After staying at this formerly great hotel every year for over 15 years, I am saying good-bye. They changed ownership a few years ago, and while the hotel was still good, it was no longer great. Plus, when I canceled my booking for this year's BioFach, they informed me that there was an 80% charge for not canceling 30 days before the start date. I asked them to waive the fee for a long-term customer, but they would not budge. That will teach me not to read the newly-added fine print. Hopefully, this will teach them that stuff happens, people cancel for all kinds of reasons, and treating loyal customers like cash cows is very unacceptable.
