and also tried their dinner menu as part of the Que Bueno restaurant (extra charge, a la carte). Breakfast options were changing daily. We had meat balls, shredded chicken, chorizo, puncakes, plantain, gallo pinto, fruits, eggs, pastries - everything was delicious! The only minor inconvenience was Wi-Fi, it kept disappearing time to time but we still managed to get a few things done, it’s just not very reliable if you need to work or have a Teams call, for example. In our opinion, it’s a 5/5 stay and food! Would definitely recommend and come back there.

While the location is unique the rooms are pretty basic, old and run down. The highlights are the restaurant view (food is awful) and the activities.

Absolutely wonderful. My husband and I spent our honeymoon here, and it was perfect. The staff were all kind and helpful. Would 100% recommend.
