"Down a tiled path through a cacti garden sits a cheery adobe art gallery turned desert getaway. Located in Las Cruces’ historic Old Mesilla, this home offers easy access to a quaint western town. Inside and outside of the rental, mosaics dazzle from the floors to the doors and walls. Choose between openness and privacy when you pick which memory foam mattress to rest your head on for the night: The master bedroom is tucked behind a wooden door, while the other king sized bedroom connects to the rest of the home. A carved out nook in the dining room holds a third resting place, perfect for a post-meal nap."

The museum was locked today when we visited but is usually open on Sundays afternoons. Speaking with the manager of "The Hood" (that shares the same building) we found out that Art Obscura is temporarily closed for a few months while relocating the art to a new building. There is no sign on the door currently and hopefully the owner will put up a sign to let future visitors know that it is closed. Update: The owner was nice enough to call me back and explained the situation of not being able to put up a sign due to not having the lease. Will visit again after the move.

This place is amazing. They have a variety of art and antiques to show that make a unique experience. The art is from the local area, all the art has is unique taste and some have a twist on the local area. The antiques are a pleasure to see, there is a range from arcades to old phones. The people in charge a wonderful.

I've gone to Art Obscura plenty of times and every time has always been a great experience. This last time I went was for a poetry reading. I knew a few of the people participating and I'm glad at how diverse they are at this place with different events. I've also gone to support local bands or visiting bands and there's always a wide range. Either in between set or break periods, it's always great to look around at all of the art or antiques. The met the owner Deret a while ago and he's super nice and just a chill guy. He's always there during events and I think that says a lot about how he interacts with his place. Keep up the great work man and can't wait to see what future events you bring!

Great space with a Very small performance area. Sound was good, could be much better (no, not louder, better), the galley was amazing. And best of all the place smelled fantastic. Will definitely be back!

Each visit to Art Obscura I find something new: from electric landscape paintings to cheeky buttons and magnets, this store is FUN! The best part is the way the old and new are paired side by side: carefully curated collectibles from years past right next to the freshest, never-before-seen art made by emerging professional artists. When you go, don't forget to go upstairs for even more art and antiques!

One of the best art galleries I've been to :) Proud to say that Las Cruces has an art gallery that reaches to a different demographic. Fun vibe, professional, but not in the least bit 'normal.' Definitely a must see if you're going to visit Las Cruces or live there!
