"We always make it a point to go to Arizona Inn when we’re in town, too — they have a happy hour with a lovely old pianist who’s been there forever. He plays classic tunes like “Moon River” that make you want to cry into your martini (in a good way)."

"Family owned and operated for more than eight decades, the Arizona Inn provides genteel and aristocratic hospitality with its pink adobe buildings and high tea service in the library. Set in the midst of midtown, it nonetheless offers privacy and elegance with its fully mature landscaping and gardens coaxed out of the desert soil (plus superb tennis courts)."

What a fabulous Inn! The kind of charm and warmth lacking in nearly every place you can stay anywhere these days. From the attention to detail in the original design to the quiet and peace in the library, the restaurant and on the beautiful grounds. The food is wonderful as well and - gasp!- no piped in music in most places! I've lived in Arizona my whole life and am so glad to have found this historic gem.

We had a lovely stay at the Arizona Inn from Sunday to Wednesday last week. Alex at the front desk helped us with many decisions about places to visit and dine. Robert was our bartender the first night and everyone loved him. We stayed up later because of him. What an impeccable property. I especially appreciated the plantings and landscaping and the old school feel to the inn. Morning coffee in the library was perfect and I so appreciated it being ready early!  We hope to return soon. It was my daughter-in-law’s first visit to the western U.S. and she loved it.

This hotel is beautiful. It is truly a resort. The property is so large and there is nothing cookie cutter about it. My room had beautiful furniture from the 1930’s- 1950’s. It was large and spacious and had a walk out patio with a table two chairs, two very nice lounge chairs and a great view of the property, especially at night when the gardens were twinkling with soft lights. Everything in my room was crisp, clean and my king size bed extremely comfortable. I stayed two nights and each time I walked on the grounds I discovered something different and unique. There was no resort fee or charge for any of the activities. The pool was gorgeous. There was actually a changing building next to the pool with showers, dressing rooms, and a sauna. Very nice beach towels laid out as you enter the gated courtyard for the pool. The restaurant was very elegant and the bar area comfortable and inviting. There is a very large library where they serve tea and it is a gracious spot just to read or take a quiet moment. But in my opinion I saved the best for last. Every person I encountered was welcoming, attentive to my questions or needs, and each one went above and beyond to help me with the smallest of requests. With everything I just mentioned I do not want to leave an impression that the Arizona Inn is stuffy or pretentious it is simply the way it’s always been done. It is evident in each interaction the current employees take real ownership in preserving the traditions and history of this beautiful hotel.

The Arizona inn is a beautiful landmark which has been in Tucson it seems like forever, as long as I've been here at least, and I know it was here for quite a while before that! We very much enjoyed our time there. We visited our friend there and got to sit by the fireplace and visit with travelers. It was very nice. The food was delicious; we had dinner there and the service was excellent. Jon, our server, was so nice and attentive. Our water was served in beautiful Cobalt blue glasses. I definitely look forward to going there again sometime.

Outstanding boutique hotel in a quiet neighborhood close to the center of Tuscon. Classic architecture from the 1930s with a main building many small outbuildings with the rooms--think cottages but not single building cottages. Elegant and classic design. Excellent grounds. The rooms and furnishings feel old but a modern design would not fit the hotel. There are short steps everywhere.

My husband and I just spent three nights at this wonderful hotel. Almost 100 years old, it has old world charm while being nicely updated. It is quiet and peaceful, and the grounds are lovely. This is the perfect place to stay while enjoying Tucson’s desert landscape.

Well maintained grounds. Pool. Secure. On-site food is pretty good. Bar. Ping pong table. Walkable grounds. Lovely rooms for lounging. Staff helpful, but not intrusive.😁

Yelp
I came here for dinner last night and sat in the Audubon bar since there was live piano music. I ordered dinner from the main dining room though so I will review the main dining room here. The seared ahi tuna appetizer was a little spicy and it was delicious but I forgot how tiny the portions are for their appetizers. I would suggest ordering an appetizer for each person. The Seared Skin Bay Salmon didn't have much flavor on its own, but at least it wasn't fishy. I did not like the fried avocado, I would prefer it uncooked. But all the accompaniments when mixed with the salmon made the bite taste good. My dining companion ordered the Filet mignon steak frites medium well so I can't really judge it since I like it medium rare. It didn't taste like it had much flavor though. I did not like the sauce (veal reduction) they drizzled over the fries, it tasted burnt. I'm sad they no longer have the duck I loved last time, but that was years ago. I recommend trying the Hemingway Daiquiri. It was so good.

Yelp
I love the Arizona Inn. I'm not quite sure what is happening there. Bar and servers are wonderful. The bellman Will has to be the worst bellman/porter I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. He is always on his phone, doesn't open the door, doesn't lift a finger to help with bags, but will gladly accept a tip. It's such a shame that he is the first person one encounters when entering the Inn.

Yelp
Every part of this meal was marvelous. We were seated quickly at a beautiful outdoor patio that provides a pretty view of the unique Inn in which the restaurant is. The ambiance was fantastic with the sunny weather outside and live piano for the indoor area. I ordered a fish special and it was amazing. The servers were responsive and helped make this a special place to grab a bite to eat. The plating was breathtaking and the cook of the fish and flavor of the meal screamed elegance. It wasn't the cheapest place in Tucson, but if you are staying here you have to try this restaurant out. There are less expensive, more basic options on the menu, but any special is absolutely worth a shot.

Yelp
Everything was perfect! The food couldn't have been better. Service was great. Front desk is the best

Yelp
I keep checking back to see if the Arizona Inn has decided to get back to being the wonderful In that it was. We were regulars for quite awhile, but were seeing what we came to expect drop off. We gave it another try in 2022, and with the main dining room closed and the bar closed on NYE at 9 P.M., it was clear that they were not ready for prime time. Going from outstanding service, great accommodations, breakfast in bed, homemade marmalade, to what it was in 2022, was so disappointing. I hope that there has been a thought to the return of their heyday since then, and if so, I hope they let me know.

Yelp
Breakfast. Food was Okay. Just okay. Eggs Benedict not too bad. I won't go back because the place needs to be cleaned up. It was not clean .... It was really nasty. I could send some Pictures but I won't do that to this Tucson icon. It wasn't because it's old. It was dirty. Why? Please fix this. We miss you.

Yelp
Grounds are beautiful. Food was good. I can't speak for the rest of the rooms, but room 129 smells like cat pee. It's a $350/night patio room and we had to crack all the windows and open both doors. We left our front door open, cracked both windows and opened the back door (hotel can get a bonus star for being very safe). Came back from dinner and it still smells like cat pee. The hotel is supposed to be historic, not dilapidated. If you get room 129, go ahead and tell the desk to downgrade you or find a different patio room. It's gross.

Yelp
I went to the Arizona Inn with a friend for lunch. I wanted a shrimp cocktail but they were out of shrimp. No big deal, I ordered a Ruben Sandwich. It was very good and my side of fries were some of the best fries I have eaten in a long time. The service was very good, yes the prices are high. Very few people were in the restaurant at the time, which was early afternoon. The gift shop has beautiful items but almost without exception too expensive for my wallet. It's a lovely piece of history. However it does smell like a very old hotel. Not sure cleaning the carpets would help.

Yelp
We have always wanted to stay at the historic Arizona in so we took advantage of the end of summer off season rates for a two-day getaway. We were greeted warmly by a very personable young woman, Emma who made us feel very welcomed. This morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast which was served by the delightful Bri, so friendly and genuinely warm and attended to us very efficiently. Warm and genuine is the theme of the personnel here. The grounds and furnishings really transport you back in time. Now we will go enjoy the pool before it gets too hot.

Yelp
The Arizona Inn is a Tucson tradition and beautiful historic property, their grounds are well maintained, and the inn itself is a fun step back in time. A fun place to recommend for out of town visitors who would opt to stay local instead of at a chain hotel if they want to be near The University or Central Tucson. If you're not staying at the hotel you can still dine on their patio. On my visit, I enjoyed their turkey sandwich more than other hotels I've eaten at. Some of my friends were underwhelmed with their entrees like the chicken sandwich but we chalked it up to the fact that dining at the Arizona Inn is more for the experience than food. Like many hotel restaurants, entrees are on the more expensive side so just be prepared for that!

Yelp
The understated elegance of the historic accommodations near the U of A just cannot be beat. I highly recommend this place to all of my friends and family members. It is great to see such a beautiful historic landmark still going strong after all of these decades. I especially like their lounge. It is super charming and serene.

Yelp
I have to be honest, the Butternut squash plate for $46 was not tasty. It was dry with very little flavor and the pasta was seared and seemed to be reheated or the pasta wraps were heated by grilling. The waiter never came back around so I was not asked if I wanted anything else to replace it. The waiter was rude, had to ask for both water and bread. When I said I could not eat the ravioli that it did not taste good I had not given any concession on the price of the food. The chef needs to go back to culinary school as this was not gourmet for a well known restaurant . I have had much better Butternut Squash ravioli at the Monteray Bay restaurant in Pittsburgh. We were in a group of 6 and we were going to pay separately except for the husband and wife but the waiter gave the check to the husband at the table and said the computers were not working and he could not give separate checks. 3 of the 4 were paying with credit cards . That was not fair to the Husband at the table as 4 of us were mature adult student artists females and not guests of the man and his wife. As far as the visual of the Arizona Inn, it is clean but food leaves much to be desired. One can not eat Ambiance. I do not recommend eating at the Arizona Inn. 1/24/25

Yelp
Cool hotel, potentially, but the room was oppressively musty due to either the ancient curtains, the fabric wing chairs, or maybe the 1980s carpet. It smelled so bad we had to open all the windows while we were at dinner. Since we were only there for one night and were leaving very early, we stayed. The sad thing is that it was an "upgrade" offered by the desk manager who had to have known it was a bad room. The library tea is nice but the dirty plates weren't bussed for over two hours. I had to move dirty plates to be able to set my own down. The bar looked inviting but, again, a lot of dirty glasses and dishes on every table. Easy parking. Two stars for history and library. Overall, an interesting place but badly needs some TLC. I would not stay here again.

Yelp
This place is hot or miss. In season, it can be really good for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Our of season it is iffy. Stopped in a couple weeks ago and nobody was in the dining room (or outside). That sent up a red flag. Otherwise, I love this place and it's history.

Yelp
A few friends and I stopped by for dinner. The patio and the Audubon bar is open. We ordered the pork belly bun, Caesar salad and Vichyssoise soup. The pork belly buns come 3 to an order. The pork was juicy and the skin was crispy. The bun was nice and soft, very good. The Caesar salad came with anchovies and croutons, it was a good size. Loved the vichyssoise soup. It was served cold sitting on ice. Great flavor. Service was attentive. The manager, Kurtis stopped by a few times to check on us, great service. We sat in the library after dinner with the large Christmas tree and roaring fire. It was nice to relax with friends.

Yelp
Need a cool hangout: try the bar of the Arizona Inn. Chill piano, delicious burgers, and a back bar stocked with your favorite beverages.

Gail ..

Yelp
I just heard two other guests say "everything was perfect". I agree. I can find no fault here. The food is excellent; well and properly prepared and served. And beautifully presented. The room is clean and comfortable and spacious with everything you need (and some things that one rarely finds). Full amenities in the room and daily service. The grounds are impeccable...flowers everywhere...croquet anyone? Ping pong? Swimming? Badminton? Tennis (on clay court!)? Library? This is simply a beautiful, historic and comfortable place to be. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Two pieces of advice. Eat outside. And get the pappardelle pasta. But do not expect the staff to move tables so you can sit more people together than they have already set up. And no you cannot move the tables yourself either. And they will not honor your specific request when you reserve ahead of time. We made a reservation for six people to sit in the shade outside. When we arrived there were no tables for six outside in the shade. Are you still with me? We found a table outside all by ourselves that was round and good enough for six and moved it mostly into the shade on a very sunny day. Fortunately I had a big hat. Nobody else was wild about their food and my pasta dish was outstanding. Everybody wished they had ordered that also. Service was good and once again my pasta was delicious. One of the best pasta dishes I've ever had anywhere. Not so great for my friends. My prior experience dining at the Arizona in for over 25 years was always disappointing and I had vowed not to return there. I will go back anytime now eat that pasta again as long as I don't expect to sit where I expect to sit. Pappardelle Pasta $25 Fresh Egg Pasta, Sautéed Spinach, Caramelized Onion, Beech Mushrooms, Roasted Corn, Tomato Confit Beurre Blanc, Goat Cheese, Garlic Butter Baguette. Add Chicken (6) or Grilled Shrimp (8)

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by several times over the last year and a half to have dinner here. We were finally able to have dinner in the bar area a few months ago. But you still can't sit at the bar. How stupid is that! Problem is that when we did eat here, the manager was stalking us, was not friendly and was actually hostile. The food was mediocre and We haven't been back. We spent a lot eating here. No more. I don't know what's going on with this establishment but ever since this Covid CRAP hit Tucson, where they made a decision to shut the restaurant down to outside customers then they limited their times serving and now its open part of the time that it was previously open, its gone downhill and the food quality and staff have changed also. Its no longer enjoyable eating here.

Yelp
I am incredibly disappointed that the venerated Arizona Inn has fallen to be a shabby shadow of her former glory. I've stayed here in the past and the grounds were manicured, the service was impeccable and it was a wonderful experience. It seems now that there are echos of what it used to be, the staff is pleasant, but not helpful, the rooms are spacious, but smell musty and look tired. The hotel is simply a shadow of its former self. There is no longer food & drink service at the pool. In fact there is not even room service for a Saturday afternoon cocktail and snack. This is simply unacceptable. When questioned about this at 4:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday, the front desk informed me that there was no manager present, he had left for the day and would be back on Monday. This is after we were unable to get drinks or service at the pool on Friday afternoon. This is why the foothills resorts are taking over. The pleasant young woman was unapologetic and let me know that I could walk down to the bar and schlep a couple of drinks back to my room. No Mamager, no service, NO THANKS! I'm guessing that they have vending machines on order for the hallways and by the pool so as to rise to the level of service that I can get at the motel 6. We should all take a moment to mourn the loss of this grand old lady, but to be clear the queen has died and the successor is the idiot nephew that people whisper about. It would be nice if there was a leader or plan in place to carry on the tradition of what was once a very fine establishment. Sadly it seems that they are content to exist based on their former reputation and slide into inevitable decline. This is sad, but beware if you decide to stay here that you will be receiving a room and a bed, that is it.

Yelp
Went to lunch with and out of Town guest to the Arizona Inn is a fancy, historical hotel, a lovely resort on Saturday. We sat at the main bar area and had drinks before being serviced lunch, we had to keep on waving away the flies as we were eating, I guess and old resort maybe not anyway to keep insects out of there facility. I will never go back....Next we will go to La Ventana.

Yelp
Much as I love the Arizona Inn and have had good meals in the past, this time was very disappointing. I was with a group of 20 people celebrating a friend's birthday in a separate room. Our drink order was taken first but it took quite a bit to have the food order taken. The prickly pear mimosa was very good and would recommend that. I ordered the lemon granola pancakes off the brunch menu and asked if I could also have some berries. The first set of pancakes they gave me were burnt pretty badly and all I could taste was the burnt taste. I didn't get any maple syrup that time but did get a dish of berries ($5.00 was charged). The second set of pancakes was about as bad. There was one pancake on the bottom that wasn't so burnt and I was able to scrape the burnt top off of another so that I could actually get the lemon flavor which I would have loved to enjoy. I didn't want to send them back again as by then about 2 hours had passed and I was hungry so scraped off what I could. To the credit of the waiter, he noticed and said he talked to his manager and they wouldn't charge me which I did appreciate. Others at our table did enjoy their meal-a chicken salad, short rib eggs benedict, a New York strip and the cornflake French toast. One person had a burger that was dry and tough but she was given a turkey sandwich to replace it. I'd give fewer stars had I not been there for good meals in the past or if others didn't like their meal. I'm being generous based on the food. Despite the meal, the ambiance is lovely. I especially enjoy going into the library which is nicely decorated with a large Christmas tree. The main dining room is very nice and has a fireplace at one end. They have kept up the Inn very nicely given its age. It's worth a visit and if you get a different meal, you might really love it.

Yelp
I stayed at Arizona Inn and words cannot describe how poor the service was in the restaurant for breakfast. I ordered an omelette (18 dollars) and tea (4 dollars). I asked the waitress if it was possible to get ONE PIECE of salmon and after a lot of unnecessary back and forth with the kitchen, a piece of salmon was brought out to me. I was charged 10 DOLLARS for ONE PIECE of salmon. I was never informed of the price by the waitress and it is not listed on the menu. This is ridiculous. I could have gone to Whole Foods and bought a whole package of salmon for less money. To top it all off, the salmon was not fresh and smelled awful to the point that I could not eat it. My total bill was 34.78, which is ridiculous for an (undercooked) omelette and tea. I asked the waitress about this and all she said was "oh, sorry". I felt forced to sign the check and leave. I informed the front desk of this issue and they said that I would not be charged for breakfast and that someone would reach out to me. Unsurprisingly, no one reached out to be and I see the charge on my credit card bill. I sent an email to the hotel about this issue. Subsequently, Hector the Dining Room Manager emailed me and was rude and completely lacking in customer service skills. His focus is on money rather than treating customers fairly. I do not recommend anyone to eat at this restaurant or stay at this hotel. There are plenty of other nicer and higher quality places to stay and eat in Tucson.

Yelp
Met up with family to have breakfast on Mother'sDay, got seated and then waited for 20 min until someone came and took our order. By the time our waitress came to take our order, another table that had been seated after us had already had their order taken. We all ordered omelettes and they were ok, really nothing to write home about. Never did anyone refilled our water glasses the entire time we were there. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone wanting a good breakfast. Bad service and so so food = not a good experience.

Yelp
Super delicious and amazing gluten free and vegetarian options! I had the vegetarian burger on a gluten free bun! So yummy and a perfect portion size with delicious fries. My mom had the chickpea cakes and the sautéed vegeteables that came alongside it were to die for! There was even live music playing and we sat on the gorgeous patio. Delicious and charming! Update! We statues here again this weekend and I ordered the vegetarian burger again and it was just as delicious!! For breakfast I had avocado toast this time (gluten free) and it was also delicious. The best hotel and restaurant in Tucson!

Yelp
I mainly booked a one day staycation to enjoy the pool with my family. We were the only ones at the pool and they told us to turn off the music. Not turn it down but off. Pool party music not even offensive or disruptive music. Other guests were enjoying themselves at the pool too nothing seemed wrong and a staff member came and asked us "Are you guys even guests here?". I didn't see him ask anyone else and what a coincidence that we were the only younger Hispanic family there. A bit rude. Also, at 6am our alarm clock went off and when we turned it off we could hear the other alarm clocks in empty rooms beside us going off. That did not sit well with my 1 and 3 year old. Yes historic and clean but will find a better fit for us next time.

Yelp
Manager at hotel denied us a trash can. I was here for a CareerMD event. I politely asked for a trash can. A female manager of the hotel came to me and in the most full-of-herself way said, "we've hosted this event for four years" Mind you, I'm the paying customer. I PAID to be here. I wanted to say, "Well lady I have done this all over the country from New York to California, and I've never been at a venue that denied us trash cans". I think it's really ratchet when trash is overflowing. We were only provided a tiny trash can outside the Tucson conference room. Empty plates were left on tables for over an hour. Gross. This is gross.

Kayla S.

Yelp
The establishment itself is nice, however the services I received was astonishing with how poor it was. I felt not only judged, but also mistreated by several of the staff members working there. I was recommended by a friend, and had very high expectations, but I am so disappointed and will not be visiting or recommending this place. I was ignored when I asked for a drink by a larger man, and was glanced at when I asked for anything. I have never experienced worse customer service... DO NOT go here unless you want to be judged and received horrible treatment by the staff...

Yelp
I have this local 'bucket list' of places I want to go/try and Arizona Inn was on -- to dine in their dining room. It was two friends birthdays so we decided to do brunch here. The dining room is truly lovely, and you get a feel of nostalgia being in the Inn itself. I had not realized it has been here since 1930. We were seated at the table and immediately provided ice water in these gorgeous blue cobalt glasses and our drink order was taken. It was Sunday late morning so of course, we indulged in some Mimosa's -- I tried both the Prickly Pear Mimosa and the Ruby Mimosa -- and while I did love both, the Ruby Mimosa was incredible and I could have had a few more. 2 of us ordered the Southwestern Benedict, 1 the Huevos Rancheros. ALL of us cleaned our plates if that says anything. The food was beautifully presented on the plate and was very fresh. They even provided us with some fresh pico, that added some nice flavor to my potatoes. Since we were celebrating 2 birthdays, our server indicated the birthday girls could select any dessert off the menu, complimentary. We tried the chocolate cake, pineapple/basil cheesecake, and the Salted Caramel Budino. WOW is all I can say. While all three were fantastic, my favorite was a tie between the Budino and the chocolate cake. Be prepared, they do bring you fingerbowls once you are finished with a plate of truffles. It is hilarious to see the looks on faces that have never been presented with a finger bowl. Bottom line, I am so happy I finally got over here for my bucket list meal -- it was totally worth it.

Yelp
Amazing place! Rich with culture and the culinary experience to match. The staff was professional and their service was spot on. Put it on your list as a must do!

Yelp
This is the perfect place to enjoy an amazing Christmas lunch with a dear friend. This is also one of my favorite Tucson treasures! I also love the decorations, especially the large fresh tree in the library! We both ordered the Cobb salad. Delicious and the presentation was perfect! We also had the Brussels sprouts appetizer. When my friend ordered it, I rolled my eyes because I don't like Brussels sprouts!! Well, that was then; I like them at the Arizona Inn! I highly recommend the Arizona Inn and will be back soon!

Yelp
First time here, first impression: upscale and gorgeous ambiance. Old art on the walls, elegant furnishings in a mission style. Mostly older single travelers enjoying a quiet breakfast... a little too quiet perhaps... music would be nice. First bite: Not bad. The dish looked wonderful, but the flavors were not there. Had to go back to the salt shaker twice and pile on the nice fresh salsa. Had the southwestern benedict. Wouldn't recommend it, but there were lots of wonderful sounding options. The accompanying breakfast potatoes were fingerlings, and fried just right. The coffee was very good. The service: Friendly and professional. Had to wait for coffee refill, but no worries to wait and take in the decor in such a lovely setting.

Yelp
Wonderful Mother's Day celebration with my family at the historic Arizona Inn. My expectations were high and the Arizona Inn didn't disappoint, from its refined elegant atmosphere to our 3 course gourmet meal. We were seated in the exquisitely decorated main dining room at quiet table set with brilliant cobalt blue glasses. Received excellent service from our waitstaff. They were top notch throughout our meal and kept the champagne flowing. The prix fixe menu had several scrumptious options. For our first course, we selected the chilled vichyssoise soup, balsamic glazed brussels sprouts with savory goat cheese panna cotta, and lobster bisque. I shared all three with my family. The sweetness of the goat cheese panna cotta was the perfect compliment to the sprouts. The lobster bisque was the best I've ever eaten. In addition, we enjoyed a trio of sweet and savory mini breads, including one with jalapeño. For my main course, I selected Beef Bourguignon. Braised to perfection in a mushroom and burgundy sauce and set atop a puff pastry with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. My dessert was an awesome assortment of mini bites, which included a French macaron, flourless chocolate cake, creme brûlée, and cheesecake. High fives to the chef and everyone who had a part in making our meal. A stroll around the hotel grounds with its beautiful gardens, water fountain, and a visit to the gift shop made our special day complete.

Yelp
Lovely hotel in a historical quiet part of Tucson. Quite spacious rooms, very classy, equipped with a small library. There is table tennis, croquet and clay tennis on the premises, in wonderfully maintained gardens. Tea is offered in the morning and evening in the common library - a beautiful wood paneled room with tall ceilings and exposed wooden beams, big windows, comfortable furniture and a fireplace. By far, my favorite room in any hotel I've ever been to. The restaurant is lovely, but we decided to dine at the bar/lounge. Loved the live music and relaxing atmosphere, was a perfect end of very busy days during our stay. All about this hotel reminded of typical midwestern hospitality, sprinkled with luxury and comfort. I will certainly go back next time I am in Tucson, and will plan to stay past my business travel.

Yelp
This was my first time to eat at the Arizona Inn. You can't ask for a lovelier setting than this beautiful oasis right in the middle of Tucson. Walking through the doors and out to the back area is truly like finding a little green paradise in the midst of a dusty desert. Even if we hadn't had lunch at the restaurant, I would have been very happy just wandering the grounds of this exquisite property. Our lunch was expensive and ok. Not great but decent. We all ordered the guacamole burger which was huge but not particularly seasoned. My brother ordered medium well and it came out looking more like medium. The bun was very tasty. The fries were standard, fast food type. My brother ordered a slaw for his side dish and the bite I had was definitely distinctive and, I thought, pretty tasty. Considering there was almost no one in the restaurant at the time we ordered, I was a bit surprised for how long our meals took to arrive. I actually thought we might have been forgotten. This happened again as we waited for the check, though this could be one of those things where you're being encouraged to linger and talk. The waiter wasn't overly friendly or attentive. It certainly wasn't bad enough that felt a need to write him up but, given the prices for a burger, I might have expected a bit more attentiveness on his part.

Yelp
Stunning hotel with beautiful grounds. But the customer service is awful. They did not follow exact instructions when I had others in my party arriving. They never cleaned the room and even know check out is noon is received a call at 12:14 asking why I have not checked out and they deactivated my keys. Now for $500+ a night I expect more.

Yelp
My friend was in town and was staying here with her mother, and we all got to go to breakfast there. I live relatively close by and have driven past the property a couple times and have always been so curious about it since it's the middle of a great neighborhood in Tucson, kind of tucked away from other attractions. I ordered the salmon benedict, and it was very good. The dining room had a lot of natural light and all in all, it was a really pleasant experience. My friend and I also took a stroll around the grounds, which were in great condition. The other rooms, including the lobby and study are also very nice--lots of historical decor.

Yelp
Ahhhh..... The Arizona Inn Martini. The best in town. A standard-sized, chilled martini glass filled to the rim with a side car of martini waiting to poured in later. Almost two martinis. WAIT! Some rocket scientist decided that was too much of a good thing. Now you get a child-sized martini glass with a splash of martini in the bottom of it and the rest of a stingy pour in the side car. What?!?! I'd pay more for the correct Arizona Inn Martini. Bring it back. It's not like folks go to Arizona Inn for an economical drinks. They go for the experience and you're screwing it up.

Yelp
I once worked here, and returned for drinks tonight with friends. I was saddened at how everything about the Arizona Inn has gone downhill. In place of the once crisp, prompt service, we now waited at the bar for at least 10 minutes to get a drink, or even to be acknowledged by the staff. The weekend manager scowled about, never making eye-contact with any customers. The main dining room is still closed, the decor hasn't changed in 30 years, and everything smells old. And although the prices have kept close pace with inflation--which is to say quite expensive--the overall atmosphere is one of decay, more like a La Quinta than a legendary inn. Very disappointing.

Yelp
My Grandmother and I drove from the foothills of Tucson over to this beautiful Inn. We were headed there for High Tea. When we got there, the tea was set up in the library/sitting room. Very beautiful. It was to start at 3:30. We waited 45 minutes and finally it was time for tea. At that moment we were informed that we could not have tea or partake, because it is for "house guests only". When we walked in and asked about high tea, the receptionist did not mention anything about that. I asked the attendant if we could pay to stay for tea and he said no, unfortunately it was just for guests. I went to the front desk and ask another person if there was a way my grandmother (92) and I could pay to stay for tea. He said only if I wanted to pay for the price of a room for the night, because the tea was included. I told him I did not want a room for the night, I just wanted to have tea with my Grandmother. He told me it was not possible. I cannot believe there was not an exception made for my sweet, cute, 92 year old Grandmother. We would have had one cup of tea in a beautiful setting and maybe one little pastry. It ruined our day. And we will never come back to this Inn for anything. Learn to give better customer service is my advice. Thanks so much!

Yelp
With regard to dining in the bar: beautiful and relaxing ambiance, excellent service, and expensive food that does not quite live up to its price point. Go with friends, go for the ambiance, go for the drinks, and if you order food, it will be fine -- it just won't be great. Three stars for the food/price point (my prevailing concern for this review), but five stars for the ambiance and service. With regard to lodging: Before I moved to Tucson, we spent three or four nights here during the low season (mid-July). Who visits Tucson in mid-July? So the rates were quite reasonable at the time. Quite simply, it's a wonderful place to stay, if you can afford the rates. 5-stars for the lodging.

Yelp
A huge thank you to Forest, Megan, and Jenny for making our stay at the Arizona Inn one of the most memorable experiences. As a Chef, I know the hospitality industry well, and I confidently say that the staff at Arizona Inn knows how to make their guests feel special. Thank you again !

Yelp
This place is utterly charming and is our favorite place to take visitors. We would still take people to walk around but the food now is flavorless and not worth eating!

Yelp
Fantastic quaint dining experience in a small local boutique hotel. I love the fruit and chicken salad and get it each time I am there. There are many different dining rooms and a patio. A little pricey, but you would get that with any hotel (of this calibers) onsite dining options.

Yelp
Holy Guacamole! Food, Room, Service and Amenities were AMAZING!!! What a wonderful gem close to U of A. Beautiful hotel on a lovely campus. Maybe I am not used to Arizona's Hotel's but I think this place is quite original. We arrived just as the sun was setting with a little drizzle. There was a huge downfall a few hours earlier which the locals stated was not the norm. The lawns were perfect and when we arrived I was perplexed. The place did NOT look like a hotel. More of a residence. Wow was I wrong. We were greeted by an amazing young gentleman that was there for us the WHOLE freaking time. Wish I remembered his name but we were there for a lunch and ceremony and then off again. Quick trip, but the 24 hours we stayed there, they were THE most memorable stay in 10 years and I travel for business and many cousins weddings!!! Big family! Anywho... Each room was on a path and had a deck with patio chairs and or table. At night my son and nephews stated it looked like a horror movie. As in...don't go in that alley or why did you turn down that alley. Even my sisters room looked like the room entrance to the shining. OR maybe we were a little freaked out by the thought and kept comparing. Well in the am, the place was lovely and perfect again. The hotel was like the hotels were before and the positive new additions. Stationary and books on shelves and fresh flowers. LOTS of bottled water and the chocolates on the pillow with a pull down service if requested. In the evening the pool was open till 9-10 pm and heated. There is a Sundae social. Lemon sorbet, and ice cream, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry with toppings. Also Croquet. Kids had a big time! I have no idea if there was breakfast, we were doing family things, however we did have late check out and again more water handed to us curb sided as we left after lunch. We had a ceremony at the University and then back for lunch. One of the best lunches EVER. Now expecting the usual rubber grilled chicken with some sort of glazed sauce, random salad and sponge cake, I was ready to pull my eyes out---BOY was I so MISTAKEN. We were a bit early, so we ordered cocktails because Monday at 12:30 is 5 pm somewhere and didn't I put in my time with family? White wine, Arnold Palmers, regular tea and Red wine for the rest, all on the U of A. Thank you again U of A. You're welcome on the endowment. If wondering if you should have lunch there, YESSSSSS. I saw the cheeseburgers to the guests and wanted to dive head first into those. but....waited for our anticipated rubber chicken...or so I thought. Salad was a Caesar and I think the best I have ever had. They took mine a little early, I was really enjoying the whole experience, but OK take it away...sniff sniff and then came the obligatory chicken dish... OMGosh...BEST chicken ever with POTATOES. Thank you for understanding that rice is NOT the only thing that goes with rice. However, what I am trying to say is that the chicken and the potatoes and the carrots were something I could and would order whenever I could get them. Whipped potatoes not too much butter, and 4 small carrots, perfect not too sweet and perfect texture. The Desserts were 3 on a dish. Wow!! A chocolate truffle cake, a creme brulee and a yellow cake with fruit topping. I can't say enough how amazing it was to finish this meal. All were the best I have ever had outside my MOM's and sisters meals and the occasional establishment. Seriously, a wonderful luncheon. Who FREAKING KNEW. As the adults hugged and made sure tickets and kids electronics were in place, the kids played a few rounds of croquet again on their perfect lawn. How cool is that?! So off we are go to our perspective airports and our guy comes out with COLD bottled water. Mind you, we paid for the room, not the University that honored my family member who gave the endowment too, so really they did not have to pamper us so well. But THEY did. If you have an opportunity to go, you will be pleasantly surprised often.

Yelp
This review is based on two visits for breakfast. A+ for ambiance and B- for quality and service. You'll pay top of the range prices for breakfast items and coffee here. The mediocre food is served lukewarm, coffee not refilled and plates not removed. Perhaps they were short staffed. They made an error on my order but failed to address it correctly. You will likely enjoy the setting be it patio, bar or dining room. Returned for breakfast again today. The ambiance remains the draw. Eggs were undercooked and served cool. Order misinterpreted and not clarified. Asked repeatedly for hot sauce and we were well into the meal. Too bad.

Yelp
Fantastic venue for a nice dinner or cocktails . Serene and yet classy. The bar service was great with a very friendly staff. Amazing grounds go walk around when is not so warm. Overall a place for special occasions and lovely brunch and or dinner. Good bar selection of spirits and wine. Come on down and check out this beauty of Tucson. Cheers

Yelp
I am writing to say "Thank you" as well as give 5-stars to Diane Fausett and her team at the Arizona Inn. My parents recently celebrated their 50th Golden Anniversary at the Arizona Inn with a dinner in the Safari Room. Diane was a true pleasure to work with. She coordinated and managed all of the details, big and small, with professionalism and grace. The event was a memorable success! We have also stayed at the Arizona Inn several times. The rooms are wonderfully unique and the hotel is filled with character and history. The grounds are playful and enchanting...We look forward to return visits.

Yelp
Lovely inside & out - we were looking forward to breakfast there; the server was somewhat unfriendly- surly even. Maybe she was having a bad day or just is unhappy with her job. My scrambled eggs were dry & tasteless (how does this happen?) and ordered the bacon crispy since we didn't want it blubbery as sometimes happens. We sent the charred bacon back & nicely asked for replacement. Husband had some kind of waffle tarted up with (canned?) fruit & whipped cream- so of course he was as happy as a 10yr old (no- he's not 10 yrs old). Seriously - we would have done just as well at any Denny's.
