What can I say about Arribas Sintra Hotel that hasn't already been said? The views are magnificent. The beaches are accessible and beautiful. The nearby restaurants are a perfect blend of fine dining and "surf-life" laid-back atmosphere. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed on the inside. We were the lucky first-time occupants of the new 2nd floor Master Suite and it was absolutely amazing. Massive room, gorgeous views and brand new. The cafe's food and drinks were both very good. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant is worth the extra fee. The pool is HUGE and COLD. Be prepared for that. The staff were absolutely top-notch throughout. Highly recommend!

This place rocks. First off the entrance in under maintenance, so it was difficult getting in with our luggage and my 85 yr old Mom. Once inside we were greeted by the incredible staff. I believe the star was named Nuria, I included a pic. She checked us in early and allowed us to store our luggage. Then she walked us to the bar, describing all they had to offer plus a history of the hotel and pool. We had drinks and an excellent lunch of salad and pizza sitting on patio. Within a couple hours Nuria informed us our room was ready and our luggage was already in the room. The room was as perfect as the bar and restaurant. Later that evening we again went to the bar for a burger and wrap dinner. In the morning the breakfast buffet was amazing. Our stay was only one night but an exceptional night. The views from every window, patio, balcony was incredible. Every single person was caring, respectful, helpful and friendly. Especially when dealing with my mom. I highly recommend this hotel if you love the beach.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel Beachside on Praia Grande. The room was well designed and very comfortable – and the only reason I’m giving it four stars is that the air conditioner, while working, was fairly weak. The service and staff are excellent. The food in the restaurant is very good and the breakfast included in the room is also very good. It is easy to walk from this hotel to the other restaurants in the area, and the view from the room was absolutely outstanding. The pool is huge and saltwater, but it is not heated. I’m sure this is not a problem in the middle of summer, but definitely took some adjusting here in September. Altogether I recommend staying here for a great beach experience.

We had a great family reunion here. The soothing sound of the waves was so calming and the walks along the beach were fun for all of us. Veing so close to Sintra was also nice. We toured the palaces and gardens and had some great meals. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious and plentiful. I highly recommend the Arribas Sintra Hotel!

The hotel enjoys a stunning location right on the ocean shore — the views and the spacious pool are truly memorable. The room could benefit from a warmer, cosier atmosphere, but the excellent room service and decent food made the stay pleasant overall. Breakfast, however, did not quite meet expectations, and the service during breakfast felt less attentive compared with the rest of the hotel. With a few adjustments, the experience could easily become outstanding

Family having a great time at the hotel. The children love the vast pool. The location of the hotel is brilliant. Waking up in the morning overlooking the pool and the Atlantic behind is stunning, equally is watching the sunset from the balcony and/or the restaurant/bar terrace. Staff are very friendly and service is great. Food and drink in both the bar and restaurant are reasonably priced and good quality. The breakfast choice is varied - something for everyone. A real beauty is that the hotel has so few rooms. It never feels crowded, despite height of season. The hotel is exceptional value for money - found a little gem here. A 4 star hotel that deserves its stars.

We had a magical stay at Arribas even though the weather was cool and foggy. What stood out? Everything including, the warm and helpful service at check-in, our delicious late meal at the bar, the view, the pool, the beach, the well-appointed room, and the breakfast buffet. The experience was unforgettable. As Canadians travelling through Portugal, we stayed a 5 different hotels; Arribas was the best stay of our trip. Thank you to the staff for a lifetime of memories at your exceptional hotel.

We stayed at the Arribas Sintra hotel in November. A warm greeting from the staff and we were able to drop our luggage as we'd arrived early. Francesco updated us via WhatsApp when our suite was ready - our luggage had already been delivered and we had a welcome drink of port and pastel de nata. What a view 😊 our room was huge, lovely bathroom and a covered balcony to be able to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The service from the hotel staff is impeccable. Everyone speaks very good English, and were very helpful on shopping, when and where to go etc. Breakfast was very good - all self service but plenty to choose from every morning. Super Bock is served on draft. It's a remote hotel but even in the winter months there are beach bars open within 10 minutes walk if you want to stretch your legs. The only thing to be aware of is that the Atlantic Ocean is just outside - there's little tidal range and the waves are always rolling in and can be very noisy.

Yelp
This is a great hotel located on the coast. The rooms were spacious and the views are gorgeous! Every room has an ocean view. It was nice to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean in the background. There is an air conditioner in the room, but we weren't sure if it was working as it did not seem to cool in the room. Not to worry as there is a fan in the room...only we did not have the fan control. We had to request one from the front desk. Kind of strange, but no big deal. Our tv remote control would only change the channel in one direction, but again, not a deal breaker. Now for the good stuff: the pool was amazing. We were here in the month of September. The water was definitely chilly, but there were a few occasions where we had it all to ourselves as it appears to be the end of the season. You must request pool towels from the hotel desk as there are none located near the pool. They have nice bathroom and locker room facilities near the pool. The pool is open to the public for a fee as well. There is a cafe just a few steps away that you can order food at and bring to the pool as long as there are no glass items (for examples: cups). The room itself was spacious. The bathroom was modern.Wasn't fond of the toilet being right behind the door which would hit a person on the can if another person were to enter. The soap dispenser attached to the wall needs to be closer to the end you shower on (it is a long shower). We had the family suite which had two twins in the front room and one king in the other. Plenty of room for a family of four. The complimentary breakfast consisted of fruits, pastries (glazed doughnuts, breads, muffins, croissants), cereal and a few hot items like bacon, eggs, mushrooms, something that looks like mini hotdogs (not sausage), and boiled eggs. You can sit out by the water or inside, but the outside tables are usually taken as they afford beach/ocean views. Not to worry though as you can see them inside as well. If you are trying to get an UBER, forget about it! We had four people cancel on us minutes after accepting us. After speaking with the front desk, we were informed that due to the fact that this hotel is located further out from town, UBER drivers will typically accept ride requests not realizing that it is further out than originally anticipated. The solution? You have to order a taxi in advance from the front desk. If you are trying to go to Azenhas do Mar, you can also take the 441 bus but make note there are two buses that go to different places and depending during the time of year, they may only come once a an hour if that!We tried to go to Azenhas do Mar and waited well over an hour with no results. Despite the little nuisances, we still really liked this hotel. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the beach and surf views with the locals. I would definitely stay here again, but will prepare accordingly.
