Arkanchi Hotel

Basic, clean hotel in a very good location right in the historic center of Khiva. Beds were comfortable, staff helpful. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was Ok but nothing special. Terrible coffee. The hotel has a rooftop deck, reachable by a spiral staircase, that provides an excellent view of the city at sunrise and sunset.

Stayed here for two nights in September 2024||Pros:|1) The rooms and bathrooms are clean and spacious. |2) The lobby area is also spacious and quite clean.|3) The front desk is manned 24 hours and the staff spoke excellent English.|4) The location is great. It is inside the Ichin Kala and all places are within a few minutes walk.|5) The place is quiet at night and the sleep quality was great.|6) There are plenty of restaurants nearby|7) The breakfast is served reasonably early (7:00 am) and the spread was decent with some vegetarian choices.|8) The WIFI was free with great speed and connectivity|9) The tariff was reasonable.|10) The view from the rooftop terrace is fabulous especially at sunset.||Cons:|1) We would have liked a bit more choices for breakfast.|2) The check-out was quite slow (check-in was fast).

Service and accommodation set this hotel apart -- the location speaks for itself. The staff checked us into a our room when we arrived at 8am, which was a pleasant surprise after a long train ride form Samarkand. They also didn't hesitate to help break large bills for us to do some shopping around the town, and even made us a breakfast box (with specific requests) when we left for a day trip to the Aral sea at 5am (when breakfast normally opens at 7am). The room was comfortable and well-equipped, the showerhead was broken which is a bummer but doesn't warrant a lower rating. Would book here if I returned to Khiva.

I recently stayed at Arkanchi Hotel and had an excellent experience. The service was outstanding, and the rooms were very spacious. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. I would highly recommend this hotel. Its location is ideal, being close to the city center, shopping areas, and various dining options. Overall, a fantastic stay!

Great location if u are in Khiva it’s better to stay in Itchan Kala. Their breakfast was average and rooms mediocre . Bed was not good quality. It’s a decent tourist hotel, I believe most of the hotels will be like that. We stayed 1 night so it was ok.

The best hotel in Arkanchi, very good location for all historical places of ichan kala. Service is excellent, very friendly and supportive. Breakfast is included. High level of hospitality. Thank you Arkanchi !!!

We arrived here at midnight and were taken to our room. I find it hard to reconcile the reviews on here with what I saw. The room was very basic with a grubby carpet that had stains and a hole in it. There were stains on the wallpaper. The bed was hard and mattress thin. The sheet had a stain on it. The furniture was cheap and this didn’t seem like a new hotel unless it had been worn already. The bathroom was basic. The room overlooked a shared walkway with tables and ashtrays on as a non smoker this wouldn’t have been great if people were smoking at the tables. There was no view. This hotel would be fine if you were backpacking. It doesn’t suit older international travellers who are used to quality hotels. We managed to find another hotel and moved that night. I am really disappointed with the tour operator who thought this hotel was suitable.

Although the Arkanchi hotel is located in the old town near to the western gate, taxis can still park right outside the hotel, which is substantial, being on two floors.|Reception staff were polite. I was told of the tourist tax and paid it. The lobby area is large and light with several sofas.|I had a double room on the ground floor, with two single beds. It was of a good size. There was a desk with chair and another easy chair. It had a refrigerator, which unfortunately was not working. The bathroom was modern with a walk-in shower. There was also a kettle for making drinks.|This was the first hotel in Uzbekistan where I found the bed comfortable: all the others had been too firm.|I found the breakfast a bit disappointing, though there was a selection of hot and cold food. I would have liked to have seen more pastries.|I would stay at this hotel again.
