A wonderful hotel in a great location with very comfortable rooms. Every member of staff we interacted with was polite, engaging and gave great service. The restaurant team were first class even at busy times and breakfast was not your standard buffet. Every meal we had was individually cooked using top class ingredients and presented beautifully. Would definitely use again

We recently spent 2 nights at the AD Masonic Hotel in Napier. The location is perfect for visiting Napier and gives you easy access to the Marine Parade with its restful and verdant gardens along with the fun walk along the ocean/bayfront. Abundant shopping and of course all of the beautiful Art Deco buildings surround the hotel. We stayed in of the top floor suites so our room experience may be a bit different from others, but the room was spacious and included a bayfront view in the sitting area which included dining space and a kitchenette. We also had access to an outdoor veranda which overlooked the Marine Parade. The common space, lobby and restaurant were beautifully appointed and had so many fun pictures and objects to look at. We had breakfast in the restaurant and had great food and service. The front desk staff was great and accommodated storing our luggage prior to check in and after check out. We highly recommend this hotel and location.

I stayed here for 4 nights and had an excellent experience. I was in the single room which was small but perfectly formed. The room had all the amenities I needed and was very comfortable and quiet. The room was very clean and had lots of lovely period features. The staff at reception and in the restaurant and bar are very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent with everything in walking distance and it’s a short uber ride to the airport. Would definitely stay again. Was good value for money.

We drove up to Napier from Wellington on our trip from south to north in New Zealand arriving at the Masonic Hotel late afternoon. It was very easy to find and has a prime location on Marine Parade overlooking the beach and the Pacific beyond - next landfall would be Chile!|It is a stunning Art Deco building - amongst many in Napier - but the hotel has been beautifully and carefully preserved. Our room was very comfortable with all the amenities required but with a distinct style and character. All the staff were friendly and efficient. We dined out whilst we stayed in Napier for no other reason than that is always what we do but took breakfast in the restaurant each morning. Breakfast was just great and the selected menu options were cooked to a high standard - perfectly cooked poached eggs are not easy but they were delivered each morning, perfectly. The staff at breakfast were excellent.|Thank you.

Very nice stay in a lovely period building. The service from check-in was excellent. Stayed one night. Although the room was a bit on the small side it was adaquate for a one night stay. The room had a doorway onto a common terrace which we did not use, our room had no other view. The accomodation was clean and comfortable. The bathroom spacious with a walk in shower. No safe in the room. We had a meal in the adjoining Irish Bar and breakfast in the cafe/bar at the front of the hotel. The breakfast was made to order from a menu and was very nice, probably the best breakfast we had had since arriving in New Zealand a week earlier. The location of the hotel is across the road from the ocean front and perfect for the town centre. Parking was in a leased lot a few streets away but you could park in the hotel loading bay to load/unload luggage. If I was to visit Napier again I would probably stay in the Art deco again.

Beautiful hotel right on the ocean front, with really well appointed rooms and great access to the lovely veranda overlooking the sea. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the room, although quite compact, was sympathetically decorated for the art deco theme and very comfortable. We would thoroughly recommend it for Napier.

Had 2 nights here on our trip round New Zealand- great hotel in a lovely Art Deco building. The rooms are smaller than others we stayed in but that’s due to the buildings age and design but they were clean, comfortable and well equipped. Had a good meal in K Kitchen one night. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly - our luggage hadn’t arrived in New Zealand with us and we had to make numerous calls to the airline which the hotel helped facilitate were were very grateful for their assistance.

Yelp
Cute Art Deco hotel across from the Napier Library and Art Museum. Walk across the street to enjoy the beach.
Napier is filled with so many historic Art Deco gems. After the earthquake of 1931 that destroyed downtown Napier. The city was rebuilt in the style that was fashionable at the time, Art Deco. Today, these buildings are preserved leading to a large collection of beautiful buildings in a relatively compact area.

Yelp
The room was comfortable. It cost $269 to stay here, which is reasonable. The customer service was impressive. Parking is free after 5 p.m. which is great! Very close to the beach, which is lovely. Stores close at 5 p.m., which was unexpected - so if you want to explore the shops, you'll need to do that early. Would recommend staying here!

Yelp
This hotel is fabulous. Bryan, the representative who checked us in was extremely helpful. He added so much to our stay through his suggestions for what to do and making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The historic hotel is extremely comfortable and located perfectly in the city.
We also enjoyed a fabulous dinner in the restaurant.
If they have availability, stay here! You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
A beautiful hotel and had a wonderful experience. It was a shame we could only stay one night! My husband and I were there while we were on our honeymoon, and they upgraded our room to a suite! The staff was so lovely, and even left us a bottle of wine to celebrate.
The hotel is right across the street from a beach, and was absolutely gorgeous and pristine inside.
I'd also recommend the Emporium (the attached restaurant). While it was a little expensive, my husband and I agree it was the best meal we had our whole trip in New Zealand!
Thank you for magnificent night!

Yelp
The decor and detailing is seriously on point - out of the ordinary, carefully considered. They manage to integrate striking patterns, different textures and eclectic furnishings while avoiding straying into tacky or cliche looks.
It's also got all you want in terms of comfort. Would definitely return!
Stayed with my family, we took 3 rooms. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful.

Yelp
Love this hotel. Lovely experience. Wonderful staff, beautiful property, lovingly cared for and kept city. Napier is a gem of history and the Masonic is the most wonderful place to stay while visiting.
