"With its pristine beaches, emerald lagoons, and wildlife-filled jungles, Manuel Antonio National Park is considered one of the world’s most beautiful natural wonders. There’s no better place from which to explore it than the five-star Arenas del Mar, an 11-acre hotel and reserve that’s set atop rain-forested cliffs overlooking the Pacific and delivers just the right amount of luxury within walking distance of the park. (Just don’t be surprised to cross paths with the occasional monkey, sloth, crab, or iguana.) The rooms on the upper level have ocean views and feature hot tubs on large terraces; beachfront rooms are a particularly good choice for families with children thanks to easy access to the lower pool and the casual Playitas Restaurant. But the resort is also an unexpected culinary beacon, serving sustainable dock-to-dish seafood caught by local fisherman that morning and certified gluten-free options alongside traditional Costa Rican specialties."

Had an amazing family vacation with two teens at Arenas Del Mar for eight nights – our goal was to relax and enjoy the beach, rainforest, and city without spending all our time driving around and this resort delivered. Before our trip I corresponded with Lucretia at the concierge desk about the types of things we wanted to do during our stay and she booked our transportation to and from the airport as well as surfing lessons, an adventure tour, fishing trip, and transportation to Manuel Antonio national park. Communication was great and this took any stress out of planning on my end. Transportation from the airport to hotel was a 3hr comfortable ride. We showed up at the hotel in the midst of a big storm but were escorted to our room safe and dry by Christian, one of many of the staff who were the highlight of our stay. Everything at the resort was outstanding but standouts were the hotel staff, Amigos del Rio Adventure Park, and surfing lessons steps from the resort. At Playitas beach Diango and the rest of the crew helped us safely navigate the surf and hosted activities like painting and boogie boarding lessons. Food by chef David was spectacular, including cooking the fresh catch from our fishing excursion to perfection. The grounds were beautiful and we saw more animals at the hotel than at the national park. Thank you to all of the staff who made our vacation so memorable!

One of my best vacations ever! Complete relaxation, comfortable big rooms, incredible views and nature. The breakfast options were brilliant, the beach restaurant also very nice. The staff seemed to be working 24/7 for a week and were super accommodating. The beach isn’t perfect for swimming due to current and a few rocks, but great for walking, enjoying the gorgeous nature and just to relax. The massages and facial we got were also very good. Highly recommended - we will be back here.

Our stay here was fabulous. The views of the ocean were amazing. They had beach chairs and bar service on the beach. We saw lots of animals: iguana, crabs, agouti, monkeys, and even a boa constrictor! From our room window, an iguana came everyday to see us and sunbathe. The staff was top notch. They were always very helpful and kind. I booked all our tours through the hotel. Julian was our guide for two of the tours and he was very good and nice. The Nauyaca waterfall tour was the best! The breakfast was delicious. They had a lot of variety on their menu. Their transport service to local restaurants was way better than calling a taxi. Loved the golf cart service to get you around the property. We will definitely come back! Thank you so much for a lovely vacation.

TRUE 5 star experience! The beach is sooo secluded and feels like a paradise. Macaws on the almond trees by the beach. You may also see monkeys come by the pool. Food service is outstanding and servers going out of the way to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Everything is special. There are life guards always on duty which makes it feel safe.

Great place for relaxing and family time. The hotel will set up fishing guides at Quepos marina and all other excursions. Hotel provides transportation (extra cost) to and from Manuel Antonio for dining and shopping. Staff works extremely hard for the guests. Their small cove is private but Espadilla Beach is next door for a public beach with surfing and food truck options.

The food was great, the hotel is beautiful but the best thing above all is the staff! I have never seen so many amazing smiles in my entire life. The servers, concierge, drivers♡, and housekeeping were all so professional and warm (Pura Vida)! You all will forever be our hearts! Love, Tiffany and Paul.

This resort is a top tier experience! Every staff was friendly, kind and was able to assist with every question we had. Our drivers were great. The excursions was wonderful, suggest the mangrove and eco farm tour The room was spacious and had a very great, almost 360 view of the ocean and beach. The food was delicious and fresh. You can see many wildlife on the resort, we saw two toe sloths, white face monkeys, squirrel monkeys, hermit crabs, many lizards, raccoon, paca and a toad It was a trek to get here, but worth it. Also family friendly. I wish I had more time to spend there.

Besides being a beautiful rainforest resort on the beach, the staff is welcoming and accommodating. From ensuring we had a room on the 1st floor for my mother, to inviting and engaging conversations, my mother and I felt like we were home. Unfortunately, I endured a severe accident on an excursion off the property. I called the resort, and the concierge team quickly jumped into action, connecting me with an urgent care clinic the resort had a relationship with and knew would provide me the best care. Similarly, they had staff continuously checking on my 71-year-old mother, who was at the resort during the time of the accident. They also ensured food was sent to my room when I returned from the clinic. And, yes, even the food is good at the resort. It's fresh and healthy! I wanted to give a very special thank you to Derian Jimenez and his team, specifically Krishne, who orchestrated my care and supported my mother during a nightmare event. Thank you to Brian Lopez, who always took time to check on me and my mother. I definitely will be returning soon. God bless you guys, and thank you again.
