We stayed four nights in this hotel in two adjoining rooms with a connecting door, a really convenient feature. Although the rooms are a bit dated, they are spacious and comfortable. The only downside is that the duvets do not have fully enclosed covers.||Breakfast is very good and offers a wide selection of food. It was quite crowded and a bit chaotic on the first two days, as it was a long weekend in Japan, but the staff managed the situation well. ||The hot baths are clean and relaxing, with a well-organised changing room. The swimming pools, which include a small water slide, are fun for the kids.||The hotel is located a little outside the busiest area of the city but within easy walking distance from both the shops and the remote island pier. There are also a number of excellent restaurants on the road outside the hotel. We tried a dumpling place and an izakaya, both of which were exceptional. ||What impressed us the most about this hotel was the help we received from the General Manager on our last day. We were expecting an important document to arrive by courier, but unfortunately, it had not arrived by the time we checked out. The General Manager was very kind and offered to personally deliver the document to our next hotel. In the end, we received the document once we arrived at our next hotel. It was a truly thoughtful gesture and we were very grateful for it.||Other highlights: folk song performance in the evening, you receive vouchers if you opt for eco cleaning

Staying at Art hotel is one the best decision I made for my 6-day trip in Ishigaki. They not only have wonderful room facilities and spa. The cafe on the ground door is such a great indulgent after exploring the island. Art hotel also offers e-scooter for easy transportation option to go to the high street which is very useful and interesting. Love art hotel and will recommend them to whoever going to travel in Ishigaki

Good location, near to Ishigaki ferry terminal where vendors pick up and drop off participants for water activities, however parking spaces in the main carpark are always full and the second carpark is quite a distance away. The pool and suntanning deck were nice but pool was filled with kids and their parents and you can't do any lap swimming. Pool also opens late from 0930hrs so no early morning swim. Long queue to enter restaurant for buffet breakfast every morning. Love the initiative of getting 1000 yen voucher if you skip housekeeping.

Asked the male concierge if they could organise a birthday cake since we spent my boyfriend's birthday at the hotel and he told me to order a cake from the cafe nearby. Not helpful. Shocked. Other than that the rooms were decent and they have a good programme where you can skip the full housekeeping in exchange for credits to use at the hotel. The other concierge staff members were very friendly and helpful with reservations

Super nice surprise- we booked this without much information, and it’s a great hotel and - a rare occasion- our room for three actually has three real beds not just an additional sofa-bed, superb! Very helpful staff, a your desk, a top cafe (we love cakes!) and two good restaurants with fair prices (the third was closed when we were there) makes this a solid five. Makes me even accept the absence of the free water bottles in the room, something I became used to during the trip, but definitely a bearable sacrifice

Great surprise - a City Hotel which isn’t quite in the city, but you can walk there in 20 min or take a taxi for 5 dollars (500 Yen). Also, a shuttle bus takes you several times a day to a very nice beach partner hotel. I’d say 4-star level (think “Crowne Plaza” if you know the IHG chain); my real happiness started when we found three real beds in our triple room, not just two beds and a sofa-bed as it is way too often other places. Breakfast is ok, you probably like it best if you like traditional Japanese breakfast (there are other things, too).

Lovely and helpful staff: front desk, the tourist info booth, and store staff were all extremely helpful with pretty good English. The location is great if you’re looking to go to Banna park, the stalactite caves (highly recommend), and some local izakayas. It was only a 20min walk to city center which is fun if you’re young and able. Might be a lot in the heat with kids or for the elderly. But it’s only a short 5min taxi to city center. Also very convenient to always have taxis at the hotel. Dinner was good, with nice variety and an all you can drink option at a reasonable price. Still, at the price for buffet, I would hope alcohol drinks would be free. The ube ice cream might be the greatest ice cream I’ve ever had. The store is well stocked with snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and miscellaneous items helpful for enjoying the sun. The pool is nice on the hot days but is definitely more kid-focused and fills up fast.

Where to even begin... tiny rooms that are even smaller than they appear in pictures, no bottles of water are provided, no late check-out (and no services to account for late flights, like clean showers with soap from a day at the beach... the minimum. You have to pay to use services after checkout!) Pool showers are dirty, loud kids everywhere, etc etc can't believe we paid 650$ for two nights in one of the worst hotels we've been to so far. None of our room requests were taken into account. This is far from a 4 stars hotel, clearly much moreso a 3 star hotel.
