We take a road trip across California's desert vistas in a retro campervan - SilverKris

"Right next to the museum, her shop is packed with handmade creations fashioned from desert trash she’s collected, along with screen‑printed T‑shirts and other knick‑knacks; the cheeky spirit shows up in pieces like a painted rock that reads, “Hey! Why not smash your ‘smart’ phone with this rock?”" - Syahirah Mazlan

The cutest spot to get independently designed clothing and merch. Loved the clothing and design choice. Parking is street parking, there are a couple spots in front of the stores available for parking. The artist is super friendly. People come from all over to visit her shop. Definitely recommend for people looking for alternative clothing and gifts.

Wow I’m so happy i went to the crochet museum and this little store. Original, creative and whimsical things, you could find all kinds of home decor items, as well as apparels, bags and accessories here. Love it!

One place we haven't visited in a long time in Joshua Tree, California, is the Art Queen. In the Art Queen is known for the World Famous Crochet Museum. Which is really a fun thing to look inside. There is some great artwork, some beautiful and some a bit quirky but everyone has different taste in art. It's a great place to look around. Yes, I will admit we both love artwork, and at the Art Queen, you will never know what you find. We always have a great experience here.

I had a hard time finding this place. The entrance I went to is in the back in an alley, not facing the the highway. Art Queen is an awesome place. Cool sculptures and artwork. Definitely worth the stop. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the art is very affordable. Located close to gift shops and places to eat...this is a great intergalactic pit stop when exploring the Alpha Quadrant 🤘🏿👽🤘🏿 🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸🛸

Google
It’s a whole art collective space. Walk down the path and you will find a stage, interactive art, a gallery, a shop with second hand reprinted clothes, decorations and art works. The crochet museum is back there with an art garden also.Walk through another ally and there is a book shop and other shopping

Yelp
Love this place. If you like handmade crochet, you'll love this place, too. It's right next to the world famous crochet museum, for which the Art Queen is obviously the owner and curator. There are a couple crochet art pieces right outside, along with a table of crochet hats. Yes, I bought one. When you step inside, there's a hanging chair I took a selfie in. Barely made the weight limit. :). The artist's working studio is adjacent to the store. The Art Queen herself. It's quite the eclectic little store. She sells crochet tops, crochet animals, crochet hearts, crochet flowers, and well, you get the picture. Along with that hat, I also purchased a heart, bear face, and a couple flowers. All for $20! What a bargain. I'm surprised I was able to stop myself from buying more. In a trailer across the way, she sells new afghan blankets. Yes, new. Those are also reasonably priced.

Yelp
Art Queen, the iconic community public space in downtown Joshua Tree for music, art and local vendors, has been sold to a Los Angeles-based non-profit. The complex, which covers more than one acre on the south side of Twentynine Palms Highway, includes a number of storefronts and residences, and was listed for sale at just over $2 million dollars. The buyers - AHA Projects - say their mission statement focuses on providing support to artists and people working in creative fields. Their plan for Art Queen which they officially acquire this week is to preserve and enhance its vibrant arts and culture scene. I always bring my friends here to look at this art community after going through the Joshua Tree park.

Yelp
Fantastic collection of artists/art galleries! Highly recommended! Don't miss the World Famous Crochet Museum & Joe Alvarez Studio! Be sure to check out SunSpot & Coyote Little. Affordable art by local artists. Everyone is always friendly & helpful. Make sure you attend the Joshua Tree Art Walk on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 6-9pm!

Yelp
I just love stopping here at the art queen. They have a lot of collective cute stuff and just to walk around and look at. I did stop and get some sage and selenite mushroom. Prices are reasonable. We definitely have to stop again before we leave Joshua tree.

Yelp
Cute little shop with artistic creations that sits along side the crochet museum. A must stop when passing by if you like things that make the desert weird and unique.

Yelp
This was a good find! Cute little spot to see some installation art and snap cute pics of your friends. We bought shirts and stickers and the worker was so friendly telling us to take more pics, ha!
