Best mom and pop food shop in the Coachella Valley. During the CV-19, this is really good take-out because their whole menu is the kind of stuff you can heat up at home and makes you feel like you are a professional mexican chef.

Wow! So I got the carne asada burrito, a couple of tamales, and some chips. Holy gawd, the food was amazing! It makes your mouth water as you're eating it! The workers are Mexican ladies who love their job, so it has that home cooked feel, the way my mom cooks. Check it out, you'll love it!

We have been coming here for so many years! The chips are out of this world, the salsa is indescribably good! I literally flew in from NC and this was the first place I came to eat at. This place is a desert staple and I will keep coming as long as they keep making chips.

Place is really great for food to go. Food is Awesome, prices are little to high. Nachos with meat and red sauce is the best.

I believe I got infected with the norovirus on Christmas Eve! As I waited for my food, I could see into the kitchen from the order counter that no one was wearing gloves or wearing hairnets while preparing my food. I had 1 tamale and 1 burrito with pork & green chili sauce (which had hardly any green sauce and the sauce wasn’t evenly distributed throughout the meat.) the flour tortilla was RAW! Prior to visiting the establishment, I had been eating at home so I know I got sick there. I am still severely sick with severe diarrhea! I’ll take a refund even though that won’t stop the cramps & diarrhea.

Nice small family owned and operated, they've been there since before I can remember. The food is amazing, I had an awesome burrito this morning. The nachos with meat are my favorite. Great place to grab and go.

Staying in Indio for a while and found this on Google maps. So glad I stopped by! Tamales are better than any restaurants for sure. Lots of meat and generous masa wrap. Just like grandma used to make. I also got Chile Verde which is excellent. I wish this place was close by my home. I would be here all the time. A must when in the area.

My review is only for the tamales, I haven't tried any of the other items on the menu yet, so stay tuned... I placed an order on a Tuesday, for a few dozen that following Sunday for my Christmas dinner. The cashier was friendly and I didn't have to wait at all. He quickly brought out my order of warm tamales, Wow talk about big ! The beef was my favorite, very flavorful. Lots of Masa! . All you need is one! The chicken was also good also, but it was a tad bit salty. This is a hole in the spot in Indio that has been around for many years. Be prepared to wait in the long line, but it is definitely worth it.

I love this local gem. Best masa for tamales. Don't get me started with the nachos! Everyone working here is always kind. I have no pictures to post because I am so impatient, I cannot wait to dig in. My family has been coming here for over 10 years.

A small place with no indoor dining. The tamales are really big. Lots of masa and plenty of meat with adequate chili. Almost $40 a dozen or $4 each tamale. Not a typical tamale I grew up with but really enjoyed them. The chorizo burrito was really big and tasty. Service really slow the day I went in. No flour tortillas for purchase that day. I think they must only make them on certain days.

Was looking for tamales for a friend who knows tamales! Checked on yelp and came to Arriolas. Looks like right place cuz there was a line and asked a couple people what they were getting and they mentioned the burritos and tamales. Get the tamale and burrito boats. Very yummy with extra meat and sauce on top. Delicioso. Service was very helpful and nice esp for us first timers coming here. People waiting in line were nice...we are waiting for 2 doz tamales to pick up in a couple hours since everyone was buying! The chips and salsa are popular too. Definitely a go to place since the local I spoke to says this is the place. I mentioned the supermarket tamales and he said they're hit or miss sometimes but at least here you know it's fresh. The verde burrito was full of pork chunks but wished it was a bit more flavorful and more seasoned. But hubs chomped it down!

Very good food. We stopped here on our way to Palm Springs from Arizona. I had the Chile Verde burrito and my wife had the bean and cheese burrito. They were delicious. The tortillas are so fresh. The only thing preventing a fifth star is that my burrito could have used more meat. Otherwise, it was great and we will be back.

Absolutely awesome food. Perfect for our office get together as they make food in bulk. Tamales, tortillas, meat, chips, man, now I'm getting hungry again. Stop by, you won't be disappointed.

Ordered Flour Tortillas and Chile Colorado Burrito. Tortillas were just ok, Chile Colorado had no flavor. Glad I didn't spend on tamales. No chile or flavorings at all. Was so looking forward too! :(

Hell yeah. Huge delish hot flavorful filling burritos for $10 and less. Might take a few min for some items so don't be in a rush. Great salsa too. I wish they had a pop up at the airport!

Nachos are a staple, as are their tortillas and tamales. There was a time where their tamales were sketchy (with clumps of dried masa), but they seem to have fixed that problem. -1 star for their wait. I've found myself trying to coordinate this stop with errands nearby so I don't have to wait 20-30 minutes for a plate to be put together. For the most part, they're good with their customer service and pretty welcoming.

Waiting 30+ minutes for a simple burrito and large nachos with meat I'll admit I love the nachos but the wait times and the disrespectful staff is crazy!

We have been looking for the best nachos in Coachella Valley, and found them right in our backyard at Arriola's Tortilleria! We got the nachos deluxe, which were deluxe indeed, homemade chips covered in beans, cheese, sour cream, guac and the most tender meat we've ever tasted! Moving on, we sailed to the tamale boat, a "boat full" of delicious tamale, and ended with the red burrito. The burrito weighed about 45 pounds () and we said we were so full we would just give it a little taste. Needless to say, that burrito is history because we couldn't help ourselves!! But looking forward to enjoying the rest of our nachos and tamale boat tomorrow (but honestly probably later today!) so happy to have found this hidden gem!!

Good food! We ordered nachos and burritos to go and ate in the car. The burritos were pretty heavy, but tasty. As a note they looked closed (no open sign) thankfully we tried the door. Also no bathroom for customer use.

Been eating here since I moved to Indio 30 years ago service is outstanding they even have shredded chicken now thank you very much can't wait to eat here again been missing my tamale boat

Born and raised in Indio California. Arriolla's has always been the go to place when you want your food craving to be meet hands down. You can't go wrong with a Chile Colorado burrito and Chips with Their famous Salsa . Today I bought 4 Chile Colorado burritos to share with my mom and my two cousins and it hit the spot. If you haven't tried them out, what are you waiting for. The customer service is 5 stars always.

8 minute drive from arreolas to home and the tamales were cold, had to put them in microwave, disappointed !!

Everything here is the best quality and authentic. Best tortillas, best tamale boats, best chili colorado and you can buy in bulk. Prices are reasonable.

Nice lady helped me with my order. I ordered to go with all sauces on the side. I thought they wound skimp on sides as some restaurants are known to do. Nope‼ I was given generous portions. I enjoyed the Chile Colorado very tasty. Next visit I will try the chili verde I'm hoping it's just as tasty .. thank you

Great tamales. Homemade tortillas. Lovely thin salsa with Mexican oregano flavor. Take out only. I would have not tried it but was given a recommendation to go there.

If you're visiting, I'd suggest stopping here. This place is a staple in the community and for good reason. Personally, I can only speak about their nachos. I don't venture outside of that. The cheese and salsa is sooooo good. You bring those and their chips to a party... everyone's your friend. lol You'd think it was a cash only spot, but they take card and you can tap pay. FYI - this is a pull up and bounce spot. No seating. All take out.

OMG! What happened! they changed the original delicious chips, original recipe. They are now serving "Cardenas" chips. That is truly too bad. They are thin chips.

Been going here for years, it's a local gem. Their nachos with meat is amazing, so is their tamale boat. Their tamales in general are amazing. I haven't tried their meals or breakfast yet but I will, I'm sure it will be amazing, everything is so far.

The great thing about this place is that is one or the first tortillería in the Southern California and still in business since 1960's I think, maybe even longer and they have kept their recipe the same way through our generations and more importantly their flavor. I need to try more of their dishes since I always order tortilla chips salsa nacho cheese and red meat. * Las papas de tortilla están buenas * la salsa es buena * el queso nacho es bueno *carne roja está rica * Precios están por encima de lo vale pagar por la salsa y el queso. Lo bueno de este lugar es que es una o la primera tortillería en el sur de California y todavía está en el negocio desde la década de 1960, creo, tal vez incluso más y han mantenido su receta de la misma manera a través de sus generaciones, lo que es más importante, su sabor. Necesito probar más de sus platos ya que siempre pido papas de tortilla, salsa, nacho, queso y carnes rojas.

Thus place was recommended to me by someone who used to go there years ago. It was just ok. I ordered the tamale boat and the burrito boat. Zero salt. Pretty bland. The tamales themselves were decent. There is no seating so they packed it to go. Not even salsa or hot sauce on the bag. The meat was tender. But that doesn't mean anything if it doesn't taste like anything. Sorry.

This is one of my favorite go to spots, coming here for years. This place is as no frills as you can get. There is no dining on site. Everything is prepared to go. Arriola's is known for their Tamales... and masa preparada. Which means prepared masa that is used for making tamales, they also sell prepared Chile paste. I have not been able to find a place in the San Jose area that does. Their tamale boats are popular, I go for the super nachos and burritos. Their Chile Colorado is excellent. Arriola's salsa is unique, they put oregano in it. This gives it a flavor that makes it stand out against your traditional salsas

I have really only bought the nachos here since I was a little girl and never tried anything else since I don't eat beef or pork but what they do, they do extremely well. Menu is small, inside the building is small and during Covid you will likely have to wait outside if there is already a couple of people in there but it's worth the wait for the food and to support a small family owned business.

Spent Christmas with my sisters in Palm Springs. Craving some tamales we happen to stumble upon Arriola's. Went there and ordered 3 dozen tamales. They were still making tamales as we ordered so we had to come back to pick them up in about an hour. I'm the meantime ordered some breakfast burritos, breakfast quesadillas and tamale boat. Everything was amazing but the tamale boat was out of this world. The chili Colorado on the tamale boat was the best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend and wish I lived closer to Palm Springs.

I must stop here every time I am in town visiting family. Large nachos with chile Colorado and a chile verde burrito to go. The food here is delicious every time and never changes.

My family and I have been coming to this place since at least the 70s. They make all of their chips, salsa, and tamales fresh in the building. Their salsa is the best, the longer it sits the hotter it gets. This place will always be a must-stop when I come back home. I highly recommend getting their chips and salsa. They also have some nachos with chile verde, which were yummy. The single serve chips and salsa is good in the styrofoam container, however I really miss having them served in the small paper bag. It was so nice to get that small paper bag with all the salsa poured on top and work your way through the bag, trying to keep your hands clean on the way down. I know this way is much cleaner, but for some reason I do miss the nostalgia of that bag. I will definitely return in the next couple of days, and again on my next trip to the desert. It may be a small hole in the wall place, but it is the best!! FYI, no seating inside, it literally is a counter and a couple of coolers. However, just know everything is freshly made there and it is definitely worth the journey.

A top! Buy chips fresh without Sala and all added onto it so it won't get soggy when you get home. Everything separate.
