My impression of the stay is that it is good. The rooms have been renovated and are quite clean. Parking is not on site and is a few minutes walk away. As for the parking, the staff's explanation was clear and kind, so the staff's service is adequate in my opinion. However, I am not convinced that another coin parking is cheaper if you don't take it in and out. There is a Seikoma and a convenience store on the other side of the road, which is basically good, but there are shopping malls and a train station a short drive away. The front desk is spacious and can be used even if it is crowded. The front desk is spacious and can be used even when crowded, and the outside can be used as a banquet hall for large groups. There is a spa and other facilities in the basement, including a sauna. The restaurant on the top floor is delicious and has a variety of dishes to choose from. Great to be able to make reservations through the app. I will meditate on the elevator. That's my review, sorry it's so long!

This is my sixth trip to Japan, second trip to Hokkaido. I have plenty of hotels at different price points to compare this place to. It just doesn't measure up. The hotel room is dated and not in a cool vintage Showa way. Carpets are stained filthy. The bathroom is older than me and I'm 54. It also had an odor. I stayed for two nights with my daughter and while the superior upgraded room was big, the over all feeling of the room and the banged up hallways was downright depressing. I don't expect stellar customer service anywhere, I don't expect any one to speak a word of English. We use google translate haven't had an issue elsewhere. It was clear we were not welcome. When I asked for some assistance to book a body scrub, they pointed to an app- the app I already downloaded because i understand the concept of a QR code yet appointment times weren't translated. When I tried to book in person at the spa, I was told they were closed for the day and then I saw 3 other women get scrubs. The entire stay felt very uncomfortable.

Room 624 is old, cramp (can't even put our luggages down to unpack and pack, see photo), dirty with many dirt marks on wall (see photo), broken under sink cover (see photo), unlevelled bath with water flowing onto the bathroom floor while showering with shower curtain covered. Plus it's just next to the lift, so noisy with many people talking just outside the room 624 while waiting for the lift!!! Service at Minori restaurant is great. Haven't interacted with front desk staff as we travel with tour group. The room is nowhere near what was shown on website, that's false advertising.

Pros|Location - Walking distance from JR Asahikawa station. Close to Heiwa Dori Shopping Street|Room - Very comfortably appointed, quite spacious by Japanese standards. Our 11th Floor room had a nice view of the city with picturesque mountain background|Food - All 3 eateries on site were really good. The view from the top floor restaurant 'Minori' was amazing with almost 360 deg view of the city backed by mountains green and snow covered|Amenities - Very good with friendly and helpful staff |Other - Quite a luxurious stay at the mid-range price point||Cons|Almost none

The fact that they only have such a low rating puzzles me. We have stayed at this hotel for only one night as a stopover, so we didn't expect much from the hotel. But from the booking process to check-out, we were thoroughly impressed. The staff were well-trained and professional—one even farewelled us on the street after we checked out, simply because he saw us leaving the hotel. Our room was clean, fully functional, and equipped with everything we needed. If I had to mention a few things they could improve on: There wasn't electric ventilation in the bathroom. While there was a ventilation hole in the ceiling, it didn't seem to do much. As a result, the corners of the mirror showed signs of damage from excess moisture. The bathroom looked a bit dated and discoloured, which some guests might find unappealing. The furniture also appeared a bit old. Personally, I didn't mind because they worked fine and were well-designed, but this might be off-putting for others. We are not fans of public baths, so we can't comment on that facility. As for parking, all the hotels in Asahikawa's CBD seem to lack their own parking lots, so they charge reasonable parking fees. We didn't mind paying 1,000 yen for 24-hour parking—compared to Australia, where CBD hotels typically charge at least 30 AUD per night. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and if we visit Asahikawa again, we'll definitely choose the Art Hotel again.

Really disappointing stay. The rooms look and feel over 30 years old, with a musty smell and degraded bathrooms. For a 20-floor building, there are only two elevators — constant waiting, very frustrating. Check-in is painfully slow and outdated. Breakfast was overcrowded, the rooms are smaller than expected, and the beds uncomfortable. Outdated, badly maintained, and not worth the money. There are far better options in Asahikawa — I would not stay here again.

A pleasant stay at Art Hotel Asahikawa. While the room was on the smaller side, it was clean and adequately equipped for a short stay. The real highlight, however, was the buffet breakfast at the Minori restaurant with an excellent view—an exceptional spread with both Western and Japanese offerings, all fresh and delicious. The hotel lobby was spacious and tastefully designed, with charming touches like the adorable plush animals display. Convenient location and friendly staff made the overall experience rather pleasant.

It is one of the tallest buildings in Asahikawa. It has access to the nearby park and also the busy shopping street, it is located in the near center of the city, where the AEON mall, the biggest and only mall here, is also in reach. There is also a great ramen shop, which is extremely Japanese and delicious. The rooms are also great!
