On arrival for a 4 night stay at the Langham Melbourne, I decided to have an early dinner. I walked down the esplanade in front of the hotel to find super high priced meals all the way to the casino. I then walked back to the Aria Bar & Lounge for my meal. I must say the prices were much more reasonable in the hotel and the ambience way better. Molly (our amazing waitress) gave me a fabulous table, with a fabulous smile. I ordered the Grilled Rocklea fish with puréed pumpkin and sprouts and seeds with a slice of lemon and I asked if the chef could make me some garlic and herb bread (not on the menu). The Chef came through, with a delicious garlic & herb buttered sourdough bread which was really amazing. I just drank sparkling water on that occasion. I finished that meal with a Limoncello Tart with Meringues and cream, super delicious. I thought my wife would like to try these dishes when she arrived the next day. The next night, my wife met Molly and she did choose those items from the menu, as well as an entrée. I had the Lobster cocktail and my wife had 6 oysters. My wife had the grilled Rocklea with pureed pumpkin and sprouts, and I had the grilled Salmon with pureed pumpkin and sprouts. For dessert my wife had the Limoncello Tart and I had a delightfully tasting berry Pavlova. We drank Hepburn Springs Mineral Water and I also enjoyed some Australian Domaine Chandon sparkling wine. The next day, we felt like a very light lunch and saw Molly again and asked whether the Chef could make us a bowl of soup each, with some bread on the side (again, not on the menu that day). The Chef provided Potato & Leek Soup and buttered sourdough bread, it was amazing. All the staff in the bar are warm, friendly and helpful. We had made some really good friends after just 4 nights. The ambiance in the Bar & Lounge is upmarket and luxurious. We felt we should dress well for dinner in such a classy environment. We also had coffee in the bar made by a barista, when we felt like it, rather that drinking hotel room coffee. Staff who excelled by providing great service, establishing a rapport, and providing food not on the menu, were the female Chef who we unfortunately didn't meet; The Restaurant Manager, Meghana and wait staff Molly and Sam, as well as the staff at the bar each night. We had fabulous meals and drinks in a fabulous atmosphere. A dinner or any meal at the Aria Bar & Lounge is highly recommended.

Took my friend for his birthday for afternoon tea. I’ve been to many a high tea in Melbourne and Perth so think I can safely compare. Firstly - the atmosphere was very refined, elegant & old-world. The service was great - very accommodating to changes & requests. The food - not worth the $125 price tag. Nothing special or unique.

Part of the beautiful The Langham Hotel. We decided on a dessert before going to the room. We chose a cheese platter and a flourless chocolate cake. The cheeses were of a mediocre quality. The dessert was excellent. We asked if fresh mint tea was available. This was confirmed again by the staff when served. It was a normal teabag. The waitress said they took the leaves out. Despite this, a beautiful venue to have a drink.

Had dinner here after an exhausting travel schedule. Was pleasantly surprised at the food. I really enjoyed my tuna and lamb rack. The service was attentive and enjoyable.

On 9 June we went to The Langham to try their High Tea, it included a couple of sandwiches, savory & sweet pastries, sticky date puddings and drinks (tea, coffee, etc). Everything was nice, the staff was friendly, but we’re quite sad that we weren’t seated near the windows (unlike the promotions pictures) which we found a bit misleading. Nevertheless, the staff & service was great! We were so well fed that we thought the sticky date pudding wasn’t really necessary, but that definitely said the portions were great for the price. The scones were great & fresh, but kinda disappointed on not having a classic raspberry/strawberry jam, and not liking their take on the orange, berry & rhubarb jam. Overall, it was still a great experience and we’d recommend you to give them a try! ✨

Good but not great food, below average service, amazing room but can’t justify the price. Had festive afternoon tea as a family. Very young waiters and waitresses. We were given champagne immediately but were then left for 40 minutes before anyone spoke to us again. Our tea order was then taken and arrived shortly after the food which I found odd. Surely you need your cuppa beforehand ? Food was good but not amazing. Nothing spectacular but everything tasted fine. Scones are very good. All the food just comes in one go. There was just no attention to detail. It’s little things like having to re use your plate after savoury items like mushroom pie to then eat a scone on the same plate. Having one knife the whole time for cutting pies and spreading jam ….. For the price I was expecting them to be really waiting on us but it felt like they put the food out and they just leave you to it. Always responsive if asked but no one pro active or checking your ok. (I have to also say it was also quiet. The staff mainly just wiped tables and prepared for the next service). Coming to an expensive hotel, we expected more attention to detail and a premium experience. Room was amazing, very festive and it’s a very relaxing atmosphere. The entrance and decorations are spectacular. Our third time there and probably our last. Shame, I really wanted it to be good but it just wasn’t.

We came for the afternoon tea on a friday 4pm to avoid the weekend surcharge and am so glad we did. Food was disappointing. The furniture and decor was clearly dated. There were dirty dishes and glasses stacked at the bar for ages rather than being packed away. It was hard to take advantage of unlimited tea if no one checks up or even looks at you to order tea. Food was mid, sandwiches were dry and pre-made. Ceviche was unbalanced and confusing, submerged in lime which fully cooked the kingfish and why did it contain corn and coconut? Pie was not cooked enough and was wet from the slaw which was over powered with mustard and the base felt wet as is wasn't cooked long enough. Scones were fine, however the pastries over used white chocolate and the rose, raspberry and lychee delight was texturally uninteresting and completely overpowered by rose. Nicest dishes were the miso cheesecake, Mandarin and Yuzu tart and the arancini. Portions were ok, I was too full to eat the shared pavlova which was very hard to share as it was difficult to cut through and messy to eat. A disappointing experience to say the least

Came here for high tea; had a $100 dining voucher included as part of our hotel room package and quite frankly, should’ve just let it go to waste or ordered some room service because the calories were absolutely not worth it. Food was mediocre, very very average. I feel like I could have gotten some of the things off the frozen aisle in Woolies. Flavourless, stale, and disappointing. Gave everything a red hot go and honestly, nothing was worth eating. They did bring out a lil cupcake with a candle for my birthday though, so that was a cute touch. Cupcake was pretty dense, so depends on whether you like that type of cupcake. As a place attached to the Langham, I was expecting a tasty, lovely high tea. What I got was nausea instead. Would not recommend.
