The rooms are furnished in typical Greek style. The rooms are equipped with new towels every day. As our room was not directly at the reception, we hardly noticed any of the parties at night. It would have been better if the staff had given notice or hung something out so that the hotel guests would know. When we had dinner while there was a party, it was always very amusing and nice to watch. The staff is very polite, courteous and friendly. For breakfast there is a small buffet and fruit and meat platters are served extra. The food was delicious and also typical Greek cuisine. Next to them were geese, which, if you asked nicely, you could put the food bucket. The cats that the staff took care of were our personal highlight. Everything is lovingly cared for and designed. This place has a special charm. We would come back every time!

We have stayed here for 4 nights stay. We recommend you not to book here.||Firstly we couldn’t sleep well because they had parties/ events for 2 nights in row with very loud music until 4am, even though the hours of silence in Greece are from 22:00 to 7:30. We have measured the noice inside the room at 4pm, it was over 60 dB. We booked here to take a rest but then we couldn’t even sleep!!!||Secondly there is no wifi in the room. They said there is only wifi in public areas, but the wifi in the area next to the pool barely works. The only area where the wifi works is the restaurant. ||Thirdly the bathroom and room floor are dirty. There are no slippers, so that we have to keep wearing shoes all the time inside to room. ||Lastly we booked the taxi from the hotel at 4am to the airport. The reception person said that she would arrange it for us. Then we have waited for 20m but the taxi didn’t come. We tried to call the emergency number of the hotel but no one answered. What a service here!

a gorgeous, very quiet place to stay on october, we stopped for 7 nights and the weather was perfect, the food was amazing and the staff were lovely, would recommend maybe hiring a car, as the bus only comes by 3 times a day and once on a sunday if you wanted to go into town for a full day, but there are taxi services that take you into town and they only take 15/20 minutes to get there. Close by to the beach too, which was lovely!

About our holiday story: we have booked a hotel in January 2024 for 4 of us in the family (including a 70 years old elderly lady) and 3 days before our departure we got an email our booking is cancelled. The agent rushed us to accept 2 separated hotels, one of them was this hotel, better than nothing, we agreed, due we checked the reviews and the hotel star rating. Outside the environment is beautiful, colorful, picturesque but inside the rooms especially the cheaper ones is a nightmare - uncomfortable - dark - dirty - neglected accommodation. I understand there is difference between rooms price and size wise but cleaning and maintaining a room should be only physical work. I would say, this place should be more famous - popular as a turist attraction /experience, wedding - cooking venue or museum then a 4*hotel. Who is looking for a Traditional Greek Village style holiday, this place is perfect with the most expensive room but if someone is after a comfortable - modern - 21st century holiday avoid this place. Sorry about it.....

The village is small and quaint. There's really nothing to do besides daytrios out of town, lounging by the pool, or staying in your room (in the AC). We expected to do lots of day trips but then had a change of plans, so we were at Arolithos for 6 days.||The pool is great - but it was almost always full of kids. So, it wasn't particularly relaxing or pleasant for other people (not the hotel's fault of course).||The room was drab and rather depressing. The mattress was literally the worst I've ever slept on. You could feel the springs just running your hand over the top of the mattress, so every turn was an unpleasant tweak as some part of your body takes across a metal spring. Miserable. I literally took pain pills in the middle of the night so I would be able to sleep to a reasonable hour of the morning. If not, the pain from the bed work me up before 6 am. I mentioned the horrible mattress when checking out, and the young lady kind of shrugged and said she would tell the manager. I hope she did because it is unreasonable to pay to sleep on mattresses that bad. ||On Friday and Saturday nights, there were weddings with super loud music until at least 4 am. If you are a light sleeper, give it up.||The food at the tavern was excellent. The highlight of our stay was the restaurant staff. So kind and attentive.

Located outside the Cretan town of Heraklion, Hotel Arolithos offers charm and sweeping views over the countryside and the town. Dating only from the 1980s, this purposely built village is the vision of a single man to build something in the style of Crete’s traditional villages. His family has kept his vision alive and welcomes guests for a delightful stay.|:x:|Our room, Number 8, was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. We could look out onto the village from the small terrace, which had a table and two chairs. The bathroom is small; the hot water took a bit of time to reach the faucet but when it did, it was HOT! One inconvenient drawback: WiFi was not available in the room. It is accessible from other areas of the hotel, though. This fact is stated on the website, however.|:x:|Breakfast, included in the room rate, is plentiful and filling. Christina, the lovely manager/waitress at the hotel’s tavern, is friendly and outgoing. Each morning we looked forward to seeing and chatting with her. |:x:|I recommend a stay at Hotel Arolithos.

Seriously?? Do people still think that having birds in cages is cool and ok?? This poor bird looks misserable and was being disturbed and literally bullied the entire night by people and specially mean kids shacking the cage and clapping on the mesh. The bird was trying to defend itself and looked so stressed that we had to step in and tell them to go away. Imagine this happening everyday. There is more birds in cages at reception. Do you really think is fine to confine this animals which nature is flying free (and have already being taken away from their own natural environment) to this tiny cages for your own entertainment?? Small minds and selfishness in my opinion. At least!! build them something bigger where they can have more space. Not even talking about our stay at the hotel as that wasn't any better but it's secondary at this point as at least we have our freedom to get out of there....very sad

WARNING!! THIS PLACE IS NOTHING BUT A EVENT PLACE!! DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE SEEKING FOR PEACE AND RESTING! We booked a night based on the previous reviews thinking we were gonna have the rest we needed and the dream place transformed into a nightmare! Very fortunate couple who came here to have a great time with probably over 100 of their friends and family, the rest and peaceful place that we read about turned into a wedding party with LOUD music until 6 in the morning preventing us from sleeping the entire night!! When we went to check out in the morning at the reception, we figured out that we weren’t the only one who were unhappy. Indeed other customers were staying there for 3 days already and they experienced similar thing every night ! And additionally, they keep a beautiful bird in captivity in a tiny cage just to entertain they customers which probably most of them scare the bird by flapping and shaking the cage as we witnessed that night eating at the restaurant.. very sad to see that still nowadays humans still think it’s normal to keep animal in cage.. hope this will change and people get more conscious about it.
