Aristo Cafe

It was lunch time on a Tuesday and no one was there. The neighboring establishments were busy so I decided to try this since I needed a quicker lunch to get back to a work meeting. It was not quick. That’s a “me” problem. But I was surprised it was 20 minutes for my one order. A bit overpriced for the basic format of the restaurant. Tasty food and the manager appeared to have a friendly relationship with a regular that came in which is normally a good sign.

Food is so good here. I got the grilled salmon and was very impressed. Cooked fresh.

Came back a year later. Had a Tri tip wrap it was very good!! Old review: Absolutely great. Fresh veggies, juicy and tender meat. Had a beef kebab wrap and sides of hummus and falafel. Beef flavor is unique from a lot other places I’ve tried. Highly recommend this place. The only downside is that there’s no restroom!!! lol

It's a very good quick pre pay medeteranian Food. It only took about 10 min for our food to arrive to the table. We were the only dine in customer at the time, so I'm not sure how it is when they're busy. Nonetheless, service and food were both good. We ordered lamb gyro plate, falefal plate, and side of baba ghanoush. The reason I'm giving 4 star is because their rice was awfully plain. It could definitely be better. Baba ghanoush tasted more like Hummus for some reason. We couldn't taste the eggplant. Besides these falafels, salad, lamb gyro, and Hummus were very good. It's definitely a good try. We'll be going back again.

NOT RECOMMENDED! AVOID!! We came to this "Aristo Cafe Mediterranean restaurang" at 310 E Grand Ave #110, El Segundo, CA 90245 to eat lunch. We ordered Tri-Tip Shawarma Plate with steak and Chicken Shawarma Plate. The beef and chickens were extremely salty, overcooked/burned and extreamly over seasened! Very dangerous and unhealthy food! (See pictures). The beef was of the cheapest lowest quality full of hard fat tissues. It was extremely salted, over seasoned and overcooked. So horrible and disgusting! The vegetables were full of salt, were burned and overcoocked as well and very salty! (See pictures). The amount of burned black stuff in the food, salt and the way the chickens and beef are cooked at this place in combination with the amount of salt and lowest quality meat, resulted in our last visit ever at this place! Very disappointed! Total score: NOT RECOMMANDED! AVOID!! Here are some pictures I took.

Best Mediterranean Restaurant in El Segundo, Los Angeles area. Very clean environment. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Plenty of parking, but might be little hard to get during lunch time. But they have parking on back.

I go here at least twice a month. Best hummus around. Fresh ingredients & seasonings are always on point. Unassuming location. A hidden gem.

The server was soooooo cool , happy and nice even gave us chocolates! He was all smiles and got our order right away. The food was perfect and really good for the cost. Will return next time we are in town

Good food, reasonable prices and healthy (unless you get the amazing french fries with sumac). We had the falafel wrap and the chicken wrap. They came with either french fries or a salad so we got one of each. Loved the chicken breast in the wrap and it was more than enough food for lunch. Falafel wrap had hummus and lots of veggies - also very tasty. If you are in a hurry, maybe call or order online since it took a little while for the food to come and several folks picked up to go orders while we waited. There are a few tables inside and out so you can eat there as well. Nothing fancy, but clean.

One word: FLAVOR!! I've passed by this location multiple times & finally decided to order through postmates! I was shocked by all of the flavor from the chicken kabob plate! The salad and hummus was delicious! But what really WOWED me was the green seasoned oil!! Wow, drizzling that on top of the rice was perfection- !! I couldn't stop eating it!! The chicken has a similar flavor to that oil so it was chef's kiss!

The food is Amazing topped with extraordinary customer service. The out side seating is in perfect view of LAX were you can see planes taking off. I WILL be coming back!!

The food was amazing. Everything was presented and cooked perfectly. The man working was such a nice person and extremely polite. Outside seating and you could hear the planes in the distance was also very cool. Overall a 10/10 for this place

I am in the El Segundo area tonight for work and decided to try Aristo Cafe because it received such high praise from everyone who eats here. I have to say, I AGREE. I ordered the chicken kebab plate. Everything was delicious! The rice was super soft and soaked up all the flavor from the grilled chicken kebab, the salad was fresh and the dressing was perfect. I also got some baklava for dessert and it might have been the best baklava I have ever had. It was not incredibly sweet, which I prefer and the layers of phyllo dough were super crispy and buttery, the nuts in the center were almost creamy. Absolutely incredible, I'm glad one order comes with two pieces.

Wow this salmon plate is quite out of this world. An unassuming little spot in a shopping center. Honestly walking by I wouldn't have gone in but I'm glad I found this place online and placed an order. I was happily surprised! Fresh and made to order. Great man cooking and working the front, I believe he's the owner and he is pretty awesome!

Stopped by this amazing little gem. When Greek food on your mind it's a must to stop by. Excellent customer service and yummy selections!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! THE food is horrible!! I don't know how these people are giving it 5 star!! Everything we got has to go to trash!!!! What a waste of money! The stuffed grape leaves were bitter and tasteless! The tri tip tastes gamey (can't tell if it's beef or lamb or what!!!!! So bad) , chicken kabob salty. Nothing positive!! Zero! I have never put any food in the trash! This is my first time ever!

This place is my new favorite place for Mediterranean food. You will get a lot of really tasty food. The owner is great and very friendly. I highly recommend Aristo Cafe.

I had come here for years to enjoy the chicken shawarma and garlic sauce, which was delicious. This admittedly made me feel conflicted after witnessing the owner on several occasions make overtly racist remarks directed against my coworkers and various passersby. This pattern of behavior has unfortunately continued in recent weeks, when a group of my coworkers were accused of being cheap on the basis of their race when they respectfully exited the restaurant after deciding the prices were too high. This conduct is so ridiculous in the year 2025, that my reaction is honestly that of surprise rather than anger. Regardless, I cannot in good conscience give this person my business any longer, nor do I recommend anyone else do so.

Such great service, John and his friends are so wonderful. Authentic Balkan ambiance and delicious food! Already looking forward to going back.

This place really surprised me. We were in the area and wanted Mediterranean food and we found this place on Yelp. I had the chicken skewers and they were delicious, well seasoned. It came with hummus, salad, pita bread and garlic butter. I will be back to try the chicken sharma. They have about 5 tables and plenty of parking in the parking lot.

This location is just slightly better than their other and thier other is very good. The type of food you can eat everyday and never get board or feel unhealthy from. Win. Win. The staff was polite and helpful. One of my friends wasn't familiar with Mediterranean foods and the gentalman who I think was the owner, kindly gave a short history on his restaurant and the dishes origins. Very intesting. It made the food that much better knowing all that goes into it. He didn't have to do that but he did so that's why I'm taking the time out to report his good deed. Definitely somewhere i would bring friends again. Highly recommended.

So I placed an order an hour before closing to be able to pick up by 7:40pm for my lunch I got there at exactly 7:50 and the person working g was already waiting at the door so I rushed in as fast as possible. He didn't seem bothered with me arriving at the last minute so that was a plus. He then told me that he substituted my rice with French fries because they ran out. Not what I wanted but I wasn't upset about it I had ordered the tri tip plate so instead of rice I got fries which was very good still only bad thing is that I don't usually get enough time to eat my so I have to eat it in sections so the fries are a horrible option once cold since it's not good microwaved. While the food was great and full of flavor I was a little upset at the fact that In my tri tip plate it had more chicken than tri tip. I feel like they just ran out of a lot of things and just threw in the crumbs of tri tip and leftover chicken. While this place is always delicious just a little sad my order wasn't what I order

Looking for a Greek Salad with Gyro meat and found Aristo Cafe on Yelp. I am In town every few weeks and now have a great new Greek restaurant to go to. The salad was made with ultra fresh ingredients and some of the best Gyro meat strips I have had. Great location, great food and great guys behind the counter! Enjoy!

Don't wait! I finally had lunch here on Friday and I loved it. The chicken is delicious and well seasoned. Loved the hummus! Order the expresso.

FIRE!! Great portions and tasty food. I always get their chicken kebab plate because it comes with pita bread and hummus too. I love coming here. This is my go to spot!

I'm a huge fan of falafel so I was excited to try the falafel wrap which came with a side of seasoned fries. It was pretty good overall (average to above average); the falafel was crunchy on the outside, lightly seasoned and moist inside. But I wish the salad/veggie mix inside the wrap included more variety instead of being mainly lettuce as it would have added to the flavor and texture. The seasoned fries looked great but it was too oily so the seasoning (flavor) did not come through taste wise. To be fair, this was a takeout order and it sat in the bag for 15 -20 minutes before I started eating so that may have affected the flavor/oiliness. The lunch combination was a pretty good deal overall so I do plan to return and give it the takeout order another try. The place offers a few tables to eat in but it's not the warmest/friendliest of environments. The service is efficient but far from welcoming.

Had a great experience catering from Aristo Cafe and working directly with the owner. Not only did he make great recommendations but he also guided me with order quantity which was helpful. I would order from here again as the quality of the food was excellent and all the dinner guests had positive feedback . Garlic sauce and spicy garlic were 10/10!

I love coming to Aristo Cafe with my co workers and friends. Whenever my friends and I are in the El Segundo area we love coming here. The gyro wraps with fries is my favorite thing to order at this place. Their fries are crispy and seasoned well. The pita bread is warm, soft, and tastes homemade. The meat is well seasoned. The gyro wraps comes with three pieces of gyro, onions, tomatoes, and sauce. Their sauce is great it tastes super fresh, light, creamy, and compliments the meat and the pita bread. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a good gyro wrap. It is one of the best gyro wraps I have been to in LA. The staff is really nice and they prepare the food pretty quick. Note: They open from 11AM - 8PM from Monday to Saturday and they are closed on Sunday' s. They have a few parking spaces available.

Today, I got a chicken shawarma wrap. It did not have much flavor which could be in part my fault as I had them leave off the tahini sauce. However, the chicken was so dried out and over cooked. It seemed like it was just some left over cooked chicken. On top of that, I ordered to pick up at a certain time via their website. I got there and they claimed that they didn't have the order. However when I showed him the online receipt, he then found it. But then I had to wait while they made it quickly. Maybe that's why I got chicken that was obviously precooked and dried out, not freshly made chicken. I've been here before and liked what I got but now won't be going back.

This and the Redondo Beach location have the best Mediterranean food I've ever had! It's the one place where they get the Baklava and Falafel right which is rare! The family that owns these restaurants is really nice and always makes me feel like this is my second home. It also features the most relaxing ambience I've been in a restaurant before. It's important to know that both of the locations have different menu items so it is worth going to both. Also, just want to give a shout out to John, Robert, and Sosi for making this place so accommodating for their customers!

I'm very surprised at how delicious the food was! I'm even more surprised that the people working at the register are actually friendly and seem like they enjoy their job. I will definitely come back to this place, I recommend the Gyro plate!

I'm giving this place a bad review because it's not just one thing that stands out as being poor. Firstly, when you walk in you expect to see the shawarma spit-- where is the Shawarma spit? Good picture as you enter the place but that was my first thought. So immediately I get negative thoughts about this place. Secondly the oldish chap on duty taking orders was very rude, no greeting no smile ... just a very irritated facial expression. Naturally I didn't get off to a good start so I knew by then this wasn't going to be a Panini Cafe experience that was maybe (naively) aiming for!! So how was my order? The foods of Persia and the Mediterranean hah ha? Well, despite the prices being extremely high for a place that's more like a fast food place, the food was very average. I don't understand why these places serve your food as though you're taking it out? Not to mention it's served in polystyrene containers which is really an ugly way to package food -- hopefully it'll be banned soon-- yes this place does. We ordered the beef Shawarma and lamb kebob. The lamb meat was ok kind of acceptable but heavens knows what they put on top of it -- some sort of sauce, which wasn't really necessary or tasty. As for the rice -- OMG, what did they cook the rice in? The washing machine? It was awful. Just a note to the chef -- please get some training on how to make decent rice, you might even serve real Mediterranean Basmati (rice) someday when you're ready. The other item was poor, (shawarma) beef tasted old, and it was wrapped in too much sauce that it basically killed the natural taste of the beef. Needless to say I won't be coming back especially as the server was seemingly uninterested in his business and how the customers feel about their food. Sorry for the ugly posting but I have to give honest reviews. The seating arrangement was ok but then again it's kind of cramped and the tables aren't very well balanced.

Food is absolutely amazing! The smoothest hummus I've ever had! I always order the chicken shawarma and it's never disappointing! The owner always works so hard and is so supportive of service members and first responders. Highly recommend to everyone!

Good food, awful service. The employees here always seem pissed that you're visiting. I ordered a beef gyro, and when someone's chicken wrap was ready the employee yelled at me from across the restaurant to "come and get my order instead of just sitting there." I'd suggest going elsewhere to get your Mediterranean fix.

Visiting from Nor Cal, decided to stop by since I was near. I was actually surprised by the generous portion, food is deliciously seasoned with great mix of vegetables and meat. For less than $20 I can eat good for 2 days. Thanks for the great meal.

Beyond amazing. One of my favorite places to eat in El Segundo- by far. Soooo fresh, high quality and so flavorful. Fairly priced too. 10/10 100,000% recommend. Hate that they're closed Sundays but whatever as long as this place stays here I'm HAPPY !!!! Soooooo. So so so so good

So I am barely in this area, but a friend recommended that I try this middle eastern place. Everyone MUST try Aristo Cafe. The food was incredible. The service is quick, with a no nonsense attitude that I really liked. Very clean dining area. But OMG the food!! Everything that I ordered I loved. Hummus is probably the creamiest and tastiest I've ever had, the shawarma (chicken) was not dry like most places. The salad dressing was seasoned and tangy really yummy. I had the football like Kibbe which was deliciously. So after my first time there I actually took my friends and they too have gone back as well. I went to the one in El Segundo, Aristo himself is there to serve you. He said he makes everything fresh everyday, from the flavor it was obvious. Perfect place to go before or after you drop or pick up someone from LAX. Or just for really good middle eastern food. Apparently he caters parties too. This place is a MUST.

Hands down my favorite Mediterranean place in the area. We are frequent customers and it has yet to disappoint. We have enjoyed every meal there. The food is always fresh and the owner goes out of his way to make sure everyone is happy with their orders. My go to is the chicken kabob plate, my husband loves the tri-tip shawarma plate, and our 3 year old loves her chicken nuggets. If you are able to restrain yourself from eating everything in one sitting, it makes for excellent leftovers the next day too. The side sauces are freshly made as well and I wish he sold their whipped garlic olive oil (Toum) or their habanero spicy sauce. I would definitely purchase it! It's great for takeout or just a casual meal there. Looking forward to many more meals there:)

One of my favorite places to eat. We go almost every week. Food is so fresh, clean and tasty. Portions are generous.

I have absolutely no idea what Mediterranean food all these 5 Star reviewers are used to but I am a hard pass on Aristo. We did takeout............ $36 for Veggie Kabob (with unrecognizable cold vegetables) that appear to have been deep fried (?), Chicken kabob was very tough and really tasteless, hummus tasted quite sour and gyro was served with minimal sauce and not even a slice of tomato or tiny piece of lettuce. Side salads were totally bland. Dumped majority of food.......Not sure why cooks only wear one glove and only put it on halfway thro food prep?

Delicious food !!! Excellent service ! They have the best chicken shawarma , tri tip shawarma , lule kabob , hummus , dolmathes and baklava ! I am from San Diego and will be coming back here soon ! Thank you to everyone at Aristo Cafe !

Top 3 favorite spots in the South Bay. Been a frequent Aristo's customer for many years and it never disappoints. Spicy garlic sauce is fire.

Food is decent to be generous. I usually order the chicken gyro plate. Chicken is dry, hummus is bland, rice is hard and stuck together (probably not made that day). Each time I've gone, I immediately regret giving them my business on account of the atrocious service. It always seems like there is some family drama happening accompanied by screaming behind the counter that takes priority of the hungry customers in the store. Employees casually sitting out in the dining area really enjoying themselves watching TV and turning a blind eye to customers. If I didn't know better I'd say these people don't want customers coming in at all... I've been overly polite with "please and thank you so much's" without even a "thanks!" or friendly smile in return. Seems like this place has lost its passion for food and it shows. Anyone in the El Segundo area looking for great mediterranean I highly recommend you drive the extra 5 min to Aliki's in Westchester - 5 stars for them! P.S. Also no masks on any of the employees :|

The food is fine. My shawarma wrap was a little light in the chicken, but still fine and tasty. As others have said, the ambiance is not great. Clutter lying around and stacked even in the dining area, sticky surfaces, employees/owners walking around talking really loudly to each other with no regard for customers. Almost feels like they only want people to do takeout. Furthermore, there's no plates, no flatware, only plastic ware given sealed in plastic bags -- and EVERYTHING is served in a styrofoam container. I asked for my food for Dine-in and they served it in styrofoam, and said they automatically do that (without asking). Apparently their default serving style is single-use throw-in-the-landfill plastic and styrofoam. I won't be going back.

I have been a fan of Aristo Cafe for a long time after seeking out Mediterranean food in the South Bay, and was grateful to see all my favorites deliciously cooked and extra points for being family owned. Love both locations and always eat way too much but it's worth it!

We had the chicken shawarma wrap. It was good taste, excellent quantity and the sauce was delicious. It well packed came with fries. Good value for good product. Will recommend this restaurant. Thanks.
