Arenas Beach Hotel

The location is the best on the island. Beautiful beach with shaded areas available and a beach bar. Chelsea was the best server, always working hard with a friendly smile. That can’t be said about the rest of the staff. Definitely stay in the main building. We initially booked the cabins and asked to be moved after 1 loud night which they nicely accommodated. There are 4 rooms in the cabin with paper thin walls, this isn’t properly stated online and the porch area is shared with 4 other rooms. The hotel rooms are much nicer, bigger bathrooms and quiet. Vondel the hotel driver was amazing, very helpful and friendly.

It's got the nicest beach on Corn Island, with thatched shelters and beach chairs, and a (pricey) bar and restaurant. In fact, maybe you should just visit for the day and pay the entry fee, which counts toward food and drink consumption. The hotel looks nice on the outside, but what appear to be individual cottages contain four rooms each, with wooden dividers. You'll hear your neighbors, for sure, and not everything works, such as the room safes. There's an airport shuttle, but no other amenities.

Great location with beautiful beach and nice rooms but unfortunately the walls are super thin so you won’t get any sleep. Some of the staff are super rude and act like you are hassling them when you ask for something. The bar and restaurant charge 3x the price compared to other places. $30+ for lobster for example instead of $10 at other places. $6 beers vs $2 at other places Overall it has great potential but it’s let down by some rude staff and over priced bar and restaurant. TL:DR = It’s not worth the cost

We stayed here early December 2024. The place is awesome as of location, beach accessibility and stay. Our bungalow was clean, private and safe. However, we consider that the food was overpriced. There are other places on the island owned by the locals with better food options and at reasonable prices, plus you’re actually helping them too. Breakfast was included with our reservation and it was okay. You can get your hair braided while enjoying the beach there from 5 to 30 dollars depending on the style you choose. Enjoy aquatic activities for around 30 to 35 dollars but they might depend on the weather. We visited Little Corn Island to do snorkeling there, but the ocean didn’t let us as the current was too strong. The trip there was heavy—would not recommend it to someone with back problems or who is pregnant.

I have only spent one night at the Arenas hotel and I am glad it was only that one night. For the price, there are much better and cheaper options, aka Paraiso, Sunset Bay or Canada Place. Arenas hotel is located in a great location, right at the best beach on the island, Arenas Beach. The hotel itself is ok and rooms are clean and spacious, bed was comfortable and we did have hot water in the shower. However, it seemed to me that the staff just honestly could not be bothered to care about any level of customer service. Anytime we tried to talk to them, they seemed annoyed and unwilling to help. The bar staff at the beach bar is nice but extremely slow. The Wi-Fi barely worked during our stay which was quite unfortunate.

The rooms were ok. The beach location is beautiful, but the customer service needs to improve a lot, the hotel was full, and they only had 1 bartender and 2 waitresses for all the people. We ordered food and had to wait more than 1 hour to get it served. For the drinks I had to stand up and go directly and ask for it, since they never go to your table to follow up if you need anything else.

They have a nice beach and bars but the service was horrible, it took forever for the waitress to come over, many times, I ended up going up to the bar to order and even then, it was slow getting my food or drinks. The bars are also quite loud and we could hear them even though we were in the room furthest away. TBH it seems like the workers simply didn’t care all that much about the customers as most of our concerns/questions were met with disinterest. On a positive note, for those who stayed at the hotel and complained about not having hot water, there is, just turn the handle to the right.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Arenas Hotel on Corn Island, and while the location and setting had their charms, my experience was unfortunately marred by some significant issues.||First, let’s talk about the atmosphere. The hotel has a delightful beach vibe that is truly inviting. Each shared bungalow is equipped with hammocks right in front, providing the perfect spot to relax and soak in the tropical surroundings. However, the comfort of the accommodations left much to be desired. The beds were incredibly hard, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.||The biggest disappointment, though, was the level of service. I found the attentiveness of the staff to be lacking, which was surprising given the beautiful setting. Restaurant staff often seemed disinterested and at times even annoyed when we made simple requests. For example, asking for sugar for our coffee during breakfast felt like a chore for them, and there were instances when they simply walked away without addressing our needs. It's puzzling why basic items like sugar weren't already on the tables during breakfast service.||In summary, while the beach vibes and the setting of Arenas Hotel are wonderful, the hard beds and lackluster service significantly detracted from my stay. With some improvements in staff training and guest interactions, this hotel could truly be a gem on Corn Island.
