We had been planning to visit this museum for several years. We were intrigued by the photos we saw online. The museum’s collection is truly stunning. Kisling’s works are mesmerizing. The medieval armor is impressive with its incredibly intricate design. However, we were disappointed to find that the entrance was not free, even though all the informational sources stated that admission was free of charge. But that's okay — the fee was actually quite small. The main disappointment was that the garden on the museum grounds was closed. I really wanted to visit it. A staff member explained to me that the area is now closed to visitors and is reserved for private events. What does that even mean? I thought the mission of this museum was to be open and accessible to ordinary people. But now it seems that the garden is reserved only for the wealthy. I tried to explain to the guard that I just wanted to step into the garden for a second — just to take a photo — but I was denied even that. And yet I had come such a long way. I walked uphill for over an hour to reach the museum, and then I was refused a single photograph. It’s very sad.

Arkas Art Urla exhibits a selection of paintings, Armour, tapestry and carpets from the Arkas Collection. First the building: a beautiful white two story architecture with supporting columns. The ground floor has paintings, carpets, Armours and tapestry can be seen on the upper floor. Entries are free. The Art House is open only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is wise to call before your visit but a visit to Arkas is highly recommended. My only criticism about the place is for the missing coffee house.

Nice collection of fine art. Really lovely place. You get a glimpse of a modern art laden back garden, but unfortunately it is off limits.

Although the collection is small this museum is well worth a visit. You will mainly find paintings, tapestry and armor. What I liked most though we're the busts of the Roman emperors and, best of all, the marmor models of Roman temples.

Can't believe it but this gorgeous place offers free entry! If you are around this place you should visit it for sure!

A well-sized, very lovely gallery in the countryside. A great collection of Moise Kisling paintings, as well as many others from the turn of the 19th Century. On the second floor there is an impressive assortment of armour and weaponry; a real insight into the art of armour building for the royalty in centuries past. Definitely worth a visit. It is free entry, however it is not open every day (3 days out of the week), so worth calling up and checking they are open. There are audio guides available in English and Turkish for 20liras. We went in April 2022.
