Arrowtown Lodge

One of the best stays if not the best we had on our two week trip in the South Island. Rooms were great and well maintained, morning breakfast amazing. Hosted by Paul couldn’t have been any friendlier and helpful. When we return to arrowtown the lodge will be the only place we will stay.

Stayed for 3 nights, had booked the Studio but Paul put us in the Loft. ( Not sure if he had double booked it but the Studio was free that 1st night we were there but Paul was not around) Didn't mind to much but the Studio has much more space. Location is close to town, very comfortable bed and warm room with a good shower. When someone is staying in the Studio below you it pays to close your bathroom door downstairs as we could hear most of the couples conversation through out the night. There was 1 glass and 1 coffee cup that was dirty and no coffee sachets or teaspoons. Also had the pleasure of a mouse running around in the ceiling.

Sadly, we were terribly disappointed with the accommodation here. It was tiny with lots of stairs (both internal and external)Hopeless if you have heavy luggage or you are older. No offer was made to assist us with our bags. There is nowhere to hang clothes, no coat hangers, windows don't shut properly or lock. The bathroom is so small that you need to put your toothbrush on the toilet seat lid.We had a day without water which meant using public amenities 5 minutes walk away. There was not even an offer of a discount for the inconvenience. I would definitely NOT recommend this accommodation to anyone.

We were welcomed by the charming Paul on arrival, who knew everything & everyone so was the perfect host - he’s also a talented gardener & cook, so the grounds are beautiful and the breakfast to die for. We stayed in the “Foxes” room, which was cosy & luxe, with everything we could have wanted. We especially loved lounging in the sunny courtyard surrounded by greenery and birdsong, it was so private & serene despite being only minutes away from the village. The private outdoor fireplace and spa took it to the next level. On the downside: the bed was dangerously comfortable, making it hard to get up as early as we would’ve liked. Loved the smal cabins. Lovely outdoor areas with a fireplace. Small rooms. Short walk to the city center. Large playground just down the street the corner

We had the most beautiful stay at this cosy and welcoming accommodation in Arrowtown. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by our friendly host Paul who was extremely welcoming and knowledgable. We hadn’t booked much for this trip and didn’t realise how difficult it would be to even get a dinner reservation but after a couple minutes Paul was on the phone and worked his magic and we had a reservation at La Rumbla restaurant which was an incredible experience. |Our room was luxurious with a generous sized courtyard where we entertained our family each night and we were lucky enough to have a spa outside our room hidden away amongst the gorgeous gardens. This place is only a stones throw away from the town centre and you could easy stumble home after dinner. |A great place and we will be back again as we loved it here and a big thank you to a Paul who also gave brilliant recommendations on what to do. Everything. He recommended was on point and the bike ride to the vineyards was outstanding . |Thanks Paul for an amazing stay- you made it that little bit more special. |We will be back. |Mario and Rudi

We had a lovely stay here! We especially enjoyed all the landscaping around the property, it must look extra fab when the tulips start to bloom! Paul is great and has lots of good recommendations. Would definitely recommend!

Comfortable room in a great spot, with a wonderful host. We booked from Sydney airport when it became apparent we were going to miss our connection in Queenstown. Paul was so helpful and we met him the following morning over some of the best bacon and eggs I have ever had. |The lodge is a couple of hundred metres from the historic main street of Arrowtown. |An altogether great experience in one of our favourite places on earth.
