Beautiful art gallery and it's free on thursday evenings. While small, they have extraordinarily nice paintings, plus they have amazing Maud Lewis! And the gift store is just perfect to find souvenirs.

Free Thursday nights after 5pm, can casually walk through all the exhibits in an hour-ish as it’s not a large gallery. Also not busy at all it was largely empty. Most interesting exhibit is the local one on Maud Lewis and her painted house which physically got put inside the museum! Cute little gift shop.

I’ve been traveling a lot, and wherever I go, I make a point of visiting local art galleries. I was truly impressed by this one—deeply rooted in Canadian and First Nations art. It was an amazing visit and a memorable experience that I highly recommend. To truly understand a city and its people, one must connect with their past and those who came before. This art gallery is beautifully dedicated to that purpose.

Some really great exhibits/shows on. Wish they had more gift shop merch related to said shows. There were a lot of great indigenous artists but nothing for purchase related to these shows which was disappointing. Worth a visit even for the long-standing Maud Lewis section. The map/way-finding could be better. It’s a confusing and maze-like building and i’m not convinced I actually saw everything!

My family went with me on a Thursday, this week. It was a great experience for all of us. The Maud Lewis installation was great and the cat paintings were awesome. 10/10 would recommend for all ages😊

Beautiful gallery, very clean and well organized with a variety of art from local artists and specialized collections. Maud Lewis's exhibit was stunning and worth a see. The gift shop also had a lot of great gifts for art loving friends and family.

I visited the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia one hour before closing. They have a variety of permanent installations and temporary ones. There is such a diversity of art mediums. The gallery is split between a north building and a south building. To enter the gallery, enter on the north side of the south building, off of Bedford Row. The staff, including the person selling me the ticket, security guards, and gift shop employees were so friendly and knowledgeable. If you love art, this is a great place to visit!
