Arraial do Ribeiro Frio

This was one of our favorite restaurants in all of Madeira! Excellent service, delicious food, beautiful views from the windows, and good prices. We tried the Espetada and Picanha on the stone – it was not only delicious but also a fun experience. The passion fruit Poncha was amazing!

Amazing view glorious food the meat skewers soup garlic bread all absolutely delicious cooked over wood fire.... the meat obviously not the salad! Staff super friendly and spoke Amazing English just as well as my Portuguese is not good. Would 100 percent recommend after PR11 stunning place.

Very nice place, great service. Estepada de Altum(tuna) was a bit dry, estepada regional (beef) was very juicy and great. Chocolate cake was rich, juicy, tasty. Also we took grilled pineapple that was very, very sweet but also tasty. French fries had garlic on them- made they even better. Definitely recommend!

We tried several dishes and everything was excellent and the empty plates as we left speak for themselves. The staff were very friendly and didn’t mind at all when the children were running around the restaurant or adding logs to the fireplace. I can only recommend.

Good food and service. I stopped here on a tour. I ordered the cod fish and fries. The fries are special as they have garlic and a seasoning on them. The servers were good and made sure to check up on our group. I gave this 4 stars only because my fish and the persons beside me wasn’t hot, other than that I liked the flavour of it.

A wonderful, atmospheric place with delicious food — we really enjoyed it. After we paid the bill, we were kindly offered to try some local drinks for free, which was a very nice touch. I also want to highlight the staff: they were extremely friendly and open, with a great sense of humor. I truly felt welcome there, like I belonged.

This was the best food I had in Portugal! Espetada was juicy, also with good spices. The french fries had garlic taste which I really loved. Desserts were also delicious, altough tiramisu didn’t have that strong coffee taste. Definitely recommend this place!

The food is absolutely delicious we’ve already been here twice and we’ll definitely be back for the third time! The staff is very friendly and funny, you can joke around and feel really comfortable. Highly recommended!
