Fun place, the location was great, about a 5 minute walk to all the action, the views were great too and the upstairs patio made for a stunning sunset, the employees were super friendly and helpful and we had a great time!
However it wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies.
We had the room with the jetted tub, which might look cool on social media but wasn’t at all practical in real life. The tub was rather small with lukewarm water that had been recirculating there for who knows how long, definitely before we got there as there were floaties in it. The room smelled like a swimming pool to where you weren’t sure if your morning headache was from the drinking the night before or from the chlorine and humidity that you slept in. There was a dehumidifier, but the tank seemed to get full frequently enough to where we had to empty it out ourselves 2 of the 3 nights we were there.
The plumbing was another issue. There was no water pressure, for some reason the shower head was barely attached to the wall and pointed at your knees when it could have easily been hung high enough to use as a normal shower and the drain had a secondary drain opening outside of the shower pan so the water would spill out into the room if there were any backups, which there were every time you showered.
The breakfast is another idea that I didn’t think was as practical in real life as it is on paper. We don’t eat a lot of food in the mornings and would have been perfectly happy grabbing some coffee and fruit on our way out, but it seemed like an all or nothing ordeal. There was no menu for breakfast and the one time we got the meal it came with ham and cheese panini’s, croissants, half a loaf of bread, some fruit and yogurt and of course coffee. After sending the majority of this carb loaded meal back we decided to not be wasteful and just get breakfast in town the other mornings we were there.
Overall Santorini was a fun place, this hotel was surprisingly clean with a great location and staff, and likely worth the money.
