The Best Dog-friendly Hotels in the U.S.

"I found the hotel's location within Hot Springs National Park ideal for trail access, appreciated that thermal waters are pumped into the historic spa (though pets can't soak on Bath House Row), and enjoyed nearby Superior Bathhouse Brewery for people-watching while your dog tags along on Central Avenue." - Nina Ruggiero Nina Ruggiero Travel + Leisure Senior Editorial Director Nina Ruggiero oversees T+L's award-winning travel content across digital platforms. Of course the hotel itself is a jewel from the past and we instantly fell in love with the historic charm of this amazing resort. However, it is the wonderful staff that truly brings this place to life. Beyond being accommodating and friendly, the staff goes above and beyond for its guests. On a recent stay at the Arlington en route to Memphis for a recording session, one of the guys in the band inadvertently left behind one of my extremely valuable Gibson acoustic guitars in the room while checking out. Manager Luis Cabrera and the housekeeping staff secured it, notified us and kept it safe until we passed through a couple days later. We absolutely can’t thank them enough. The Arlington will always remain a special place for the Strayhearts and we look forward to seeing our friends there on the next tour!

Google
Fantastic location. Beautiful old historic building. Everything was decorated for Christmas like a winter wonderland!! That’s all the good things unfortunately. Staff was rude and they charge an additional $22 per night for parking. When I asked at the front desk if they validated parking or if they charge those actually staying at the hotel, I was told that every hotel in hot springs charges for parking. I’ve stayed multiple places and can promise you they include parking with the room charge. The room was also very outdated and smelled moldy and musty. Every pillow had stains on them and there were all kinds of stains in the carpet and the carpets were covered in debris. Historic Charm doesn’t include mold, dirty linens, and a general dirty room.

This is a gorgeous hotel. Its old, but it was adequate. Temperature in the room wasnt ideal, but they brought me 4 extra blankets to accommodate me! Service was absolutely phenominal! We made an appointment at the bathhouse on the 3rd floor. That experience was outstanding! Susan was wonderful! Sheila (I think that was her name) was also super friendly. We will definitely be back, and will spend more than 1 night!

Google
We booked a one night stay and didn’t even stay. The rooms are not like the pictures they are disgusting. Our room was on the 6th floor and as soon as you walked of the elevator you were hit with a musty stinky smell. Stained ripped old filthy carpet, which felt wet, holes in walls. Cracked old paint, rusted a/c grates and you can’t adjust the temperature in your room. So it was hot. The staff were nice and friendly. I get this is an old hotel and we have stayed in old hotels that were nice but I would not recommend this facility.

Google
We really enjoyed our stay. It is a 100 year old building and is undergoing renovation/ restoration, so everything isn't pristine. But the friendliness and quality of service was exceptional. The bar & lounge was lovely. We had thermal bath treatments in the thermal spa and it felt great after 2 days in the car. Tyler was a fun and professional bath attendant. My husband enjoyed his bath too! Looking forward to a return visit.

Google
Great location, quirky historic hotel, but in dire need of updates. The room was tired looking and the bathroom was really due for an overhaul. The shower bath combo was somewhat difficult to operate, and the vanity is really old with the cultured marble, top deeply cracked. The tiles were mildewy and there was lots of peeling paint. The doors are keyed and can be difficult to open and the heating and cooling also is a very odd setup. The offsite parking garage was| very full and difficult to maneuver in. We had to park on the top level, which is uncovered. It had been raining all day.So after we parked, we had to walk through four inches of water in the pitch, dark to even get to the driveway. To walk down to the first floor. The hotel does not offer daily housekeeping, which I believe is a post COVID strategy to save on labor costs. The hotel does have a nice ice cream shop in the basement and a really fun bookstore. I did a bathhouse and spa treatment, which was very enjoyable. The staff have a system to run everybody through in an efficient manner. The bath staff were all very professional and friendly. The location is fantastic.Being right, downtown and close to restaurants, little shops, bathhouse row, and the national park, which has miles of walking trails. The staff with whom we did interact were all very nice and helpful. The hotel is undergoing a renovation. So it will be interesting to see how updated the rooms are as they need both electrical and plumbing, as well as cosmetic work.

Google
Relying too much on it's history, rooms should be under $100/night for the condition they're in. Haven't been remodeled since probably the 70s, dirty, mold all over the bathroom. Zero useful amenities, but charged a daily "resort fee" for no reason other than greed. Hot tub didnt even work like the guy at the front desk said. Never again.

Google
I grew up in Hot Springs and I had never stayed at the Arlington. Always staying with family when in town. Since I was attending my 50th High School Reunion which was at the Arlington, I decided this was my opportunity. While all the staff we encountered was so friendly and accommodating, the facilities are very lacking. Our room was like taking a step back in time 50 years. The bed was, thankfully, extrely comfortable. The walls are thin, the pipes knock all night long as well as the faucets dripping. Paint is peeling and bubbled everywhere and the carpets are worn. Every person who walks down the hallway can be heard. I think parking is typical of any downtown hotel in any city. Either valet, if it isn't full, or an old parking garage. Plan to spend $22 to $30 a day. It is very convenient to downtown activity and hiking. For this weekend, it was fine as we could just run up to our room from the reunion, but we won't stay again. If you are in to nostalgia and/or want to be downtown, it works. But, be prepared, it is not new and modern.

Yelp
I saw a lot of mixed reviews but went ahead and booked, and I'm so glad we did! If you are expecting pristine condition, super clean carpets and smelling like pinesol - this ain't it, book elsewhere. If you're okay with some really old carpet, a bit of a 100 year old hotel smell, a few broken tiles here and there and pretty small rooms keep reading! The pool is an absolute vibe. It's on the 7th floor, and basically in the mountainside. There are 2.5 levels of pool area, the first level is 3 ft, the 2nd tier / level is 6 ft, and then a few steps up is the hottub area. We absolutely loved swimming and relaxing in the hot tub here. Towels are always well stocked and very clean overall in the pool area. Nicely maintained. If you want direct access to the pool book level 7 (or 5 & 6 have decent access!). We had a great experience with staff - everyone was very attentive. We parked valet & glad we did, parking seems to be a nightmare otherwise (valet is $30 overnight, in and out privileges fine and quick!). The lobby seems to be really active- live musics on the weekends - lots of singing, dancing, etc. The whole vibe was friendly and very safe. If you would be bothered by the noise, stay on at least floor 2. The massive front porch is so welcoming with lots of seating. The rooms are pretty small, but they do have conjoining rooms. I wouldn't want to be cooped up long term in such a small area, but short term it was great. The rooms also have a mini fridge which is helpful as a family traveling. We found the temp to be perfect, if not a tad chilly (which was welcomed, as it was 102 degrees outside lol!). There aren't extra blankets in the closet but housekeeping brought us some upon request. We tried the breakfast buffet, $15 per adult, I was not super impressed & will probably skip that next time & walk bathhouse row and find somewhere else to eat. We will definitely be back to The Arlington!

Yelp
WARNING!!! WARNING!!!!! WARNING!!!! Do NOT stay here. We were visiting from out of state and decided to book a stay here through Expedia to share in a little nostalgia. Expedia rating is a 4. I have been to several "4" rated hotels and they were clean and safe to stay in. Some were very pleasant. This is NOT the experience here at The Arlington. The staff are outwardly disgruntled, the rooms are in disrepair and a true SAFETY issue. We prepared to check in and noted the lobby and waiting area were dingy and smelly with an ominous sense. I asked to see the rooms before giving our credit card due to the nastiness of the lobby and restaurant areas. We took the elevator to the 6th floor where we were met with the most horrendous stench when the doors opened to the 6th floor. The carpets were filthy beyond comprehension. Upon entering the "Historic King" room (room 628) we immediately saw ripped portions of the wall, paint peeling, a smear of what looked like old blood, repaired holes that were not yet painted, and base boards peeling away from the wall. The pillows on the bed had dirt on them and the window seal was freshly replaced but the vent below it was filled with mold and what looked like rust around the sides. The bathroom shower was molded with rust around the fixtures to the point it looked like it could cut you. The sink leaked and the toilet immediately backed up with a single trial flush. We left immediately. We went back to the desk, shared our concerns and asked for a refund. She shared we cannot get a refund since we booked through and third Party. She also shared "well, it is 100 years old". We have stayed in 100 year old hotels and had beautiful experiences. One being a lovely hotel in Payson, Az. So this is no excuse for unsafe standards. The gal then tried to offer another "better" room so we obliged and went to check it out. Room 772 was not any better. It was again a safety issue and just as disgusting. We went back to the desk. She then stated, I have one more that will likely work, so she gave us a key to room 1104, on the 11th floor. We were no longer surprised by the disappointment in this run down building. We shared with the person at the desk we would not be staying. She advised sharing our experience and l again reminded us of the age of the building. She was not overtly friendly and made excuses but I feel she was trying to help as best she could. There is no helping this place. She said they are under construction but have NOT remodeled ANU rooms so don't be fooled by the new pain on the front doors. Horrible experience at the Arlington Hot Springs. I will share that, although the Arlington would not refund us, we reached out to Expedia where we booked, and they not only refunded us, but also gave us extra cash for our troubles and poor experience. Expedia demonstrated excellent customer service. Than you to Expedia and Vanessa with Expedia.

Yelp
Positives: + Location near baths + Beds don't totally suck. + They have an ice machine? + No Ghosts Negatives: - Mandatory $15/day "resort" fee that was not included in my Expedia payment. Sus. - Rooms are dated and bathroom is Rusty. Paint is bulging and peeling - Can hear neighboring rooms and "activities" therein - Elevators are slow. Very. Slow - Scent of smoke immediately upon going outside. The front of the hotel is full of smokers at night. - $22/night to park in a parking garage that is full. - Parking garage that is crumbling with no stairs to the top. You have to climb the ramp. - No Ghosts This place was in its glory days in the 20s and 30s. They say this place is haunted, but I think the ghosts have all moved out due to the ethereal suckage of the hotel that transcends physical being. The rooms are smallish. The locks.... Well, they use real brass keys (that they brag about) and they charge you $30 if you lose them, and a door lock that's finicky at best, a puzzle box at worst. The hallways give haunted mansion vibes if the grim grinning ghosts stopped grinning, tableflipped and left. Trust the ghosts. Do as they did. There are better haunts elsewhere. I'll be back when Al Capone is.

Yelp
Another great visit- from the valet staff. Mr. Phil, Brandon, Mr. Jimmy and Mr. Shane and all the men who greet us and send us off with a smile. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, and housekeeping does a great job! Work continues on the building and it shows! The dining service has returned to its former level of glory and brunch today was outstanding!!!! Beautifully displayed, constantly being refilled, and it was delicious! Our kudos to the Chef and to our server Olivia for the most enjoyable brunch! We look forward to the next visit!

Yelp
This place is wild. The lobby is super fun with live music, a large bar, and nice porch to people watch outside. The swimming pool is unique in that there are two levels, two pools , and one hot tub. You can bring a small cooler for pool drinks. The rooms are a whole different story. They have a historical feel with old fashioned furniture. The rooms are "shabby chic" as there are holes in the walls, peeling paint, wallpaper and chipped bathroom tile. When you get off the elevator, the halls are dimly lite like the hotel in the moving The Shinning. The bathrooms are very small and the shower was disgusting. I wore my flipflops in the shower because it was so gross. Lastly, the walls are super thin. At 2am I was woke up by 3-4 guys in the room next door stumbling drunk. I didn't try the restaurant or the spa. I won't stay here again. There are other hotels that look way nicer.

Yelp
It's historic and it's pretty cool but keep in mind it's OLD and the Rooms are scheduled to go under renovation by next year. We went it was jam-packed. Valet and All other Parking completely full. Had to find a spot on the street next to the Hotel. With that all said Beds and Room were fine. Fire Alarm on Friday Night was quite an eventful moment, especially walking down stairs from a top floor. Went to Live Music in other venues because the Lobby was jam packed for the Music at the Hotel. Bar was always FULL so my usual hanging out at the Bar for a night cap wasn't in order. All this to say it was an authentic experience we enjoyed but probably just a one-timer until they renovate the rooms.

Yelp
I visited Hot Springs for the eclipse and I did *not* stay here. And, after looking at the pictures other reviewers posted, I'm very glad I didn't. My review is for the lobby, lobby bar, and the downstairs shoppe area (downstairs has tile floors, a bookstore, a record store - real vinyl, so for the first time ever I'm writing "shoppe" instead of "shop"). The lobby and lobby bar are fantastic. The service I received at the bar was excellent and, more tellingly, the service I saw others receiving was also excellent. As another reviewer noted, hard liquor is the way to go here...or, a Coke. The downstairs area with a local ice cream parlor (that had sold out by Monday, 4/8), an independent bookseller, and a true record store was great. There's also a barber shop (because...of course there is!), and while the layout is simple, it's a great feel down there. Finally, the veranda around front and sides of the hotel is amazing. If you have the opportunity to get a drink from the lobby bar and walk outside and enjoy the setting, please do so. You'll be glad you did. My hope is that by patronizing these non-room amenities, the hotel can continue its much needed renovations.

Yelp
The front desk are really kind and did a great job. The rooms, pools, and outdoors are broken and dirty. *see pictures* The lobby is beautiful and clean. The decor/furniture is Asian inspired. Room has a fridge and ur standard coffee machine, there's no microwave. Room key is not key cards. They use house keys. It's a $20 per key if lost or not returned to front desk. Hotel parking *see pictures* you do pay. The self parking garage looks so sketchy and dirty. The only free parking is if you park in the street next to the hotel or behind Fat Jack's but that's a long distance if your walking to the hotel. Some street parking do have meters so do be vigilant. There's no free breakfast. But there is room service *see pictures* only on the weekends and at certain times or pay for hotel self serve breakfast buffet. This town closes down early. So if you're hungry or want a late night snack there's gas stations near. We do enjoy the live bands that play here. The hotel bar has a small choice of beers and they have some local brews and your most common cocktails. A tad bit pricey, but that's everywhere here unless you go to Maxine's or Boogies. A tad bit cheaper there. This hotel has been in construction for many years. Hopefully it gets completed soon. It's the oldest hotel here and it's worth to be well taken care of. But for now the price you pay it's not worth staying here. I will come back and review again and hopefully then it'll be better.

Yelp
Wow. Wish I could give more stars. To begin this is a review of the hotel bar in the lobby. We didn't actually stay overnight in the hotel. Lobby and bar area are lovely. Clearly a lot of restoration is happening. Most of it looks amazing. In a couple of years I'm sure this place will be fully restored to its original glory. My husband and I stopped in to see the lobby and have a cocktail. Hard liquor is clearly the route to go here. My Prosecco and my husband's beer were terrible local brands. My Prosecco should have been thrown out a day or two ago. Yuck. My husband's IPA ran out of CO2 halfway through the pour. The bartender threw out the half glass, went to get a new canister and left him waiting. For a really long time. It would have been kind to give him the half glass while waiting. After the new canister was installed the bartender seemed to forget why he got it in the first place and took other orders while my husband got progressively grumpier. On a positive note, the lobby is gorgeous, many of the mixed drink cocktails come in beautiful coupe glasses and the bartenders are using fresh orange peel and other fruits. Unfortunately most of the liquor appears to be a local Little Rock distillery. Yuck.

Yelp
Once upon a time this was the crown jewel of Hot Springs. It can be that way again but some hard decisions must be made. The first of those decisions is to shut down large sections of the hotel completely to fully renovate them. The patchwork piecemeal strategy is not working. Figure out a way to incorporate your employees so they can still earn some money but it's the only way. Once this irreplaceable piece of history is restored to her former glory you can charge $350-$550 a night! There's paint and plaster peeling EVERYWHERE! There is not one place in the hotel where I did not see chipped and peeling paint. The tubs and tile in the bath house on the walls and floors needs to be demoed and replaced. It's giving haunted early 19th century sanitarium right now and sticking cheerful butterfly stickers on the wall is not helping. Our room had new windows but I've seen nicer bathrooms on US Army firing ranges (if you know, you know) green corrosion around the exposed toilet plumbing, shower curtain rod fixtures covered in rust, towel racks covered in rust, bars and racks inside the tub coming apart, mildew in the grout. No fan to reduce moisture in the bathroom during showers. The shower head was so low I had to bend over to get my hair wet and I'm only 5'4". The shower curtain was not waterproof so water got everywhere and the spray on tub enamel was peeling. The carpet in the room had not been shampooed I'm certain since 1967 as it had stains everywhere and we refused to walk on it barefoot because of the way it felt on our feet. The King sized bed dipped in like the letter V so my husband and I constantly rolled into the middle and the headboard was not attached fully. We discovered that our TV and coffee maker didn't work and we let the front desk know and they replaced it quickly but it took room service all day to pick up our breakfast coffee fixings We went to the horse races and were at the tracks until 5:30pm and the coffee pot and fixings were still outside the door, when we called to order dessert they didn't believe us. I'm giving The Arlington three stars because its location cannot be beat and their brunches and buffet meals are excellent and their night time lobby entertainment is fun. I'm sad that such a grand lady has fallen into such a state. I wish they could get a grant to restore this historic site.

Yelp
This historic beauty is a really neat place to stay in Hot Springs. The location is PERFECT--all the best spots are within walking distance. The lobby bar was hoppin' all weekend long and the lively crowds were great for people watching. The hotel is under renovation, so be prepared for some dust, but it didn't take away from the stay one bit. The historic features, even in the "remodeled" rooms, made our stay charming and unique. It's part of the experience here. Don't let a little rust scare you.

Al S.

Yelp
My daughter and MIL were in town for the weekend, so we booked the brunch. The service was non-existent. After 15 minutes we had to ask for water. A waitress in another section brought us water. Our waitress came by and took our bar order. After 30 minutes the three mimosas and one diet coke had not arrived. We had to ask the hostess where they were. They were brought immediately by the hostess; however, we were almost done with our food by then. Our waitress shows up again explaining she was with a large party and had only been on the job two weeks. It's funny how poor service and awkward handling of the situation can stifle the good vibe you had when you walked in the door. I'd give zero stars if I could.

Yelp
This historic hotel is the centerpiece of Hot Springs. It is currently undergoing much needed renovations. For as beautiful as it is, there are a lot of opportunities including peeling paint in the rooms and very difficult to open rooms with traditional locks requiring keys. The hotel provided maintenance to help very quickly when we had difficulties with the lock. I look forward to returning to see the completed renovations.

Yelp
We honeymooned at The Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa 46 years ago and have been coming back every chance we get. We came and stayed 4 nights over the NYE weekend and enjoyed it so much. I love to sit in the lobby and watch people come through the revolving door and be in awe of the beauty of this place and the big gingerbread house. My hubby loves hiking and the hot tub! Our room was perfect and every hotel staff we came in contact with were courteous and helpful. Yes the hotel has some scrapes and scratches but it is an historic hotel and is very nostalgic. The Arlington is like home away from home for us. God willing we will be back again soon! One suggestion bring back the free popcorn for the lobby see you again soon!

Yelp
I went to the spa for my very first massage with my sister for her Bachelorette weekend. We were set up for 8am massages just to get there and find out they don't start til 9 so they made a mistake which was fine it happens. Since we were already undressed and in our sheets, this very nice woman let us sit in the spa and then we relaxed on these bed/tables before our massages started. 15 minutes before nine they told us the people were there so we could go back to get our massages. Right before we got them I heard the woman who was about to do mine loudly say "Yeah idk what's going on because we don't do massages until 9 but for some reason here we are.. this isn't right." And she sounded mad. I scheduled a deep tissue not thinking of what that meant I was just thinking massage. As she was massaging me I was almost in tears from how much pain I was in and she could tell it was hurting but said things like "It's a deep tissue massage, what did you expect?" And "Do you wanna do this because it seems like you dont?" Also, "I changed up the massage because you obviously couldn't handle the deep tissue." I told her after the first rude comment that I never had a massage before and I didn't realize what deep tissue meant. That part was on me for sure but the way she treated me & how much pain I was in during felt intentional... her name was Michelle and I wouldn't recommend her at all. They aren't all bad because my sister loved the man she got. I'm not a sensitive person either. She was definitely mad and took it out on me.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars I would! This is a DUMP!!!! I'm sure one could get a nicer and cleaner room at the motel six than this place. I felt like I walked into trash. The paint was peeling off the wall, the furniture and carpet looked like it has never been cleaned for years. The bathroom looked like it's decaying.

Loren H.

Yelp
It's always nice when you have to ask for room service 3 times and they still never show up.. coming back from hiking the National park in 80+ degree weather with no towels to shower with is insane. Front desk person gave us no information about any amenities in the building. I saw they were having some type of cookout on the deck to which I asked more information about. His response? "yeah, they're cooking". Parking garage is dark, sketchy, glass everywhere, and no elevator or stairs. So you have to walk down the steep ramp and risk getting hit by cars. Not ADA compliant in the slightest. Decent hotel for the price and needing something in a great location, just don't except good service. Lots going on in the lobby. Just wish we could have been given info about it rather than having to look it up on our phones when the wifi decided to work.

Yelp
The best location in downtown Hot Springs. The staff here are incredibly courteous and polite. Everyone is so kind and accommodating. True some rooms are a bit dated, but that's literally what you're coming here for. Is to step into that Time Machine. They're currently doing renovations, but are very mindful of the work hours and areas. We didn't hear any construction noise at all. The self parking garage is a separate building a half block past the hotel, that was confusing and slightly inconvenient. But once again, this is a warm and friendly atmosphere and only G*d is perfect. If you appreciate respect and peacefulness, this hotel is an excellent choice.

Yelp
This hotel is massive and stands out as the largest and most magnificent building in Hot Springs. They care for it so much that it is constantly under loud and laborious construction. The room includes a large list of amenities: 2005 tv, desk, chair, and bed. Bed was broken in half. I would, however, recommend this hotel if you enjoy horror movie hotel vibes.

Yelp
The rooms are small but my husband and I are small people so that was ok with us. The temperature is controlled by the hotel and supposedly the same in every room. The did offer us a fan and we have been comfortable. My husband is 5 ft 5 and hits his head on the shower head. The keys are old school keys and you will be charged $30 each if you don't return them to the front desk. The staff is RUDE! Everyone from valet who lost our key to front desk manager to dinning room. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR ENGERY ON THE SEAFOOD BUFFET. Fire alarm was set off in the middle of the night. Elevators are TINY and slow. Needs lots of repairs. But at one time this must have been a magnificent place.

Rene' B.

Yelp
Dealt with several different workers checking in. They must have horrible management or hate their job because they were all very rude. There is lots of hidden charges they didn't tell you about made our stay double what we thought we booked for and we did not get any extras. They just handed us our keys and didn't even tell us our room number, where the elevators were. Nothing. They have regular metal keys to your room, they do not work like normal locks just putting your key in and turning yet they didn't explain they. Someone walking by after we were trying and trying took the time to show us. Another customer not staff. Someone had a dog and it barked on and off all night. Couldn't get a decent sleep. I understand this is a very old hotel however they should do some maintenance. The bathroom was pretty pretty bad. Stains all over the carpet in the room, I wouldn't feel comfortable taking my shoes off.

Yelp
Renovation and restoration are ongoing and ongoing. A definite 2.5. Needed an overnight stop on the way to see family. Called while driving and got a package that included a Queen mineral bath room and a Christmas breakfast buffet for two in the morning. Was told that it would not be the full spread, but it would include eggs, biscuits, toast, gravy, breakfast potatoes, sausages, fresh fruit, coffee, tea and juice. Checked into a historic room. Charming from the turn of the century, chipped paint and all. Locks require an old key that you have to jiggle in the lock. Use the old chain at night for extra security. I remember seeing these back in the day. The Queen mineral bath room had a nice Queen bed with a comfy duvet. The bathtub is long enough for a 6' adult to lie down completely. The water was hot, hot, hot. They offer chemicals at the front desk for treatment, but the mineral waters are regularly tested so we did not use them. Nice to be able to start and end the day with a relaxing bath. The hotel itself is tired. The front stairs are closed due to safety issues. The side entry was locked, so had to go around the building to enter. This was poorly marked. The lobby was decorated for the holidays. Cute gingerbread house with so many candies and a train running around the house. Would have probably given a three, but Christmas morning was quite disappointing. Was told again that there would be a decent breakfast served in the Magnolia Room. Have never been to a breakfast where there are more servers than breakfast options. For $10, they served cold eggs, cold biscuits, cold congealed gravy, sausages (which we don't eat) and toast for Christmas breakfast. No butter, but small jars of strawberry jelly and plastic packets of peanut butter were available. There were also packets of cereal available as well. Drinks were included. Tipped our waitress 25% because it is not her fault that the breakfast was inedible. At 9, they sent a family with a baby away because they said that they needed the serving dishes for the Christmas brunch at 11. Location is great. Walking distance to historic Bath Row. Although we enjoyed the mineral bath which was one of the few options to take a mineral bath on Christmas, I would not recommend if the other baths are open.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here and the lobby is gorgeous, the rooms aren't that posh though. It's an historical hotel that many of Hollywoods actors and actresses and Mobsters stayed in back in the day. Al Capone had his own floor reserved. I wish the rooms were posh and luxurious like the lobby but it's in a great location. This is a big spot for weddings and spa stays. It's a little creepy feeling at night the place is haunted and you feel the eerie vibe

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner this evening at The Venetian Restaurant inside The Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs! We were on the fence of going in because of the price and have never ate here before but then Jason approached us! He was so kind and took the time to show us around and tell us about the options that were available this evening....we were sold! Then to make things even better our server, Maya, was amazing! She checked in the right amount of times to make sure we had everything we needed and that our glasses were never empty. Oh my, Derrick, that was handling the pasta bar was on point! We couldn't believe he had only been doing it for four months! We will definitely be returning next time we're in town!

Yelp
I'd like to comment on the Friday night seafood feast at the Arlington resort restaurant. It was strongly hyped when we made our room reservations. For $55 each we thought we would give it a try. You might think "seafood feast" would mean at least two things: seafood and feast. If feast means a large amount of food to choose from, that much was true. Fried shrimp. Peel and eat shrimp. Catfish. Trout. Frog legs. So far it's river food. Mac and cheese, dirty rice with no flavor, hush puppies, the same frozen crab cakes I get at my country grocery. Various previously frozen desserts, either mushy or dried out. Fruit tray: honey dew and cantaloupe. I also tried the sea part of the offerings...mahi mahi, salmon, snapper...eyes closed you could not tell them apart. All were consistently bland and rubbery. We ate because we were there. Huge disappointment. Any chef who cannot prepare fish properly should not attempt a special seafood offering. If you ever find yourself at the Arlington Do NOT give in to the temptation to eat this food.

Yelp
The room was so rundown & dirty! The bed frames were falling off. The window unit was dripping on the carpet. Then we got to the bathroom! Rust and mildew everywhere. We immediately checked out. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Yelp
I put this hotel because of the location. I stay here several years ago at that the hotel had notices posted they were during renovations. Moving forward today. My room feels old, the bathroom old with no counter space, lighting is poor. But my biggest concern is, trying to get in the room with the key is very frustrating and the same goes with trying to get the door open to leave is just as frustrating.

Yelp
We came to the Arlington for the bath house. The historic building is old with character and was expected to not be a new luxury hotel. In it's time it was a beautiful hotel! The bath house attendants greeted us and explained everything to us step by step. Our attendant was Susan and she was amazing! Very caring and made us feel comfortable. Susan explained the history of the hotel and made sure we enjoyed every moment of our mineral bath. My children loved it. I spent time with my daughter while my son and husband enjoyed their own mineral bath. The Arlington accepts children while other bath houses do not. The experience and memories will be remembered.

Yelp
Well, they had a room and it was once was the pride of Hot Springs. It needs a major make over and staff that take pride. The good was they had a room and it is close to all of the nighttime places to go! Upon arrival on a mid afternoon Saturday, the valet parking was full and were directed to the parking garage down the street ($21 bucks a day or $4 an hour.) We were not allowed a place to temporarily park to unload and check in. (Later, I saw them allowing that.) Thus we had to haul our stuff from parking garage a quarter of a block away. The garage is not very well designed or maintained and the parking spaces don't fit pick ups, larger SUVs and vans. Thus patrons were taking 2 spaces. No elevator, just walk the steep slippery ramp. At light, the top deck has minimal lighting. The top floor lot also has poor drainage and the water puddles were huge and deep. The following morning, 2 people were blocked in by other badly parked vehicles. Check-in was filled with "you can'ts", "we don't have", lose the key and we charge. Deposits will be refunded after 30 days. (Wow, and they don't pay interests! Sounds like a great racket of making money off deposits, especially with the high inflation these days!) We felt so welcomed, not! Off to the room. Yes, this hotel is over 100 years old and the poor maintenance keeps it looking its age. The carpet is old, worn and stained. Edges and corners aren't vacuumed very well. lots of debris on the carpet you will feel with bare feet. The ceiling has blistering paint. The walls have peeling paper. The bathroom needs a strong bleaching. Wood rot near shower door. Although, most won't notice as the lighting is pretty poor. The shower door wouldn't stay closed. The shower height is about 5'4. The sink is best used with your eyes closed as it was disgusting. The toilet looked like something out of a 50's office bathroom. The fridge was on, but warm on the inside. The register over the radiator is rusty and nasty looking. The paint around the window was similar to the bathroom door, decades of repainting over peeling paint. The desk chair height could not be raised. A couple of decent items - The lumpy bed was actually really soft! It was good I brought my own pillow as the pillows were badly stained. Seriously, do not stay here. History has not been kind to this old building!

Yelp
If it wasnt for my company paying for it I would have left. Place is filthy. I am actually thinking of going to Walmart and buying a tent and sleeping on the job site. Maybe they are hoping the eclipse will be dark enough where folks cant see the filth.

Yelp
OMG I just stayed here for the first time and had the best time. Not only was it fun to wonder around the hotel and just imagine and picture the things that happen in the past but to just sleep in the bed. It felt just like feathers and clouds. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. I get it is a historical building, but historical doesn't need to be dirty and gross. The baseboards in the rooms had LAYERS of dust and dirt. The shower...don't look up because it is moldy. The walls were stained and the plaster was peeling off. Everyone we met in the elevator were also disgusted with the state of their rooms. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the proximity to cool restaurants. I want to go home and clean myself with bleach after staying there.

Yelp
This is a historic and cool place famous people like babe Ruth have stayed here pools are awesome a little outdated but worth the location

Yelp
The Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa must have been a grand hotel in its day. You can still see glimpses of that grandeur in the beautiful lobby/bar area, but my room needed updating and fresh paint. It appeared that renovations were underway, but I stayed in one of the older, unrenovated rooms and cannot speak to what updates have been accomplished in other rooms. I'm sure with a space this large, renovations/remodels are costly, but I'm hopeful it will be accomplished. I would love to see this hotel after it's shown some love.

Yelp
My friends and I booked a two night stay in this hotel. I'll start on the positive side, the bed was comfortable and clean and the staff were polite and extremely hard working especially with how under staffed they were. My Fiance and I stayedin the 800 block of rooms and our room had wallpaper peeling and several holes in the plaster. To say the bathroom was dated would be generous, the shower head is at a height that would be more appropriate for the average height of the 1940s and the stall itself is on the smaller side. The sink in our suite was constantly dripping to the point where we had to place a qash rag in the sink to stop the noise. The baseboards in the suite looked like they hadn't been wiped down in atleast six months. The $15 buffet style breakfast was the same you'd get at a lower end hotel chain, with the other breakfast options in the area I'd recommend skipping it. Additionally, a note on the pricing the price you see per night is before they add a $15 resort fee and a $50 incidentals fee and a fee for parking per day between $22 and $30.

Yelp
After decades of staying at the Arlington and defending/convincing friends and family to join us...no more. We recently completed our final stay at the Arlington during the 2024 Arkansas Derby... Issues started the moment we pulled onto the property...as always - the valet was full and the drop off area was in complete disorder. We were directed to the parking garage down the street. The parking garage should have been condemned years ago - it is poorly lit, parking spaces are not lined, and this facility was never purpose built for parking large SUVs or trucks. In addition they attempted to over-charge us...$37 despite the stated fee of $22...alternative parking is several more blocks beyond the parking garage for an additional fee... The check-in process is a real joy...more don'ts than do's, including a lecture about loosing the actual turn of the century brass keys. One of our keys didn't work at all and we had to get assistance from the staff to initially get the door open - a swift kick to the door had it open...no offer from staff to replace the key that clearly didn't go to our room... The room was beyond filthy. The carpet was stained, the furniture is stained..the stains have stains. The musty smell in the room is enough to knock you over. Our room this trip was on the fourth floor with a superior view of the backside roof of the hotel. See pics - covered in trash and as filthy as our room. Less than inspiring. The bathroom had a broken back bar shelf above the toilet and the shower is something out of a horror movie - complete with mold and paint coming off the ceiling. The vent in the shower was rusted beyond it in even being serviceable. The bed & linens were ok. Broken fixtures through out the room rounded out the experience for this guest space... I finally had enough and called into the hotel on the way to Oaklawn and asked to speak to the general manager, or manager on duty..I was told by the young lady on the phone that a manager was not available. I expressed my surprise - keep in mind - this has to be their busiest weekend of the year and no manager available - you can't make this up - her reply, "it's the weekend." She then told me she would connect me with Carmen - I was on hold from the hotel all the way to Oaklawn..No Carmen...I gave up... There is more but I think you get the idea. The condition of this property has nothing to do with its age despite being under perpetual construction - it is neglected and lacks basic up keep and cleaning..it doesn't take anything to clean windows, pick up the trash, and pressure wash the filth... The reality is that there are far nicer properties to stay in Hot Springs - some are even historic and beautifully maintained - check out the Waters, a Hilton Property.

Yelp
This is my 2nd stay at The Arlington, my first stay was in the 90's. I will say I think it is something everyone has to do at least once in their lifetime, but we probably won't stay at The Arlington on our next visit. Some positive aspects of the hotel are the lobby, the Venetian Dinning Room, and the location. The Arlington is at the center of town and within walking distance to everything, the lobby is beautiful and we enjoyed listening to live music each night, The Venetian Dinning room was breathtaking, but so thought the all you can eat seafood buffet was overpriced for what you get. The negatives are the rooms and the hallways. When we got off of the elevator the hallway smelled of weed, even though we were on a nonsmoking floor, the hallway was also very dark. Our room had peeling wallpaper, and the trim was covered in dust, the bathroom was also tiny, and the sink leaked. They were also working on the rooms right next to us so we were awoken each morning at 7:30 am with the noise of hammers and saws. We also never had anyone come to clean our room or bring us towels. I get that they want to keep the nostalgia of the place, but the rooms are in desperate need of upgrading.

Yelp
We love the Arlington. If you are into history and historical locations, it is absolutely perfect. If you're looking for new or modern accommodations, it's probably not for you. You can't beat the location on the strip. It is our favorite go to when we want to hang out in Hot Springs. They have a lobby bar that has a band on the weekends, they have a dining room, and they have a small Starbucks. It is right down the road from the famous Pancake Shop and other cute shops.

Yelp
This place is an old hotel with lots of history. Al Capone stayed here and rented the whole floor out. The drinks at the bar were great. They even have a bottle of Louis Xlll that is only $200 a shot and 7k for the bottle. Neat little things

Yelp
We had stayed here with a group of friends this weekend. we loved everything about Hot Springs and the area, but we didn't enjoy the hotel at all. Our room smelled like mildew, the sink leaked constantly, the paint and wallpaper were peeling off the walls, and the shower is short!! My husband and I are both over 6 feet tall, and it is not tall person friendly. The rooms are incredibly difficult to get into and the man checking us in didn't give us any instructions on how to use the keys. We had to call maintenance to let us in. There were hidden "resort fees" and $50/per day incidental fees as well on top of paying $22 a day to self park since Valet was full. I believe Valet was $30 a day. Breakfast is not included. We paid over $400 for a Friday and Saturday night, got nickel and dimed to death on a less than mediocre hotel, and then paid $15/person for a less than mediocre breakfast buffet with an overworked and understaffed wait staff. For a historic "five star hotel" it was incredibly disappointing and I will not stay there again. Positives - bed was comfy, water pressure was good, and Mamoo's Creamery is delicious!!!

Yelp
I would not recommend this hotel. Renovations have been taking place for over 5 years. I was a part of a large organization that acquired accommodations here. It was very disappointing. Most of our party were not offered renovated rooms. The rooms we stayed in were very dirty (carpets, floors, walls, doors, bathroom and mold on the curtains)! Paint peeling and damaged furniture and decor. Needless to say, we were charged FULL price for each room. The staff and service was acceptable. The pool was not bad. Except the metal ladders were broken and falling apart. Also, there was a staff member who was taking pictures of women laying out at the pool! The one I witnessed was a minor female! Yes, management was informed. Not sure what happened to him. Stay away from this hotel until I'm renovations are completed. Maybe 10 years or so!

Yelp
Do not stay here. You'll regret it. We had a four night reservation and left after one night (approximately eight hours after checking in - and the only reason we didn't check out immediately is because we arrived after 10pm). Now we get to argue with them for getting our money back after being put in a mold filled room. The health department needs to shut this place down until their renovation is over

Yelp
We stayed over July 4th week and enjoyed it so much! It was our second time there and both times we were happy with everything! The day we checked in they had a big water leak and they run their ac with a water system so our floor was HOT! They moved us to another room that was cooler! They worked hard to fix the problem very quickly- all the staff was so apologetic and sincerely sorry for any inconvenience. We absolutely would recommend The Arlington to everyone! It's a truly unique experience! So much history!

Yelp
Parking situation is a joke. Valet was full of non hotel guest. Had to park a block away in their parking garage that should have been condemned 50 years ago. Staff was about as helpful as the teats on a boar razorback. Seafood buffet was another joke. Fried shrimp straight from Sam's and only had spinach for salad, what decent restaurant only has spinach salad. Will never go back. And you should seriously consider someplace else.

Joe W.

Yelp
I will never stay at this hotel again! Very misleading information and pictures on the website. Yes, the public areas seem nice, but our room was terrible! It was absolutely filthy! Our bathroom was just as dirty as could be. Carpet was filthy, walls were cracked. This was our first trip to Hot Springs , and on any return trip we will not stay here. This hotel may have been a luxury hotel in Capone's day, and I think that was about the last time the rooms were updated!

Yelp
The best thing about this hotel is that it's historical. We wanted to experience the mineral bath in a mineral room. Our room was rundown. The curtains had been ripped from the tracks. There were stains on the carpet. The tub was chipped and rusty for a room that's marketed for a hot spring bath. To top it off, the room was hot! The heat and ac for the entire hotel is an either everyone has it, or no one does. The staff was unfriendly and a little entitled. We got our money back and stayed somewhere else.

Yelp
Y'all the hotel is a just an absolute shit hole. Very much unkept. I've stayed here before and might just stay again bc it's convenient. Beds are OkayISH, the water barely gets hot and the rooms are absolutely dilapidated. It's in a central location and all of our people were staying there so we did it too. The bands in the lobby are ok but the people watching is where the interest is.

Yelp
This hotel is great, keep in mind it's a historical landmark on "federal property" we have been told by our desk attended. We booked a one night stay with a king bed no room in particular for our 13th anniversary, just have always seen this gorgeous building on our many adventures to hot springs and have always talked about staying the night. We where lucky enough to get room "667" (but really 666) we went into this stay as an adventure and yes that it was, yes rooms are dated, yes furniture is dated but isn't that the point, possible could update the bedding for sure, otherwise we found the hotel charming and much appreciated all the originality they managed to keep. Definitely get the blast from the past working into the 1920ish feeling. We where NOT bother by any huntings/ghost more so just the living being the walls are thin. Hall ways are long and lighting is gloomy but still charming. If you go in for the historical aspect and can appreciate old builds it's a enjoyable place to stay.
