Great little hotel. Fab location near hospital - just 10 minute walk from Kings Cross and another 10 minutes to Leicester Square. Lots of coffee shops nearby. ||We were greeted by a lovely lady who explained everything and gave us keys. It’s more of a b&b rather than a hotel. A great one at that. ||We had a room with 2 double beds which was great value. Breakfast was good - lots of choice. Pastries were lovely. Also full English. All 3 ladies who worked there were very friendly and kind.||The bathroom was small but functional. Slight drainy smell but I think that’s a lot of hotels in London. ||Beds comfortable with crisp clean sheets.||Will definitely return!

I'm staying in a single room for one night. The rooms are quite small, but clean and comfortable, and the size is not a problem for a single night of solo travel. The bathroom is clean and brightly lit for getting ready, with a large mirror that doesn't fog up too quickly while showering. There are plenty of plug sockets and a number of amenities including a hairdryer, two fans, and tea and coffee-making facilities. The bed, while small, feels comfortable with good quality pillows. The wi-fi connection is strong, and the hotel is situated in a good central location (although the nearest underground station is currently closed, which is not the hotel's fault.) I found the cost of the breakfast too expensive for my budget, though there is both a cooked and continental option. Luckily, there is a Waterstones with a cafe directly opposite the hotel, and other food and drink options nearby. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the hotel has a secure entrance. The only issue is that the TV remote doesn't work in my room, but I had no use for the TV so this was fine. There is almost no noise disruption from outside or from the other rooms. I'd recommend this as a low-cost but comfortable stay for a solo traveller.

Stayed here with my son for a midweek mini break. The location and price were ideal for what we needed. The twin room was small but really well appointed and set up to be extremely usable. The bathroom and bedroom both had good storage spaces to hang and place items, and we weren't tripping over our stuff at all despite it being small. The beds were very comfy, if a little short - I'm only 5'6 and my feet reached the very end to slightly overhang when I was lying down, so definitely not for anyone tall. I worried the road noise would keep us awake but it was totally fine with the inner and outer windows both closed. The ceiling fan kept us perfectly cool all night and I think the white noise of the fan drowned out any very loud traffic eg sirens from nearby UCL hospital. Breakfast was INCREDIBLE with tonnes of choice including smoked salmon, cold meats, bread and pastries plus all the usual continental and cooked options. Coffee was too hot and very burnt, but that is the only thing I could fault. Reception was friendly and helpful - ignore the comment from the person who complained about this. Overall a really great stay - it's not top luxury but who can afford that in London? And, the room is small but has everything you need. We will return!

I stayed a week at this well located and well priced hotel. The hotel is close to several underground stations , buses and the Elizabeth line which connects with Heathrow. Walking distance to many sights and theatres. My solo room (Room 3) was tiny , but had everything I needed , including a coffee maker , tv and excellent WIFI. Bathroom was also tiny but had all the modern amenities, including a modern shower. I was concerned that the room would be noisy ( hotel location is in the middle of a university area,)but the room was silent . Finally the full English breakfast was excellent and the breakfast staff were very nice. I would have no hesitation to recommend the hotel.

Poor customer service. I had booked a room roughly 3 weeks in advance. Unfortunately my flight to London got diverted halfway through due to a mechanical issue with the plane. We got rebooked on a flight for the next day. I sent multiple emails to the hotel notifying them of the situation and asked if we could move our booking by a day (The website suggested there was availability). I didn’t receive a response until after the original booking day was over saying that since they didn’t receive any notice, they wouldn’t refund the room. When I followed up with screenshots of the emails I had sent giving notice, they then said that it was against their policy to provide a refund. This was extremely unprofessional. I was trying to work with them to find a solution to a travel mishap that was out of my control and then was misled/lied to. There are plenty of other hotels on this street that would provide a better experience.

Room was warm, clean and tidy. Area was actually really quiet with no city, train or people noise at night. Good coffee at Dilons across the road. |Pictures are exaggerated though as single room was very, very small. Good base as somewhere to sleep and go.

Unfortunately, the experience was far below expectations and left us very disappointed. To begin with, my friend suffered a bad bug bite during the stay, which raises serious concerns about hygiene and cleanliness in the room. This is not only unpleasant but also a potential health risk. In addition, the tea and coffee tray was dusty and clearly had not been cleaned properly prior to our arrival. This lack of attention to basic cleanliness standards is unacceptable. The room itself was extremely warm and uncomfortable. Although there was a small fan and a ceiling fan, both were very slow and ineffective. It was difficult to rest or sleep in such conditions.

Stayed in a cosy single room with ensuite. It was very comfortable, with tea/coffee/hot chocolate making facilities and complimentary biscuits and packet of crisps, which was much appreciated! Bear in mind that there are three floors without an elevator, so if you have trouble with stairs then make sure to ask for the lower floor bedrooms. |The cleaning staff were super friendly, as were the reception staff. It is a beautiful old building that was traditionally decorated. The location was great - only a 10 minute walk to Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street. Would highly recommend staying!

Yelp
I was really disappointed with this place. Good things - The staff were very nice. I did like the double key entry, but it's with old school keys instead of cards. The location was perfect! Not great things- the room is literally at angle and I already had a little touch of vertigo when I got off the plane. That didn't help and out of three nights, I was only able to sleep maybe 11 hours total. Beds are not comfy, no AC, and no lift. The pictures on the website looked nothing like our room...I did my research and felt incredibly mislead. There is nobody on the property working after 10:30pm. It was fine for us, but what happens if something goes wrong? You get what you pay for. If you're traveling alone and need a night to crash- this would probably be the most cost effective. If you're wanting to enjoy the experience, find a better place.

Yelp
The Arosfa Hotel is a cute Bed and Breakfast style hotel that is housed inside an old row house located near the British Museum and a local college. The rooms are decent albeit on the smaller size, but that is to be expected. We honestly didn't spend too much time in the room as we were out exploring most days. Sadly the room was a little on the dirty/dusty side. The cabinet shelves had dust on the which I didn't discover until after I put shirts on them. Also the bathroom vent barely worked and was filled with debris and dust (hence why it didn't work). The bathroom also constantly had a funky mildewy smell to it. We ended up keeping the room's window open the entire time we were there to help cool the room (No A/C only a fan - which we knew about) and to help with the bathroom humidity and smell. The place had a few things to help modernize (like the bathroom) but the sleeping room was a bit run down with cracking and dinged up walls and big cracks in the ceiling. The only saving grace for the hotel was the amazing breakfast that was included in the price we paid. We were able to get a full English breakfast and items from the continental spread each morning. The ladies working were very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
I stayed at the Arosfa Hotel for a few nights with two other friends during the Fall. We had a very nice experience. It was an excellent value for the low price we paid per night! I would definitely return to stay here. Favorite things about Arosfa: -The location is very safe and convenient. It is within walking distance of a great deal of London's sights, shops and restaurants. It is also close to more than one tube stops. -The owners are extremely friendly and down to earth. They were happy to help us map out our routes for all of our excursions. -The rooms and hotel are extremely clean! -Daily free breakfast! Every morning, they served us an English Breakfast plate with a latte- absolutely delicious! -The hotel is beautifully decorated. Returning to the Arosfa every night added authenticity to our trip. It didn't have a touristy feel about it whatsoever. Things to be aware of: -The rooms, bathrooms and beds are definitely small. It did not affect our trip whatsoever, but this would not be a good place for someone who needs a lot of space. -There is no air conditioning in the room, only a fan and a window. Again, this did not bother us in October, but I could see how it would be an inconvenience during the warmer months. -There are no elevators, only stairs to get to the rooms.

Yelp
If you're looking for a good budget hotel in a great central location, arosfa fits the bill. I was able to get a double twin room for 104 pounds per night. It's located right next to UCL - so there are lots of good options for food and local shopping. Gower St and Tottenham Road Court tube stops are nearby. Rooms are small and clean and neat. Bathrooms even smaller - the shower is the bathroom. Hot water wasn't working well, but the rooms are well stocked with a hair dryer, snacks, electric tea pot, tea/coffee, free wifi that works well and a TV with cable. There is a nice lounge with a public computer and books. Free english breakfast every morning from 7:30-9AM. Small portions, but a good start to the morning - egg, sausage, roasted half tomato, beans, and a pot of english breakfast tea. They also have cereal, pastries and juice for those looking for something less greasy. Agree with Rich - the rooms on Gower St are noisy even in the late evening. If you're jet lagged and wake up early - then you'll hear the noises of large truck barreling down the street. Staff is friendly and helpful. One even offered to loan me his umbrella for an unexpected rainy day!

Yelp
When my parents visited me in London they always stayed at Arosfa. The rooms are very, let's say, compact. In a neighbourhood like Bloomsbury where space is such a premium this is the norm, not an exception. What they don't have in space, however, the Arosfa chaps make up in friendliness, cleanliness, location, service, breakfast and some more. Oftentimes in London big hotels lack a personal touch and some smaller ones have the misfortune of a surly owner. The family that runs Arosfa are instead two of the friendliest people I've ever met. They will give you very trustworthy advice on whichever topic you may need. Arosfa has the feel of the friendly neighbourhood guest house, unsullied by commercial honogenisation. I think it's definitely worth a stay if you want to be less of a tourist and more of a Londoner, even if slightly wannabe.

Yelp
There's a row of lovely B&B hotels on Gower Street, right beside the British Museum, and this is one of them. It's central and incredibly handy for London sightseeing - Camden Market is 2 miles north, the British Museum is right there, the theatres and Covent Garden are 5 minutes down the road, and Trafalgar Square and Westminster are just a bit further but still easily walkable. The rooms are small (I've stayed here in both a double and a single) but they're en-suite and surprisingly comfortable - they've made very clever use of the limited space. Everything is spotlessly clean. Breakfast is included in the prices and is absolutely fine - there's a selection of cereal, fruit juice and continental stuff like rolls, ham, cheese and pastries AND you can choose as much or as little as you like from a full cooked breakfast. So you can fill up in the morning and not have to worry too much about where you're getting lunch. The couple who run the hotel are really pleasant - nothing was too much bother, we left our luggage there before we checked in and the booking process was easy. Single en-suite with breakfast included in the centre of London in July = £85 for a night. Doubles probably work out cheaper per person. If you're at the front of the hotel, the traffic can be noisy (especially if it's warm and you have to open the window to cool down) so take earplugs, but the rooms at the back are fine. So long as you look on London hotels as clean and comfortable places to sleep in between sightseeing and you're not looking for spacious luxury, you won't get better value for money or a better location.

Yelp
HEALTH HAZARD? Room 7 is not suitable for occupancy. I booked for seven night. Not my first stay. No problems in the past. Had to call the hotel several times at 8:30 in the morning to get someone to open the door to drop off bags. No one answered the door bell ringing multiple times. This time the room was dirty. The grout in the showers was molded over. there was make up on one of the pillow cases. Worst of all was the strong odor of cat urine coming from the wall at the end of the bed by the window. These are very, very small single rooms. I have stayed in an identical room (room 3) several times int he past without issue. This time was much different. I told the person on duty that I would pay to upgrade. She said no that they did not have all the night available and were not willing to "move me back and forth". I made it one more night before checking out at 6 pm and telling the same desk person that i was leaving due to the lack of cleanliness and overpowering cat urine or mold smell in the room. I had to pay over 300 GBP per night for a replacement room within walking distance. As I walked the to km with my bag to the new hotel, I received a credit card notification on my phone that the Arofsa hotel had processed payment for the future 5 days well in excess of another 1000 GBP. No apologies, no offer to fix the issue, no offer to reclean the room, no worries about what could be a serious mycotoxin black mold problem. i left a message at Compass Hospitality on their office/customer service line in Thailand. They ignored it. They have ignored the reviews. This hotel and management have changed. Book at your own risk. They literally do not care.

Yelp
My man and I recently stayed at the Arosfa Hotel and had a great time. Our room was on Gower St and I agree with the other reviews that the room was loud with the windows open. The windows are doubled, and once closed, the room was quiet and lovely. However, there is no air conditioning, so if the windows being closed doesn't work for the weather, it would have been very hard to sleep with the noise of cars going by. There was a ceiling fan in our room which helped keep the air moving with the windows closed. Behind the hotel is a lovely back yard and garden, so I can only assume that the rooms facing the back are significantly quieter. The only room left when we booked was a room with two twin beds, but they were kind enough to push them together and make the bed up as a double bed prior to us arriving. The room was small but was well stocked with coffee maker, hot tea, fresh fruit, flat screen TV, free wifi, and blow dryer. Each floor had its own iron and ironing board to share. Note that there is no elevator, so if that is an issue with your health, take note. The bathroom was the smallest bathroom I'd ever seen, and honestly, if you were a larger person, it would have been a real struggle to use it. But we are both slim and made it work just fine. The water pressure and temperature were more than adequate. Note, this isn't a spa bathroom, but worked just fine. Included in the insanely low price (for London) of around 110 Pounds was a full English breakfast. It was plentiful and included eggs, fruit, breads, yogurt, jam, and more. It easily held us over until a late lunch, making the cost a real deal. The staff was very kind and even let us use the computer to print a few pages. In the lobby is a TV, water, computer, and is nicely styled. This hotel was clean, decorated with basic but modern decor, and was centrally located. We didn't take the tube once! We were close enough to walk everywhere. I would absolutely stay there again on my next trip to London.

Yelp
I used to stay here all the time for the great location and friendly service, but more recently I've been staying at larger hotels, often through Priceline or Hotwire. That said, this is a great location. Rooms on Gower can be noisy. Friendly service. Rooms can be small and are older style.

Yelp
Great little hotel close to the British Museum. The Goodge St. and Russel Square metro stops are only a few blocks away, with plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had to leave for Heathrow early, before the breakfast room opened, but the owners arranged a take-away breakfast for us instead. Will definitely stay there again in the future.

Yelp
This hotel may look tasteful and nicely decorated when you enter the lobby, however! Don't be fooled! My mom and I stayed in a twin room meaning two twin beds and first of all two adults cannot fit in this room -- meaning we could barely fit our two carry on suitcases and move around at the same time. The beds though-- that's what needs to be talked about. The bed feels like a trampoline it's absolutely UN-SLEEPABLE. And this is coming from someone who camps and has stayed in several low budget hostels all over Europe. The bed was an absolute joke. It kept rolling away from the wall (Because it's on wheels) and its smaller than an American version of a twin bed. I felt like I was going to bounce off of it. And I am a normal weight 5'3 female.... Also we tried to call reception to see if anything could be done, only to find out reception closes at 10:30pm! Meaning There is absolutely no staff available to anyone after 10:30pm! What if an actual emergency happened is what I think about. What if someone got locked out? They would literally be unable to contact anyone. Anyway--not worth 150 British pounds per night (around $217/night).

Yelp
Arosfa is a small hotel next to University College London, so you're going to get some drunken fools shouting late at night as they head home. Gower Street can be a little noisy, but some rooms face a garden instead. No AC, but it's not often needed and the heat works well. There is also no elevator and the single rooms are on the top floor. It's been refurbished within the last few years: new carpet, bedding, etc. My room was en suite (private bathroom) but it is tiny. There was a flat screen tv with satellite service. I don't think I could beat the price: 60 pounds per night, including free wireless internet (worked great), or there's a computer in the lounge on the ground floor, and breakfast. Shampoo/conditioner, body wash, and hand lotion are supplied. There's a kettle with tea, coffee, and Aero hot chocolate. The location is also very good. Closest underground stations are Euston Square, Goodge Street, or Russell Square, with Tottenham Court not too much farther, and Euston Railway Station nearby. Tottenham Court Road is a few blocks away with a Marks and Spencer's (grocery store), several Boots (pharmacy/drugstore), cafes, and so on. The Petrie Museum of Egyptology is across the street as part of UCL. There is also a Waterstone's (bookstore) immediately across Gower St. A few blocks down Gower Street and a block over is the British Museum, and a bit further south and east is Oxford Street and Charing Cross Road. It's really excellently located. A taxi from the hotel to Paddington Station (where the Heathrow Express/Connect services start) will cost around 10 pounds.
