Arnanes Country Hotel

Have travelled the world but this place is truly special. Vasillis took great care of us all evening until the Northern Lights appeared. What an incredible experience. Great hospitality. Clean, comfortable and warm.

Perfect location just outside Hofn. Very nice guesthouses with shared bathrooms. We stayed only for one night but we couldn't have asked for anything better. In line with prices in and around Hofn.

We arrived very late at the hotel (literally just on 9pm) and the bar/restaraunt were just being shut up for the night. |It was well decorated and tidy. We were given lodge 5 which was the closest one to the building. It was a lovely room. The beds were a little soft for my liking, but this is a preference and you can't please everyone. Speaking to the owner in the morning, my partner was given a useful shortcut for the drive to Myvatn, cutting 40 mins from the trip and sending us over the mountains with the beautiful scenery which comes with that. |The continental breakfast was well stocked. It was a nice stop on the tour.

Good clean accommodation and very friendly staff. The breakfast was good. The pets were in the middle of the room rather than by a wall because of the shape of the roof which was slightly odd, but they were still relatively comfortable

Pro: great view, friendly host, cute room, good breakfast. Con: BED BUGS 😱 (We were in room 18) I just realized that multiple groups have already reported this for room 18 just weeks and days before ours, and it’s unfortunate to see that they continue to assign guests to this room.

Arguably the best hotel for our ring route drive, very accommodating, the host Stephano (sorry if I spelt that wrong) and I had 2 great conversations about life in his country and life in mine, service was perfect and will stay again if ever back in iceland.

Excellent property, rooms, and breakfast. The location is just outside the Hofn city so you have a lot of open area around you, and decent views. We stayed in Sep 2024 and were very well taken care by the staff, including the owner himself. We had a minor issue in the room, mostly caused by myself unfortunately, and the staff was very supportive and the girl at the reception did everything to make us comfortable while things were fixed. The owner himself drove back to the property late in the evening, leaving an event to solve the issue. It was so nice of him. In the morning saw same helpful attitude with the staff in the kitchen where they did everything to ensure we had all the allergen information by getting the food packaging from the kitchen to help us decide what to eat. Highly recommended!

The owner is rude and unpleasant. Part of our group had to look for another hotel at the last minute after closings a number of rooms because of bed bugs. I really hope our room didn't have any, and instead of trying to help us find a solution, she just scolded us when we arrived. I was really upset when we discovered within the group that the key to the room actually opens all the other rooms, a terrible security problem. My room was not clean: the toilet was dirty, there was a lot of dust under the bed, the floor was full of dirt, and there were hairs on the pillow and the blanket. The room is not soundproof and you can hear everything that happens in the room next door. The breakfast was ok, but the coffee was tasteless and the service was unpleasant. THIS IS NOT A THREE STARS HOTEL IT IS A JOKE IT IS A CHEAP HOSTEL WITH POOR MAINTENANCE AND AN AWFUL SERVICE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
