Cozy and really nice restaurant in a classic old vaulted ceiling basement (old castle dungeon feeling). The food was really tasty and nicely presented, and the service was very attentive. The atmosphere was amazing with the correct amount of lighting (not a lot), and very quiet so you can have a nice conversation. Prices were reasonable and with appetizers, main courses, dessert, and 2 glasses of wine, you will just cross 1000 kr. The only drawback was that we had 3 different waiters serving us instead of one, so had to repeat some things.

We dined here last month (January) and enjoyed the cozy setting. The food was delicious, but we felt that the varmrätt wasn’t warm enough. Additionally, the waitress didn’t explain the dishes well. The service was also a bit slow. Oh btw they have a delicious scones 🤤

Atmosphare was beyond amazing loved it sooo much, we had some issues on the service based on the time it took for things, we understood that the food would take some while but the drinks took far too long. The food looked really good, we where served entrée which we found not seasoned enough and some items not cooked enough. The main course was really cooked well, same there that some stuff where not seasoned enough. We did not get asked how we wanted our meat to get cooked so when the servers arrived with different cooked meats (like well done, rare, medium rare) nobody knew which who was who. We do understand that this place was recently opened so we do understand it might be a bit strange at first.

We went for the Valentines Day dinner, the menu was great, wine menu to accompany the plates was also amazing. Service was 10/10

Wonderful dinner in a cozy setting. We had plentiful food and wine for a decent price and the dishes were stellar. Shout-out to the great, fresh Toast Skagen, delicious tenderloin, and the amazing souffle.

Very nice and old building. Perfect environment for a good dinner. Food is very tasty and lovely and friendly waitresses.

Very old-school place. Though the cellar vibe was nice. I took the set menu. The Starter was ok - bread with salmon and shrimp salad on top - something I could put together at home easily. The steak I had was a very weird colour (looked like pork) but tasted kinda like beef. They also didn’t ask me how the beef should be cooked. I didn’t enjoy it even though I’d didn’t taste off. It took them forever with the dessert setup and ended up with a sloppy pancake and vanilla ice cream scoop that was over-frozen and completely crystallised. The service seems quite inexperienced. The wine (got another one than I ordered) was good. For the price, I don’t think this was worth it.

Being a vegetarian, we tried this restaurant and must say it's amazing. Though there are only 2 dishes for us but they were extremely delicious. Outstanding ambience !

Kockska Huset is on Stortorget only two blocks from the central station. The building is an old warehouse and has a great interior atmosphere. I tried the 'Swedish Menu' which has: First Course: Kalixlöjrom med rödlök, gräddfil och smörstekt brioche (Roe with red onion, sour cream and butter fried brioche) - It was a great blend of flavors and the perfect serving size to start the evening. Second Course: Örtbakad renfilé med svampragu och svartvinbärssås (Herb-baked reindeer with mushroom ragout blackcurrant) - Phenomenal Third Course: Inbakad Västerbottenost smaksatt med kummin (Baked cheese flavored with cumin) - I was told this was typical swedish cheese. I haven't had it anywhere else, but I want more!!! Dessert: Nylagad vaniljglass med hjortronkompott (Freshly made vanilla ice cream with cloudberry compote) - Ah, yummy! There are so many other things on the menu I want to try. I think I shall return, and soon.

a classic Swedish restaurant in Malmö. If you are looking for a place to eat that isn't your classic tourist joint, then this is it! With only one night in town this restaurant was a perfect choice. Why: - classic Swedish dishes - broad array of options including fish venison ox and an array of starters. (Approx. 305Kr / $37) - atmosphere can't be beat - you get an array of house made bread and two butters organic and fried delicious - service is excellent very professional - meals begin with an amuse buché - broad wine list but honestly the house wine was excellent, they serve at the table so after you taste it you can choose to keep it! (89kr /$10 USD) A note about the cooking: apparently with the venison they both pan fry and bake the meat then balance the internal temperature so as not to stress the meat, the result a tender delight served with a Jerusalem artichoke purée which blends with the dark venison reduction sauce,add salt to taste. Directions: Tucked to the side of the large square (not the touristy little square) you have to walk downstairs to the restaurant. -

So let me preface by saying that the food from this place is actually very decent. We had the tasting menus, and serving size is actually quite humongous (as opposed to say, French cooking portions). But, don't expect good service unless you make a reservation. We walking in off the street and were immediately treated with disdain. Asked for a table for 2 and was asked in return if we had a reservation. We said no, and the host just shook his head, and proceeded to seat us at this small table for 2 aka the kids' table. Even though the restaurant was only about 50-60% full. Service was okay, but because a large group was beside us spending a lot more kroners, our was, not ignored, but not that well attended. Given a bunch of good restaurants around the area, this wouldn't be my 1st choice next time I'm around.

My boyfriend took me to his restaurant on a date and I absolutely loved it. The service was good and the atmosphere in the restaurant is fantastic. Food was also just absolutely delicious. Loved every second of it.

Good even for it's high prices but not very exciting. Traditional food done well, but nothing to get excited over. Nice atmosphere in an historical building.

A place where only tourist goes, cause swedes don't spend this much money on food and if they do they spend it on more modern cousines. However very nice! Located in a traditional very old house in the center.
