Had the most horrible experience in all my years of travel.
There’s nothing wrong with routine random checks or interviews. But clearly this experience we had was not.
On Friday, February 6, 2026 at approximately 2:43 pm. my husband and I arrived at the Argyle International Airport to travel back to New York via Delta Airlines flight which was scheduled to depart at approximately 4:23 pm.
P.S. we are typically at the airport much earlier but encountered a number of unforeseen circumstances based on the nature of business had travel to the island to take care of.
When we arrived at the airport (the usual procedure) we unpacked outside of the departure area and my husband would then return the rental vehicle. While my husband returned the car I wheeled the luggage inside the departure area and waited for his return.
Within moments of wheeling the luggage in I noticed two men sitting in vehicle outside the departure area
(the driver wore a green shirt) who sat in wait as I was inside waiting for my husband to return.
As my husband entered the departure area, one of the men (wearing green shirt) who was seated in the car alighted from the car, entered the building, then sat on a bench to the left. Then simultaneously, both our names were announced on the PA system as we proceded to the check-in area.
At the check-in desk ( normal procedure) we waited for boarding passes and paid for checked baggage as necessary. We then noticed that the attendant at the desk who issued our passes made an eye hand beckoning gesture (as she slided a piece of paper that had husband’s name on it) to two ladies who were waiting to the left of customer check-in area. We were then told that we need to go over to speak to one of them who told us after we asked, that we were “randomly” selected for an interview and she will be asking us some questions.
My husband opted not to answer questions at this time (as he was called to the back a few months ago in November 2025). I opted to answer questions and was asked, “where are traveling to /where do you live?” (not verbatim) but I recall telling her the town and state we live in. Then, I was asked “where do I work and how long? To which I also gave answers. At this point we’re so frustrated because of everything that so far transpired…this was not a “random” check or interview.
We then moved away to proceed to the boarding/waiting area. While en route to the area our names were once again announced via the PA system to report to gate 7. After baggage check etc. we reported to gate 7 and were told that we will have be “swabbed” because we didn’t answer the questions downstairs.
We were then asked place our bags on a table where our personal items, shoes, outer garments along with areas around the waists and ankles were swabbed, then pat-frisked. I was checked twice to include me having to remove my laptop twice because a male attendant who was not present at the beginning and gave instructions to check my laptop again (and requested that a female attendant once again pat-frisked me )as the computer system had “allegedly” flagged it for drugs. I then asked, the male attendant and what drugs? “Could you please explain?” His response was, “drugs like ibuprofen”… and then asked if I was taking any form of medication. After the second swabbing of my laptop I was told that i could replace it in my back and I was free to go.
What we experienced and observed from the moment we arrived outside the departure area was nothing short of blatant targeted harassment, an aim to intimidate, humiliate two law-abiding citizens. Not to mention the lack of professionalism.
Who are the person(s) behind this???
