Arrifana Surf Lodge

Aldo and Sarah's crew are the most warm-hearted and welcoming people! I truly enjoyed the week long surf camp at Arrifana Surf Lodge; everything was planned well, the surf instructors were professional and relaxed, yoga lessons were great, accomodation was nice and clean, and we were well fed at all times. I can definitely recommend this surf camp for everyone and I hope to come back some day!

If I could give Aldo and his team 100 stars, I would! I booked one ad-hoc surf lesson and ended up coming back every day. The instructors are amazing – super friendly on the beach and attentive & professional in the water. They’re so switched on, giving perfect cues and just the right amount of help, so you can push yourself while still feeling safe and supported. Couldn’t recommend them more!

The second time I’ve come here as a new surfer in my 40s (arrgh!) The accommodation is comfortable, the hosts and other guests friendly and kind, the food good and generous, and the surfing tuition first class. Arrifana and Amoreira beaches are stunning and even though the surf forecast was unusually poor the week I was there, there were more than enough waves to practice on. Surfing is addictive, this is the perfect place to learn, and I’ll be back.

My daughter (17) and I spent a great week in the lodge. Sarah, Aldo and their crew make you feel welcome and create an amazing environment. Surf lessons, surf spots, yoga sessions, the food, beautiful surroundings for hiking … all is perfect. We hope to come back next year!

I’ve been a week at Arrifana Surf Lodge. All in all I can highly recommend a holiday at the lodge. Sarah, Aldo and their team are doing a great job and make you feel welcome from second one. Learning to surf is done under the supervision of a team of competent surf instructors. They take enough time for everyone. One of the other big highlights was Aldo's barbecue skills. So I can only repeat myself: anyone who wants to learn to surf and wants to feel welcome right from the start should come to Arrifana Surf Lodge.

My stay at Arrifana Surf Lodge was amazing! The team creates a beautiful balance between fun, professionalism, and a warm, laid-back atmosphere. The surf coaching is excellent – super structured, with a great mix of practice, theory, and video analysis. The lodge is cozy, clean, and perfectly located. See you soon!

We booked Aldo and his team for some surf lessons (theory and in the water) for three days and had the best time. Aldo is a very passionated surf coach :) He always made sure everyone was safe in the water and has a lot of fun. He shared his knowledge in and out of the water, helping everyone to improve within only three days. We would always book him and his team again for all surf levels and can't recommend Arrifana Surf Lodge enough. Thank you for making these three days even more fun.
