Art Hotell

An ok hotel, arguably above average for the region but not quite up to Western standards I’d suggest. The regions style is like your Nans house in the 80’s, odd but seemingly the style in that area. The staff are friendly enough when you engage with them, although the staff go home in the afternoon so it can be difficult to get any form of assistance after 1700, although there is a number. It’s looking tired in places but the room was spacious enough. Internet was relatively ok although the tv doesn’t have many international channels. Breakfast was self serve continental, with a choice of tea or coffee. It has a free car park right outside which is good, there’s a bar/restaurant over the road although the staff there seem quite miserable but the food was ok. Forget the stigma, Estonia isn’t a cheap place to visit so at €350 for four nights it’s not cheap but about average. I’d stay again if I had to but to be honest I’d prefer to stay in a more modern hotel in Tallinn and travel.

Enjoyed Rakvere from this location. Staff were pleasant and helpful. No elevator. The room was clean and had a comfortable bed. The breakfast selection and taste were good. We stayed in room number 2. I am 63 inches tall. Because of the slanting roof, I was able to stand straight in less than half of the small bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom has no surface for toiletries. The bedroom has hooks but no hangers or wardrobe. There are hooks and two shelves near the floor. We used the two chairs to support suitcases for easier access. There is a nice mirror. I recommend it and it would stay here again if ever return to Rakvere but ask for a different room if staying more than one night.

Positive: Breakfast, good service, renovated spacious bathroom. 15 pro cent discount in Art Cafe. Beautiful rooms downstairs. Location, free parking.. Negative: The room was hot ( it was a sunny day, autumn though), voices were heard from the corridor, the night table was not cleaned ( juice there). The gardener started to work outside with a trimmer at 7.20am ☹️. Well, the hotel is situated in the center so noise is ‘normal’..

I booked this hotel room lately - shortly before coming. And not regret.|Old wooden building with nice atmosphere around.|Car parking in the hotel yard behind the building.|Very cosy and visually nice room, equipped with beautiful bathroom.|Convinient and large bed, had a good relax.|Hotel is quite silent means no other people heard etc. Only you hear cars on the street nearby as hotel is located near to the street.|First impression about breakfast - weak offer. Still I changed my opinion after got warm filled pancake (could be better by taste and more hot to ensure cheese melts inside) - it is being called "attitude". Respect!|

We got room number 10 which is very spacious, warm and cosy. |There is a big and spacious bathroom. |The only disappointment- no drinking water offered in the room.|There was no hair-dryer as well, but we got it downstairs at reception. |Breakfast was various and tasty.|

We went to this hotel reception for check-in. There were nobody and was only a text at the door that we will call to one number. Then came the salesperson with a dog. She let her dog to walking freely at the room so I couldn’t go to the reception desk. My spouse reached there (before this dog was letting freely walk) and started to fill the check-in form. This dog was sitting next to me for a while and then came closer to me. I didn’t like that she will go very close and told that “don’t go there, I don’t want this”. Then girl from reception came and told me at impolite way that “you should tell at first when you came that you don’t like dogs!” I just admired !and didn’t told anything but thought - this is abnormal, the salesperson could ask at first from visitors does she can let her dog to go freely walk at this room??? I didn’t feel that we are very welcome at this hotel but thought- ok, maybe this is just one thing what we could pass. |Then we went to our room and discovered that there was only towels for one person. My spouse called to reception number ad they give us another towel. So we were not very welcome second time. |Later when we came back from town and wanted to go sleep we discovered that there were only one very narrow blanket. So one of us was should sleep without blanket and it seems the bed was also for one person. So third time when we feel that we were not welcome there. |Disappointing and bad experience unfortunately. It seems they don’t like their guests and could behave politely. Don’t choose this hotel again. |

Positive: Location is good for everyone who prefer city life. Across street is pretty good restaurant for dinner with option to make common invoice.. Negative: Hotel is built is existing house and don't really meet the requirements of the comfortable hotel- bath room is not convenient and a helmet is required when moving in rooftop rooms..

A great location - right in the centre of the city; 2 min of walking to AQVA SPA and around 10 min to the Rakvere castle. Cosy, quiet and clean place with friendly helpful staff. The room is clean and cosy with everything one needs for a night or two. What I liked was an electrical teapot in the room, also there was tea and coffe which is always a huge plus. The breakfast was awesome: local products, a wide choice of products, delicious (like really tasty). I will definitely stay here again when I am in Rakvere!
