My son and I travelled here very late in the ski season. Both of us were novice skiers and so that didn't go so well, but it was made up for by wonderful time we had in Arosa and at the Arlenwald Hotel.||||The train trip from Chur was incredible and when we got to the hotel, the room was everything you expect a Swiss room to be.||||Heinreich (the owner/manager/host) was extremely welcoming. He (and the rest of his staff) have an excellent command of English which was very good for us. He was most engaging and gave us some significant local history.||||Perhaps the biggest surprise was how fine the food was. We didn't eat anywhere else (except the local chocolate shop...)||||Our skiing did not work out so well, but the hotel provided us with some toboggans and we went on the local toboggan run. We are Australian, so this was a novelty to us. This was not a 50m run down a very mild slope. It was 700m down the side of a mountain! Amazing! Loved it. Kept going back and doing it again. (Arosa provides free bus services which was very handy)||||We had such a great time. We went for the skiing, but next time, we'll go just for the scenery and hospitality.
