Arennas Máncora

The location of the hotel is beautiful, right on the beach. The staff is extremely friendly, but overall it does not feel like a true five-star experience.||There is only one restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it is outdoors and open. In the evenings this becomes uncomfortable, as it gets chilly and windy, and sitting there is not pleasant. In summer this might be fine, but in winter it would be much better to have an enclosed space.||Breakfast is quite simple and the buffet layout is not what you would expect from a luxury hotel. Facilities are limited. The “spa” turned out to be just a massage room, and the gym was a tiny space with one bench and a few dumbbells. The pool bar is only open from 11:00 to 18:00.||The rooms are spacious and nicely designed, (though unfortunately there is no bathtub) There are bottles of wine available for purchase, but strangely no wine glasses provided.||What we found most disappointing was the reconstruction work going on during our stay. We had not been informed about this beforehand — had we known, we would not have booked. Trucks drove up and down the beach all day, unloading large stones, creating huge clouds of dust and sand. This made it impossible to enjoy the beach, and even elsewhere the dust was noticeable. The noise was also disruptive, and the dust reached the restaurant, forcing the staff to constantly wipe sand off the tables.||Not exactly the relaxing holiday experience we had hoped for. Once again, the staff were very kind and helpful, and the location is beautiful — but there are still many details that need to be improved before this can live up to five-star standards.

If you’re looking for the perfect place to press the pause button on life, Arennas Mancora is your sanctuary. Tucked along a beautiful stretch of beach about four miles from Mancora, this boutique hotel is basically the VIP lounge for anyone recovering from an epic tour of Peru.||The property has 22 individual units—each with a bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, and an outdoor patio that practically begs you to sip something cold while staring into the horizon. Some rooms face the ocean, others look onto the garden, but let me tell you: the sea-view rooms are absolutely worth the upgrade. Waking up to the sound of waves? Yes, please.||Now, activities… well, “activities.” This is a place designed for chilling, recharging, and achieving peak relaxation. You can walk the beach, swim in the ocean, float between the various pools, or get pampered in the spa. That’s it. That’s the agenda. Absolute bliss.||There’s one restaurant, serving all day, and it does not disappoint. Breakfast is a delicious buffet served until 10am—ideal for those who take chilling very seriously. We had dinner there three nights and the food was consistently good, with a big menu full of choices.||Arennas also excels at the little things: surprise snacks by the pool, chocolates and biscuits waiting in your room, a welcome platter and drink… it’s like the hotel is constantly whispering, “Treat yourself.” And you listen. Happily.||The property is full of spaces to unwind—sunbeds, umbrellas, quiet corners, breezy lounges, and of course the beach. There’s so much room that it often feels like you have the whole place to yourself.||But the real magic? The staff. Every person we met was friendly and intent on making our stay exceptional. Special shout-out to Mariana, Marco and Joel for going above and beyond, and to the room-service team for being absolute legends.||In short: this hotel is excellent. We had the best holiday at Arennas. The room was modern, well equipped and had the most amazing view. The food was outstanding and the menu offered a variety of cuisines, which compliment the excellent standard of cocktails too. The staff were out of this world, making us feel so welcome. They were friendly, caring and professional, in particular Mariana, Gary and Pedro. Thank you!

Relaxing luxury with a lovely Ocean view.|Good food and great service.We upgraded to an Ocean view room rather than a garden room.|Lovely beach walks. We saw Whales and dolphins,pelicans and flamingos.A great chil after a fantastic but hectic tour of Peru.

We had a fabulous week in Arennas Mancora at the end of May. |The weather was fantastic, c.20 - 25 degrees and wall to wall sunshine. We stayed in a Beachfront Suite with Dip Pool just a stone's throw from the ocean. The sound of the breaking waves was such a restful soundtrack to our stay. |Our suite was excellent with plenty of storage room, indoor and outdoor shower options and all the amenities you could want.|Overlooking the ocean we had a private deck with table, seating area and jacuzzi dip pool. The resort has a couple of larger pools, but we had everything we wanted at our villa and didn't visit the other pools. |We enjoyed long walks on the beach, and although we walked to the pier at Mancora a few times, we didn't feel the need to leave the resort and visit the town.|The food was wonderful and we loved the excellent cocktails at the garden bar, as we watched the sun set into the ocean. Denis and Gary looked after us very well. |Juan made sure that we were never short of snacks or drinks in our room and made sure that we had enjoyable experiences in the restaurant. Francisco was also very helpful and did everything with a smile. |The resort also varied the options e.g. with a BBQ evening.|A fire pit was lit in the garden after sunset, and it was so nice to relax beside the flames and toast a few marshmallows after dinner.|Massages are available and we booked one each. The massages are exactly as described, but it would be lovely if there were options with more pressure available, which is our personal preference.|Pedro, the manager was on hand to make sure that we had an enjoyable stay and we couldn't have had a better time.|After a busy 12 days seeing the wonderful sights of Peru, Arennas Mancora is just the ticket for a relaxing end to your holiday.|Highly recommended.

I cannot say enough good about my experience at Arennas. The property is beautiful, service is friendly and food and drinks are great. The plunge pool room is well worth the price and I highly recommend this resort and the oceanfront plunge pool rooms for anyone looking for a nice luxury experience around Mancora.
