I feel obligated to warn others because no one should waste their money the way we did. The high tea for two at Aria Bar & Lounge was, without exaggeration, the most disappointing meal I’ve had this year.
At first glance, the venue sets high expectations — a premium setting promising a refined experience. Unfortunately, the food served felt more like a mismatch of leftovers than a curated high tea. The savoury items were bland, unimaginative, and tasted like they’d been sitting in a fridge for hours. The sweets? Overly sugary, dry, and lacking any real finesse. If this is what passes for “luxury” or “elegance,” we’ve seriously lowered the bar.
I’ve had better pastries at petrol stations and more thoughtful sandwiches from supermarket shelves. For the price we paid, I expected at least one memorable bite — instead, we were left genuinely hungry and shocked at the lack of quality.
To be clear: this isn’t about being picky. It’s about value, respect for your guests, and basic culinary standards. When you charge a premium, you owe your customers more than just pretty plates and empty gestures.
Would I return? Not even for free. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere. High tea should be a treat — this felt like a scam dressed up in silverware.
