One of the best provincial parks we visited. We came here in the summer for camping and the campgrounds are excellent. We cam in the winter and stayed in a cabin, which was awesome and very cosy. We visited for a hike in the fall and loved the trails and the waterfalls. Most recent time we visited for cross country skiing in early February. The trails are so well groomed, probably the best I've seen. We also enjoyed skating on the ice loop. Any time of the year this park was inviting and a lot of fun for the family and friends. You can rent skis and skates in the park if you don't have any and the rental equipment is fairly new and we'll maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Very beautiful provincial park that we visited this saturday to see fall colors. You need to have a reservation beforehand to enter into the park. There are two lakes Mayflower and arrowhead. I loved the latter one for its beautiful view and ability to do kayaking in it. There is a beautiful huge visitor center with ample parking on site. The lake is just behind that. Lot of campsites, so it's definitely a good contender for summer/ early fall camping. The big bend lookout here is famous, and it's a splendid view in peak fall colors. There is a brown bridge over Arrowhead Lake that enhances its beauty, and you can capture really good photos there. Trails are nice. Washrooms were clean. We spent our weekend well.

Google
In general, the park is great. It has a couple nice lakes & small rivers to paddle on. Some nice hiking trails and even a couple trails designated for mountain biking. Tried it all and enjoyed it thoroughly. However when it rained, our campsite, as well as our neighbour’s site became a pond; and not just a little area. This should not be happening nowadays. There’s a beautiful visitor centre.

Came here for the fire and ice! The weather was unforgiving but the atmosphere was great! We had lots of fun with the ice and snow! I loved the fresh snow here. We managed to do cross-county skiing as well as day and night skating! I loved that they had skating helpers.

Google
Great Provincial Park in Huntsville that has a multitude of hiking trails ranging from 150m and up. From the moment you cross the park boundary until you get to your site you can’t help but constantly stare in amazement at natures wonder. Granite rising above the ground level and creeks and lakes offering hours of exploration. You’ll feel like you’re the first to view the sights and sites. Mayflower Lake & Arrowhead are both amazing lake to canoe , kayak or hike around. The Big Bend-only 159 meter walk to this sight from the parking lot. Find out how Oxbow Lake was formed. Stubbs Falls cuts it’s way through the Canadian Shield as it descends. I have completely enjoyed myself here this fall and shall return for winter events like FIRE & ICE.

We had a great time. Campsites are spacious, clean washrooms, and showers. Unfortunately, it was raining the two days out of three that we were there. We did some bike riding and took some pictures. Beautiful park.

Yelp
Arrowhead Provincial Park is a nice medium-sized park with a few hiking trails and a great place to come see the Fall colors. Entrance into the park is easy to find, but entry is a bit slow because not everyone reserved a day pass and had to turn around. So don't forget to make a reservation ahead of time. Once you're in the park, drive to the visitor's center to get a printout of your day pass. I'm not sure why we're asked to print out the day pass only to also get another copy. The visitor's center is a good place to start as it's close to most place you'll want to see. Within a short distance walk is the Big Bend lookout. There's a small parking lot there, but it was a little flooded and park employees weren't allowing cars through. There isn't any hiking in this area, so snap that photo of the iconic landmark and go on your merry way. The lookout is fairly small and crowded with maskless visitors. On the other side is Stubb's Falls, which is an easy 2.6km loop trail. It's 1.6km to the falls on the side closest to the vistor's center, and 1km on the other side. The 1.6km trail is fairly dry, but the 1km side is very muddy, so make sure to bring waterproof hiking shoes. The falls themselves are very touristy and the majority of people who visit don't wear masks or keep their masks wrapped around their wrists. After the falls, you can head straight across to view a bridge and Arrowhead Lake. The beaches are pretty nice, but there are lots of mosquitoes here, so make sure to pack some repellant. I tried to park in this area to hike parts of the Arrowhead Lake Trail, but was turned away because parking was full. Overall, Arrowhead is a decent park, but there isn't too much to do or see here.

Yelp
Ontario has such beautiful parks. My friends and I road-tripped to Arrowhead Provincial Park for the long weekend - a two-hour drive north of Toronto. There were plenty of hiking trails to choose from with camping grounds, beaches and two stunning lakes. We started with an easy two-kilometres along Mayflower Lake - narrow paths at the beginning but broader as we entered the woods with amazingly tall trees. Information posts about wild animals with their paw prints for comparison were scattered around - black bears were nearly twice as ours. Moving on to yet another leisure route, we walked on wide roads reaching the truss bridge, crossing and climbing down to see Stubb's Falls. This low-force waterfall was calming and refreshing, and the sound of water flowing down the pond was smoothing - no wonder the crowd wouldn't leave. As we returned to our car, we stumbled upon a black-backed woodpecker on a tree trunk, pecking for his meal. We stopped by the beaches along the coast of Arrowhead Lake for a short break before heading to Big Bend lookout. This island-like scenic view surrounded by a river got us wowed as if it came out of a painting. True Ontario beauty.

Yelp
One of our favourite spots to camp. It is the biggest reason we fell in love with the area. The park is great, both in summer with camping or the winter with the skating trails and Yurts.

Yelp
This park is really good for winter activities. - Has a 1KM naturally flooded ice rink that runs through the forest, its really picturesque and great for fun time with the family, however, they only clean it in the morning so the later you go, the worse condition it will be in. - FREE tubing is offered here, there is usually lineups but it moves fairly quickly. - Cross country Skiing, snowshoeing and some other activities are also offered here. They rent all the equipment required to do the activities(ice skates, skis etc). I rented Ice skates and they were top class! (bauer mostly) and you shouldn't have any issues finding your size. If you're planning on doing any winter activity here though, check the weather first and see if it's going to be cold enough that day or if there is going to be enough snow, also give them a call before heading out as most of these activities are heavily weather dependent.

Yelp
Visited the park yesterday for a hike with girlfriends. The park was relatively busy for a Monday, with lots of families and kids swimming at the beach. We did the Stubbs Falls hike which took about 40 minutes, the one part of the trail was very easy and just like a walking path. After you get to the falls and cross the bridge, the trail became much more interesting and more difficult. The falls themselves were very pretty, and surprisingly powerful. The young lady at the permit office was very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed with the lack of clear signage at the park for how to actually get to the trials, etc. And then the parking signs were a big P with a red line through them, so we thought that meant no parking but actually was okay. Overall, I won't be going back. I will drive the extra 20 minutes to hike at Algonquin instead.

Yelp
Strongly recommend this place for couples, friends, groups, families. Excellent place to go for fresh air. Winter AND summer. We went for ice skating but unfortunately missed the ice and fire events. Ice and Fire events are when they lit the trail with fire torches along the trail. Because the weather usually warms up by the end of February the event only runs January and February. There is a very nice ice skating trail (yes, not a pond or open area but romantic skating along a 1.2km trail) that is a must. Bring your own skates or rent at the office. They also have cross country ski, trails to small water falls and tubing. They also rent equipment. Entrance fee is $16 per vehicle. Just make sure to pack food as they do not have a restaurant or cafeteria. They do have warming stations where you can eat and have a limited selection of drinks they sale (coffee, hot choco, tea)

Yelp
i have never never been this pissed off......................................... by going camping there then i am right now................. i have been camping there for 11 years now and i have never had a problem there until that day. the staff at arrowhead provincial park was patronizing, condescending, ignorant and rude. arrowhead provincial park staff act like i was stupid and that they do go throw the recycling bin's and i no for a fact they don't go throw the recycling bin's at all. so if i am willing to go through the recycling bin's my self then i don't see what the probably is and why i can' t keep the beer  and wine bottles and beer can's my self. it is just a wast of beer and wine bottles and beer can's they just get thrown out any ways. i worked really really hard to get all thoughts beer and wine bottles and beer can's out of the recycling bin's and to be told i can have them is anything bullshit................. and have to leave them there it's bullshit......... it is not my fault not to many people want's to put to many beer and wine bottles and beer can's on there platform. one person try's to tell me the money they get out of all the beer and wine bottles and beer can's is to purifying the park and once you put beer and wine bottles or beer can's in the recycling bin's it becomes there's now. and then another person try's to tell me all the money they get from the beer and wine bottles and beer can's they use it for there staff party at the end of the summer. i am not stupid i no exactlywhy and what you do with the money you get from the beer and wine bottles and beer can's and why you do what me to go get them out of the recycling bin's i am not stupid. i am a paying customer that goes there every year for 2 weeks and some times 3 weeks in the summer there. i used to enjoy it every year and all way look forward to go again the next year. i liked walk my dogs there, go to the beach at night to look at the star's, go swimming there and i go get any beer and wine bottles and beer can's out of the recycling bin's only only and only the ones i can reach and that is it. i even ask if i could do that and you no what they said to me as long as i don't go in side the recycling bin's i can and guess what i don't i just get the ones i can reach and that is it.  but after that day buy arrowhead provincial park staff i don't think i what to every go back to that park after that they just ruined camping there for me. arrowhead provincial park staff needs to go back to how to treat people nicer or they will be fired. arrowhead provincial park staff seems to think they own you if you stay there. i pay good money to stay there ever year. and i should not be treated like shit there. if arrowhead provincial park staff is going to be like that they should have to tell people a head of time so people have the choice to stay there or not. i would not recommend camping there ever ever if they are going to be like that at arrowhead provincial park. i just was there for 2 weeks in june and it was fine then. poor customer servicethere. and furthermore your so called commit card is nothing but a joke i have been committing every year the same thing and guess what they still do nothing on what i put on the commit card. after that day i don't thing i want to ever go back there again............... and i would like my money back from that day. nothing but bullshit there at arrowhead provincial park. i don't want to ever wast my time and my good money there again.................... your supposed to have a go time there and have fun there right but i guess not at arrowhead provincial park. nothing but bullshit..................... there. arrowhead provincial park staff act like there better then you. i want my money back.................................................................. from arrowhead provincial park on sunday july 3 2016 i said it all in this comment what i wanted to say

Yelp
This big huge park is great for all ages, families, couples, you name it. There's so much to do here, you can't get bored. We stayed for only 2 nights, and my only complaint was that our site wasn't super clean (cigarette butts, bottles etc) from the last visitor. But everything else was great! We were in Roe Campground which had some lovely flush toilets instead of the usual vault toilets. It was fairly private even though there were a lot of people around, never really saw them. There was a group with loud music during the night and I appreciated the rangers shushing them. But we were spoiler last year with a lake side Campground at another Park, and hard to go back to facing trees. Site 457 was beside the toilets but didn't find it an issue. It was a short walk to the comfort station for a shower. Still needed a drive out to get to the beach. It should have been for 2 tents but seems to only fit 1. The comfort stations at Roe were pretty good. They were decently clean. No bugs. Water could be warmer. Peak time seemed to be 7 or 8pm. There are 3 beaches. You can rent canoes or kayaks. Lots of place to paddle, a larger Lake (arrowhead) or Mayflower. We explored the big Lake, caught some fish. Loved the smaller rivers we had to manoeuvre through it was fun and kept things interesting. The waterfall was cool too. The park also has lots of trails to go through. Do not go through the Beaver Meadow after it rains or you will be attacked by flies and bugs. Otherwise it was quite fun and a steady terrain. You can also rent bikes and go explore the trails that way. Fun for the whole family! Would come back.

Yelp
For some reason to navigate on Apple or Google map with the postal code they give takes you to a place in the park without going through the front entrance so you have to take the highway back to exit 226 to go through the front to buy your parking tickets, which was pretty inconvenient. I guess I went there late. The park closes at 5 and I got there 4. The ice skating trail was very bumpy and uneven since they only flood it in the morning. At the end of the day it was hard to skate on with a lot of snow on the trail. But it's understandable since I went on Sunday and the place is packed. Since I got there late I didn't get to try many things, but the view is beautiful. There are people just walking on the ice trail with other skaters, people having their dogs with boots pull them when they are on skates, or putting their baby in a little plastic bin and dragging the baby along. It was pretty fun. Just try to go earlier in the morning so you can skate on better ice and maybe try tobogganing or skiing as well. The park also provide skate rentals and supposed to provide service to sharpen blades but it wasn't open the day I went. There are some inns on the way into the park so you can also stay for a few days to try out more stuff.

Yelp
The park is great. Summertime camping, beach, really enjoyed canoe rides to the falls. This year we noticed that they moved the canoes rental place off the beach. It's quite a hike where you have to carry the canoe from the gift shop, across the field, across the parking lot, down the hill to the beach, and afterwards back up. That was a pain. why have canoes uphill and off the beach? not for the convenience of the visitors, certainly. Also, surprise, they won't rent personal flotation devices (PFD's) because of COVID19. You have to go into town to buy them. The person at the counter said "$15 at Walmart". Walmart didnt have them, except ones for tots. Canadian Tire had them, $40+. I'm not unhappy about buying the PFD's, only the inconvenience that when I had called them a day earlier about renting a canoe, they didnt tell me we needed to bring our own PFD's. By the time we got back with our brand new PFD's, the canoes were all rented and we had to wait to the afternoon. Put quite a damper on our day's schedule, dent in the ol' wallet, and then had to carry the canoe down to the beach and back. Still, the canoe ride to the falls is spectacular and beautiful. Lake is quiet. Small fishes. Campsites are great, we usually stay in the east river campground. Been going there for many years. Wintertime, the cross-country trails are really great. Have not been there yet for the nighttime skating through the forest trails, but that's on the bucket list.

Yelp
We had a really great hike last week thru Stubb's Falls. The only downside was the 2nd half was muddy but expected because of all the rain.

Julie G.

Yelp
Pretty park, good campsite as well. Enjoyed the beaches and the trails. Unfortunately every night - three in a row- there was loud music, yelling and singing until at least 1am each night. Talked to the wardens two nights in a row but the party just kept going. Not the nature experience we were looking for. Certainly won't be back.

Yelp
I skied here on a regular basis with my old high school ski /cross country teams. This is the place I miss most in Huntsville when I'm away. The trails are always well groomed for skiing, and they seem to be constantly improving on them year after year. Additionally they have added snowshoe trails, and skijouring events. If you don't know what skijouring is, its where your dog pulls you on skis, and it's SO much fun. They have several heated cabins to rest in during the winter, and a top-notch Jackrabbit program for kids (intro to nordic skiing). If you are new to skiing, they rent out skis as well. The gate staff are helpful and full of character. Expect Arrowhead to be packed in the summer, as it is a popular camping destination. This park is what makes me homesick.

Mj F.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place for all seasons, they have a variety of great outdoor activities for everyone! I love this place!

Yelp
5 stars for this National Park in Huntsville, ON. We came here on Family day weekend from Minnett and had a blast. The cross country skiing is challenging and very scenic. The park was busy with people but the trails were surprisingly quiet and serene. We also skated on the skating trail at night that was lit by tiki torches. For a whole day of skiing and skating the price was only about $35, including rentals.

Mischa S.

Yelp
I highly recommend this for families and car camping. It has, arguably, one of the best dog areas. Our boy gives it a four out four paws as a swim and play area.
