Hotel and restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. Rooms were well appointed and exceptionally clean. The location was perfect for downtown tourism. Located at the northwest corner of Millennium Park, home of the "bean" monument, Buckingham Fountain, and Art Institute of Chicago, and one block away from pickup point for water taxi and architecture river tours. Walk to Sears Tower, (aka Willis Tower) took about 20 minutes. I would definitely recommend Arlo Chicago to anyone visiting the Windy City!

I travel a lot for fun (mainly) but sometimes for work. Of 500+ nights I've spent in hotel rooms this stay marks the 5 nights I've spent in a hotel room. My issues with the hotel are the deceptive practices they use to earn incremental revenue, living bed bugs in the rooms, faulty room design, and awful (comedic) level of customer service. I would stay away at all costs. If I was given a free stay I wouldn't even stay here. I called in to the hotel around 10am the day of my check in and asked if I could check in around 1040a. The gentleman who answered said yes, if there is a room available. There was no mention of an early check in. When I arrived the gentleman who checked me in said I would be subject to a $50 early check in fee. In all the nights I've ever spent at hotels I've never been charged such a fee. I asked him how the policy works and his response was you won't be charged if you come back around 2-4p. But after checking in the fine print (attached says it only applies to check ins before 12p. Had I known this I would've eaten at the ground floor restaurant and waited it out. But the front desk clerk misinformed me to upsell the early check in. To me this is dishonest and borderline stealing. Phased I got to room 511, a lower floor room. Immediately I noticed the tv wasn't working so I had to put in a request to get it fixed, at this point it was 11:15a. Then upon opening sheets I noticed a living bed bug, photo attached. So at around 11:30am I brought the bed bug down to the lobby and the same gentleman didn't bother to apologize about the inconvenience. I had to ask them to give me a new room as it seemed like the hotel's bed bug was an issue for the customer. This is the first hotel I've ever stayed at that had this issue. Given how much time was wasted, it was 11:45a before I got into the other room. Upon entering the new room, there was no water, and only one robe. The walls are incredibly thin, and the destination fee is a joke. They mention it gives you a fifteen dollar dining credit, which is a joke it only apparently works for dinner. And when you charge the dinner to the room they don't even take the $15 off the bill. Overall this hotel is a horrible establishment. The level of nickel and diming customers is abysmal and the customer service is awful- doesn't even know how to empathize with a customer.

Love this hotel in the heart of magnificent mile! Best staff and location is super close to Millennium park and the other attractions ! Unique and more of a boutique hotel ! BeautyFULL rooms and comfortable beds!! New bathrooms

This hotel is awesome. Right next to everything. Literally, almost everything touristy is in walking distance. Service here was excellent. Friday staff. There's also a restaurant, although we didn't try their food, their cocktails were good. We got a room in the 16th floors and it was magnificent. Great views and really modern and simple. Will 100% stay here again.

Perfect location! Downtown on Michigan Avenue, I could walk everywhere I wanted to go. The hotel is very close to many sites such as the Bean, and it was easy to get to Lake Michigan, museums, Navy Pier, great restaurants, etc..I even walked to the hotel from the train station. Very friendly staff. Ebony at the front desk took excellent care of me, and Ian at the restaurant provided excellent service as well. The restaurant had a full bar and delicious food. I ate there a few times. The hotel is very modern and chic. I love modern decor so I really enjoyed it. The hotel room was very spacious and even had a little sitting area by the Nespresso machine where we enjoyed our espressos. Our room also had a desk, safe, refrigerator, and an alarm clock that was also a charging station for electronics. We also had plenty of drawer storage in the bed frame, and a large bathroom with a barn door. The lights automatically come on when you enter the bathroom. There were also lights around the beds so if you get up in the middle of the night--as soon as your feet hit the ground, these lights turn on so you can see. It's very clever but it can also wake up your friend in the next bed. I also appreciated the coat hooks on the wall as soon as you enter the room. We each were provided with 2 complimentary bottles of water each day, which was a nice perk because we did so much walking and needed to stay hydrated. The room had everything we needed and more! I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again.

This is an awesome hotel, located in the center of everything you'd want in the Windy City. On North Michigan Avenue kitty-corner from Millenium Park, it's close to many attractions including the old Marshall Field's store on State Street not to mention all of the restaurants and shopping on Michigan Avenue. Rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. We did not try the on-site bar/restaurant but it always seemed busy when we went by. Recommended.

I had booked a room for my wife's birthday. Unfortunately my wife and gen myself got really ill (COVID) and we're unable to travel. We called both the travel service and the hotel to let them know in plenty of time that we were ill and asked if we could push the trip out for a few weeks. Which wasn't possible. The hotel was very professional in assisting me with my issue.

We spent 3 nights here and greatly enjoyed our stay. Located approximately 1 mile from Union Station, it is quite possible to walk to send from easily. Our check-in process was prompt and easy. The room was clean and welcoming. The room was not overly large but it met our expectations and was very comfortable. There was some city noise at night, but that is to be expected. Above all, the location of this hotel is fantastic, allowing for easy walking to many locations.

Great location for river walk, museums, restaurants, subways, elevated trains, etc. Staff was always helpful and friendly.

Arlo just opened in Chicago and the artwork is just amazing! The hotel features a cute little bar with an outdoor terrace at the entrance, monochromatic bookshelves line the lobby hallway, and the elevators have such a unique design on them. It's also steps away from The Bean and Millenium Park!

We stayed two nights at Arlo - Chicago. We arrived very early (7 am) and the woman at the front desk, Eva was incredibly helpful. She was able to get us in to a room right away ($75 fee), provided recommendations for local restaurants and gave us complimentary water bottles. The room was small, but modern, clean and comfy beds. My only complaint is the window faced another building, so room was dark with no view. Location was great, right next to Millennium Park and near restaurants, coffee and Stans Donuts. Would absolutely stay again.

I went away for a solo vacation and this hotel did not disappoint! This is perfect for those who are not driving and plan to walk or use public transportation. I took the train from the airport and it stopped about a block away from the hotel. The train is about a 30 minute ride and $3.00 as compared for a $30 Uber! My room was super clean. Like seriously, the smell of cleanliness hit me as soon as I walked in. The room was so cute! The bathroom really stands out. I opted for a room with a view. Not sure if the price difference was worth the view because all I really saw was an alley, but I was fine with my choice. Pros: It is located on Michigan Avenue, so that's a plus if you are in a touristy mood. The Bean is right up and across the street, a very quick walk. There are a ton of restaurants and shops (including a popular pizza place and Stan's donuts) down the street. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I arrived early on my first day and they were able to accommodate me with an early check in. They also allowed me to check out later. This, of course, depends on how busy they are. Cons: The area is constantly loud. You will hear the train and sirens all night. The walls are also thin. So please keep this in mind if this could potentially bother you. Overall this is the cutest, boutique hotel! The lobby and elevator are so artsy. I would definitely stay here again!

Awesome hotel and location! Stayed here for 4 nights and would come again. Was in town for a convention at the Hyatt Regency and I was able to save money by staying here and walking 10 mins. Location is great. Theres literally a Nandos and the Nutella cafe across the street. MP is a nice walk down as well. Room was clean and modern. I had to work during each day and liked the built in desk below the TV for me to work + reliable wifi. Also quiet, I didnt hear the rooms next door. Really liked they had a steamer instead of an iron for my clothes and the lighted mirror for me to do my makeup. Lights also automatically turned off. I came off a super early flight from LA and they kindly let me checkin a couple hours early. Staff was friendly! They have a bar/restaurant downstairs that I didnt eat at but menu looked good. Would stay here again. Especially if youre going to a convention at Hyatt.

My sister and I stayed on this location for a day in Chicago and it was absolutely in the best location for any tourist that like us want to walk everywhere. Facilities were very well. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it was full when we went down.

We had a wonderful experience! Upon entering the hotel it was notably clean and beautifully decorated. Fast check in with a very kind front desk attendant. They placed us on the top floor and our room was very aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was truly kind and wonderful to work with. We enjoyed using the fitness center that was always very clean and sanitary. Also, the hotel is locating in the perfect spot! We were in the middle of everything and we were so close to the millennium bus station. Our first night we did have an incident with some very noisy neighbors having a party at 1am. We called the front desk and they had someone come up and confront the room and ask them to quiet down. Although the neighbors continued to be loud we appreciated that the hotel staff came quickly to try and ask them to be courteous. Overall we had an incredible experience and we look forward to staying here again in the future.

Nice hotel and great salmon roll! Impossible burger is pretty good too. I stayed here for my birthday and have been back since.

Very friendly and clean rooms. Street parking and garage parking very close if needed. Is located by a train line but I promise you can't even tell. I definitely recommend and will stay here again!

When I first arrived they said a room may not be ready yet at 430pm. after check in? But they quickly told me a room was ready after she checked with the manager. So there are a few things I wish were better. There is no parking. The parking is a public lot a block away. I wanted on site parking but did not check that before booking. there is a $20 urban fee. and I'm not sure what that's for? I was given complimentary drink vouchers to use for the bar downstairs. The food from room service was amazing. About Last Knife. delicious beef sliders and sweet potato fries. Highly recommend! My room was amazingly clean and bed was nice and comfy. The noise can be bothersome of outside downtown Chicago. Your room is quite loud if your ok with that. I personally like a bit quieter of a hotel overall. The staff was very nice and helpful with everything. I loved the walking distance of everything on Michigan Ave. I would say its a great little boutique hotel.

Hotel Julian exceeded my expectations. It was recommended through AAA Travel. Booking online was easy. The hotel is located in a great location. Walking distance to a lot of downtown Chicago's must see attractions The staff at check in was super nice. Check in took less than 5 minutes and that with them upgrading my room because they saw it was my birthday. The overall aesthetic of the hotel and too was hip and trendy. The fitness center is adequate for all fitness levels. The only thing I would recommend if to have more microwaves on site. There was only one microwave on the 5th floor for guests. When I go to Chicago again I plan to stay at Hotel Julian!

Three night stay & the room was clean, comfy, & smartly designed. The smell of the lobby is amazing...so great the I had to purchase the signature room spray as a souvenir.

I stayed here for two nights while visiting Chicago. I love the hotel because of the location of several bars and restaurants and the proximity to public transportation. Also, the hotel Cleanest was immaculate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Windy City.

Very comfortable and nicely appointed rooms. We met our family and all stayed here for a wedding. Great location and good restaurant in the lobby. Although we only ate breakfast at the hotel each day. I also enjoyed the espresso maker in every room and the mini fridge too.

Recently stayed at the Hotel Julian for a single night, just to enjoy the Christmas sites in downtown Chicago. We were just extremely happy with the choice of hotel. The hotel decor reminds me of the west elm catalog. The bed was extremely firm and comfortable, there was a wonderful little person couch under the window that has a nice view of Illenium park, and it has a nice little corner table. Every single outlet in the room has two USB cords. The bedframe has the dresser drawers underneath them. The room also comes with a Keurig coffee machine. The bathroom showerhead has a full on blast which is wonderful. Love the security in this building if you arrive back at your hotel after hours, you have to use your room, key card to open the doors to allow you access to the lobby. Also, you can only ride the elevator to your floor because you have to scan your key card to activate the elevator to push your floor button. Did not take a vantage of the hotel restaurant to sample the food, but did stay at the bar. Drinks reasonably priced very well poured by the bartender.

Yes this is a very nice cozy hotel in the Chicago area. Highly recommend it. Close to great restaurants and has one in the lobby area as well. And diagonal to millennial park. It is hard to get a cab right in front as it's one of the busiest streets but you can go around the corner and easily get one

I stayed there for a week and it was great, if it's your first time visiting, this is the best option. You can walk everywhere, the restaurant is DELICIOUS, you have to try the buffalo sandwich with a mimosa. Everyone is very friendly at the front desk.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THEFT BY HOTEL STAFF. They stole $250+ worth of clothing from room and have lied/avoided around any action. My partner and I stayed here for ~5 nights in early July 2022. We took the clear large plastic bag from the room's closet and stored our dirty laundry in it-- this included 250-300 USD worth of clothing. On the second to last day of our stay, the bag was missing when we returned to our room. We searched everywhere and couldn't find it. We called the front desk -- no answer. We went downstairs to tell them and they assured us they'd have the house keeper search the trash for it by the evening. We went out to get dinner, and called 30 minutes after they said we would hear from them (note: no ownership of issue in calling us with updates) and they had no updates. They did, however, confirm that the bag we used was for laundry purposes. The next morning, the last day of our stay, we saw the house keeper in the hall. She said she was the one working the day prior, but had not been contacted by anyone to search for our missing items. We went to the front desk immediately: there was no record on our account of the issue the day prior. The new front desk person helped us by asking folks to check-- again nothing could be found. Not in the laundry room(s) or the garbage. We then met with their Manager of House Keeping who had us fill out a formal insurance claim through the hotel's insurance for the items. We have the scanned copy of our paperwork. We were assured we would hear within 1-2 weeks from the insurance company. We've heard nothing. We were refused the insurance company's contact information at the time of paper work submission. I called today to follow up, again, on their loss of the items. The front desk staff shared there was no record of any of this on our account. I was put on hold to be transferred. Someone picked up 10 minutes later and they were just a different front desk attendant who hadn't been made aware of the issue. At not one moment did the staff apologize for their loss of our items. They did not provide any financial reimbursement and did not acknowledge it happened. Do not stay here. Avoid it at ALL costs, unless you want items stolen and 0 assistance in getting them returned of reimbursed. The room was nice, though it did have the "sheets do not stay on" issue others mentioned. Definitely not sanitary.

The walls are extremely thin. You can hear everything in the hallway and everything in the room next to you. Other than that, the hotel is adequate. Staff were friendly, room was clean enough, lights worked, gym was well equipped. I would not stay here again - there are a variety of hotels in the area that are similarly priced. Overhearing all hallway and neighboring room activities is miserable.

This is the perfect hotel to stay at in Chicago! The staff was friendly and allowed early check in. It is affordable for the location. Millennium park, restaurants, and river walk are just steps away. Rooms were clean and up to date. Staff offered to hold luggage until end of the day.

Such a cute little hotel right next to cloud gate. I'm always looking for a hotel that has good amenities like a gym. I like to work out and stay activity on vacation so i can eat more lol. Staff was friendly and the area felt very safe. Walking distance to cloud gate but a little far from where all the restaurants are. Very close to a 7-11 and CVS for all your needs! hotel itself was really clean and overall good experience. Would recommend this place for first timers visiting Chicago !

The staff here is the best. Big shout out to Leah who upgraded us to a gorgeous city view room after finding out it was my birthday.

I found this place on the Hotel Tonight app and booked it about a day and a half before I arrived. The location is amazing! It's caddy corner from Millenium Park and walking distance to theaters and shops and lots of dining locations. The service was fantastic, warm and friendly. The decor, cool and classy with a modern edge. The rooms are small but well-appointed with an awesome clothes steamer, motion activated lighting, touch key cards, nespresso machines and refrigerators in each room and a 50 inch tv for entertainment. The showers are HUGE! The bathroom lighting was perfection and the spa products smelled delicious! The gym with Peleton bike and other equipment was needed to keep all the calories I was taking in, at bay. The restaurant was also good and I ended up there two mornings and one evening. I'd happily stay there again.

No complaints. Although I didn't get to take advantage of any of the amenities at the hotel, we had an amazing stay! The receptionist was extremely helpful. I believe her name was Sydney or Cindy. I booked a standard king , decided to upgrade to the vista view. Well worth it !!! Great location: easy access to many stores and also the Millennium Park.

This hotel has the absolute worst customer service ever. My flight was canceled into Chicago. I was-willing to offer proof and documentation. The hotel would not accept it. Would not cancel reservation because of their policy. The front deist staff was tolerable at best. Do not stay here. It is not worth the bad attitude and smug righteous behavior.

Strange that one of the best 12-hour deep sleep sessions of my life started with some major concerns. My room faced the side of another building and sounded like an echo chamber during the day. Every small sound in Millennium Park sounded like it was amplified x5. Surprisingly, things quieted down in the park at night and I slept (maybe better than I ever have). The view was extremely disappointing, but the room was clean and comfy. My initial draw to book at Hotel Julian was the historic building -- I think it is complemented nicely with modern decor. Noise concerns aside, I'd definitely stay again.

Poor guest services. Front desk staff were extremely rude. They ran out of water bottles, don't have valet parking, wouldn't give complete information about parking around the area. They told me there is a parking garage near to them but failed to inform that they are daily and not hourly. I had to take my car out and pay $30 again to park!!! room/bathroom was not properly clean. I called dining at 9:50 but they refused to take my order even though I was told kitchen closes at 10 and I could order any time before. I won't stay here again for poor customer services!!!

Stayed here for one week to attend a wedding and do some sightseeing. TL;DR - Would only recommend this place if you only care about location. We did not experience the good service that the other reviews were raving about. +1 star for location, +1 star for water/luggage hold service. First, the good: -The location was extremely convenient. Right across the street from Millennium Park and walking distance from most things in the downtown area. It was easy to catch the bus/train to take us wherever we needed to go. -Free water bottles on request -Luggage hold service was great and the guy working was friendly and efficient -The male front desk worker was very helpful the few times that we saw him. I wish we got his name because the front desk ladies we interacted with were quite the opposite! Now onto things that could be improved: -There was a half-eaten salad in our mini fridge left by a previous patron. The fridge has a glass front door so it was clearly visible without opening the fridge itself. If housekeeping missed this, what else was missed during cleaning? When we informed the front desk, all that was said was oops, please throw it away. -We were informed that our room would be cleaned every 3rd day. That's fine, but our room was cleaned two days in a row and on the second cleaning day, a bag of pastries we had purchased was thrown away! The bag was on top of the fridge, not near the garbage, so no idea why it was tossed. No explanation or compensation offered by the front desk. The lady passed the blame, bluntly saying she wasn't housekeeping and doesn't know anything about the situation. Again, not even a 'sorry' or anything! -Bed sheets kept coming off the bed so we were sleeping directly on the bare mattress (ew!). Mind you, we weren't moving around a lot, it's just that the flat sheets were barely big enough to cover the mattress so any slight movement would pull it up. -Not once during our stay did the front desk answer the phone. Morning, afternoon, night, the phone just kept ringing, or someone picked up only to hang up immediately. So any time we needed something, we'd have to physically go downstairs. -Ladies at the front desk were rude and made it feel like we were inconveniencing them by asking questions. -Only 1 small elevator for all the guests so it can take a while to catch one that's not full. The hotel can't change this, but something to keep in mind, especially if you're going during peak times.

I think I'm going to do my review in a pros and cons style since I'm only doing a 3-star review. That way I can highlight both without one outweighing the other. Pros: - Right on the Magnificant Mile! Literally feet from everything, including Millenium Park and the red line (and right across the street from the Nutella Cafe) - The customer service was great for us. I was worried about the reviews, but we had a pleasant check-in and check-out. - Free water. You normally don't get anything free in a downtown Chicago hotel, so this is good! - Comfortable bed. I slept pretty well! - Affordable. We paid $80 on Travelzoo for a Friday night (in November) - Nespresso machines in the room. Cons: - The bathrooms have a sliding barn door, which means no privacy! I mean there is limited privacy, but I wouldn't suggest sharing a room here with someone you weren't already cozy with (I went with my spouse). - Tiny rooms. This is expected, being a downtown hotel. - Awful views. Well, at least our room (wish I would have remembered the #). Our view was of an alley and construction but could see some of the taller buildings.

Hotel Julian We visited this hotel over the extended Thanksgiving weekend. Visiting Chicago frequently, I've stayed in my share of nice hotels. My mom had recommended this hotel due to its boutique atmosphere, and stellar location. You are steps away from Millennium Park, amazing restaurants, and Miracle Mile shopping. Our room didn't have a view, but that was fine with me. It was extremely clean, offered comfortable bedding with extra touches that made it special. The motion sensor lights that light up when your feet are placed on the ground ( a convenience I never knew I always wanted) to the roomy bathroom with a walk-in shower, to the complimentary robes and water at check-in, to the Nespresso coffee machine and mini-fridge to store our drinks, to the Peloton bike and well-equipped gym with free weights to boot. It all was perfect. The updated décor and upscale atmosphere was a treat to behold. The service was fabulous at check-in - the gentleman checking us and the bellman in the lobby were all very polite, friendly and helpful. It was a memorable holiday weekend that will go down in the books - thank you to the staff for making it the perfect weekend. Bottom-line - Check out Hotel Julian for your next stay in Chicago and you will not leave disappointed. I can't wait to come back!

horrible horrible horrible customer service. the manager is inexperienced and rude. i do not recommend this place at all, spend your money at a better hotel.

First night here, check in was very slow process even at 11pm. Only one person working the front with 7-8 people already waiting to check in. As well as people waiting to get scan cards fixed for the elevator. After check in we came to our room which is suppose to be an elite king room... I don't feel there's much elite to it. The bathroom was beautiful and well designed. Needs some attention but overall pretty good. There was only 4 hangers to hang out clothing on for an entire weekend. (Dresses, dress shirts) no drawers, no space to put suitcases so your not tripping on them. Stains on the carpet and then here's the icing on the cake (I always and I mean always check beds) and I think you know why. But huge stains looks like they should be in a motel 8. Pics to show... for a 1000 bucks for a weekend we could of gotten something in the woods for a week. But we wanted luxury not homeless mattresses. The noise from other doors closing is scary in the middle of the night. Not thrilled for the price.

The hotel staff seemed nice and I enjoyed the location convenience. While getting ready to leave we noticed stains on the duvet through the cover. There were many of them and it worries me to think that they have not been cleaned between guests. We found this on our last night and are extremely disappointed that even after house cleaning had been to our room during that stay that it had not been changed.

Great hotel in a perfect location for exploring the city! The staff was polite, the room was clean and the bed was comfy - I'm not sure what more is needed in a hotel room. I didn't eat in the restaurant, yet did have a glass of wine there one night with a friend. Decent service and delicious wine. Stayed here in September 2019 for a weekend.

We paid for a deluxe room with a king size bed here. When we checked in and got to the room, there was not a king size bed in the room (it was either a large full size bed or small queen). I'm 5 foot 5 inches and when laying across the bed, my shins to my feet hang over the side of the bed. This wouldn't happen on an actual king size bed, which is 76 inches wide. The staff at the front desk insisted it was a king size bed, and that it "just looks smaller than usual." I would not recommend staying here. Go to the Chicago Athletic Association, The Hoxton, The Ace, just anywhere else. I spoke with a manager in the morning and he insisted that the beds were "European king size beds". This bed was slightly smaller than an American queen sized bed. Using European sized beds while not advertising them on your website as such is a hustle. This hotel is in the US and nowhere on their website mentions that the beds are not standard American size beds. He said, "Even if it doesn't say it's a European size king bed, it's still a king bed." What a racket. Oh, on top of that, they also charge what they call an "Urban Tax" ($16) per day with your stay, but what it really is is a resort fee for amenities like the water bottles they give you, Nespresso caps, robes in the room that you can use, and a copy of the Wall Street Journal. Can you legally call something a tax on an invoice that isn't actually a tax?

We got a room less than 24 hours before arriving...and paid a dime. So thank you Hotel Julian! I love you for that! Great location. Easy walk to all the main touristy stuff. If youre driving in you can park at the large garage on the north side of the park and its half what you'd pay for a garage spot in any hotel. The staff was great, and they had lots of umbrellas to share! But they took our room number which means be careful not to leave the umbrella underneath a chair somewhere else in the city or you'll get charged. It took us some time to figure out the espresso machine in the room. We're old now I guess. I'd generally prefer regular coffee but Im not picky. We didnt get to stop in the restaurant bc it closes early. Oh well.

Amazing clean place to stay worth every penny will always pick this place to stay when I'm in Chicago

Upon check-in, we were not notified that housekeeping comes every 3rd day, thus we could only request fresh towels and to place the dirty towels outside, minor irritation.... The ALK restaurant was great, friendly staff along with a great menu, Donnell was so hospitable...The bar was friendly as well and accommodating. The bar closes at 11 PM, but we showed up after 11 PM and Tim the bartender told us that a night cap would be fine to take to our room.

This hotel is lovely. Elegant, quaint, great location. Sadly, I left a beautiful sweater and slacks in one of their gorgeous under the bed drawers. I contacted them the day after and was told they would check with their cleaning staff and return my call. No call. Disappointing. I returned to the hotel yesterday - 3 weeks later - to spend the night. I thought with COVID19, things get chaotic, I'll be patient. I asked a hotel receptionist - she said she'd return my call after checking with the cleaning crew - didn't happen. Returned again to staff inquiring about my items. People leave things in hotel rooms all the time. This shouldn't be a unique inquiry. The cleaning staff supervisor allowed me to search through a box of dirty, old materials. No items of mine found. I asked the hotel staff how this was going to be rectified? No answer to my email except an earlier email apologizing this "inconvenience." Very, very frustrating. The staff clearly stole the items - while managing to leave the crappy materials behind. Perhaps "it is what it is" - staff steals items left behind - perhaps this is a common occurrence. But, I live 24 minutes from the hotel, called the very next day - and no resolution to this matter. So ... too bad - great hotel - but, they DO have a Lost and Found - my beautiful sweater and lovely slacks were not there - where did it go? Stolen. I think they think that because so many people who stay there do not live 24 minutes away, so they won't return to retrieve left items - it's a safe bet to just steal a guest's left behind clothing. Even the sweet cleaning worker couldn't refute my argument. So, sadly, never again. It's super disturbing.

The price was way too high for what we had. I tried to check in early or do luggage hold. I know that early check in is only if it's available, but the manner we were treated with was not cool. She kept telling us that our room wasn't guaranteed, that we might not have the room type we booked and tried to make us accept another room. Told me that she would call me as soon as our room was available. She didn't. And when explaining this to the woman working the desk (at 8 pm after walking around the city waiting for a call) she was also short and unapologetic. She gave us 1 drink coupon for the bar when we had 2 adults standing there. What are they expecting us to do, share the one drink?? The room was nice and the beds were clean and comfortable. However the cleaning chemicals they use was so horribly strong we all had bad headaches within 20 min. I'm asthmatic and have been struggling with trying to breathe. Bathroom was nice and very clean. The nightstand was covered in long hairs and dust that I swiped a finger through. Super disappointed with the hotel over all, and the lack of apology is ridiculous. Convenient location but there are other spots to put our visiting family in.

Pros: the location is pretty much unbeatable. You're steps away from the bean, walking distance to the river walk, a short bus ride to the miracle mile, about 19 minutes away from navy pier and Willis tower. The lobby is beautiful and well designed, the restaurant, about last knife is very good too, great drinks. The bathroom in my room was nice, and I enjoyed their selection of toiletries. Great shower pressure Cons- the carpet in my room 1207 was stained the bed is supposed to have an automatic light sensor that lights up when you walk around, it didn't The room service is a bit unpredictable since the restaurant is pulling double duty for non hotel and hotel patrons, but one night I had to wait an hour for drinks, and another tribe they were just randomly closed, and another time no OJ... at 10am. You need to be super specific, book directly, I booked through hopper which was a mistake Ask for a room w a city view bc there are several rooms that just face a dark alleyway, makes the room super depressing, and one tiny window makes it feel like prison. Lastly the walls are so thin I heard everything in the hall and rooms next to me. Ultimately I would consider booking again if I could guarantee a room w a city view and no gross carpet stains. Also I thought I booked an accessible room w 2 queen beds, they were definitely not queen beds, they were full. Also they charge a city fee so don't be shocked by that. This is a good hotel if you're going to be out enjoying the city hard and just need a place to sleep it off...

If a bottle of vodka and full glass of bourbon, along with flying shards of glass land in your laps destroying your clothing, do not expect to be handed any more than a paper napkin to be handed to you or for any member of management to take the time to contact you to apologize. It is a very convenient location. After the sleepless night of car horns and sirens you can trot down the street to Macy's to replace your liquor soaked clothing and be grateful to go home. 2 stars only because the women at the front desk are amazing. They really deserve better employers.
