The fastest way to America is through Arkansas Diner. One step into the diner area on the first floor, you are transported to a real street corner diner in America. When you arrive to the second floor, you are whisked to a southern atmosphere which is why the restaurant is named Arkansas Diner. The food is exceptional and I know because there were tables of Caucasians making me feel we were no longer on Kansas...I mean Kaohsiung. Tonight we ordered the pork ribs and the meat was falling off the bone. The deer burger was something that you could not get anywhere that I know and the Mac and cheese was cheezy!! We also ordered the side of chili and the level of spice was perfect. Normally we don't eat dessert but we had to try the local pies and brownie ice cream. They were so good! I can't wait to come back again. Everyone was so friendly and the experience was definitely 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Highly recommend this restaurant!

The food was phenomenal, just like home! The bacon was thick and seasoned, the biscuits and gravy were basically perfect, the Dr. Pepper float was everything I have missed, and the chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich was the perfect end to a meal! The inside first floor is decorated like a old fashioned ice cream shop, and upstairs looks like a smaller version of Cracker Barrel and plays English country songs.

This was a really nice piece of home while not being home. I was really surprised when I found this place, and the food was delicious, from the appetizer to desserts. The raccoon pie was made just a few hours before we ordered it. Homemade deliciousness! Was expecting it to be really sweet but pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t! The staff were very nice and the owner came out a few times to chat with us. Will definitely be back to try more of their food!

Arkansas came recommend by friend. I wasn't expecting much given how most Asian countries treat American food, this however was not a disappointment. The establishment is run by a long time expat and his Taiwanese family and they make the best breakfast I have ever had. I have traveled America and most of Asia but I have never a Southern Style meal as good as this without sitting in someone's home. There is nothing on menu that isn't a smash hit and they routinely do new creations to keep it fresh. They also have an old fashioned milkshake bar downstairs. If you are really committed to going I highly recommend coming on Thursday nights for their home made slow cooked Ribs. Seriously you do yourself a disservice not eating here if you want an authentic American Experience.

A must stop! This is my third time coming here and it’s so yummy. As an American living in Taiwan for a year it was so nice to get a taste of home. The staff and atmosphere is amazing and really welcoming as well.

The first time I came to this place I was skeptical Kaohsiung could offer an authentic experience of a burger from the US of A. Well, it turns out the owner is from Arkansas as the restaurant name implies and as soon as you step into the dining room you can smell the greasiness from the meat patties and fries. That's when I realized I was in for an extremely pleasant eating experience. Being a frequent customer this time I opted for the double Cheese burger. I mean, just look at the picture and video. It looks yummy and it tastes yummy. Everything I've had here is good. I also like their Apple pie.

Back again March '24. Raise rating to 4. Had the ribs and a large salad plus chocolate pecan dessert. Food: Ribs done right, meat falls off the bone. Salad was ok but a bit expensive for what you get. Dessert had good taste, crust was a bit too hard though. Service: This time they allowed us to eat in the ground floor to accommodate my wife which was nice. Service was still good. One negative is they stick to the menu too closely - like typical Taiwan restaurant. An American restaurant would allow slight adjustments to accommodate guest requests. Overall prices a just a bit high. -------- Food is ok. Had waffles plus eggs and tater plate. Friends had pancakes and biscuit burger. Service is good. Tater tots were good. Nice and crispy. We ordered a second helping. ----- Never serve cold butter with pancakes, waffles, bread, etc. Plan ahead and have some ready at room temperature. Waffle was just ok. The syrup was decent.

Yelp
After a week in Taiwan I was craving a little bit of home and found this place! The burger was great! I'll say that the side salad was mostly just lettuce and onions, with one large slice of tomato, so if you were hoping for more vegetables, maybe just order one of the salads on their menu. I got the bbq bacon cheese burger, the chili cheese fries, lemonade, and the brownie sundae. All was great! They played country music and the surrounding walls were all decorated in American themed decor. A very fun spot.

Yelp
Great place to get some visual pleasing and wonderfully delicious slices of Americana. Really cool collection of old toys and music memorabilia. I try to hit this place a couple of times every time I am in Kaohsiung. Give it a try you won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
My frustration and disappointment was partly due to never finding vehicle parking around the area and deterred me to make any further attempt to make a ride back to the restaurant. When today I happened to be in the area again, I made much effort to finally find parking 4 blocks away and sat in my car for 30 min waiting for the restaurant to be open. When I got to the establishment, I had my dog with me in a stroller and enclosed. I must have not seen any signs that dogs weren't allowed, but we were the first and only patrons in the morning. I do not understand when I walk past several restaurants along the way, all welcoming pets with posted signage. Im just disappointed and ask the owner to consider those with pets in carrier or stroller to enter as well. This 1 Star review is my personal experience and do not judge my dining experience and a way for the owner to take notice.

Yelp
I found this place online, by accident and I couldn't be happier. Great atmosphere, very cozy, friendly staff, English menus and great food. The owner is also very friendly, walks by every table and check on each customer. A must visit if you crave good southern American food.

Yelp
Was recommended by a friend and was not disappointed. A large selection of food and drinks - was pleasantly surprised to see Bundaberg ginger beer was on the menu! Ordered the Elvis and the pulled pork burger. The Elvis was an unexpected treat... peanut butter, bacon, and syrup on a biscuit doesn't sound like it would go together, but it does! The burger had a delicious beef patty and pulled pork, which made it a filling meal. A piece of pecan pie for dessert rounded out a great experience! Will definitely be back when I'm next in Kaohsiung.

Yelp
Ok. I've been living in Taiwan for about 7 months and was in need of some good down south food. My friend Caitrin told me about this place and it was amazing. The food was delicious. If you like to try or remember how good American food taste then this is the spot. If your in town try it out.
