My husband and I stayed at Art Resort Galleria Umberto for 10 nights at the end of October and beginning of November. We loved the hotel and our time there. The location was great, as was the size of our room. The staff was very professional and helpful, not only at the reception desk where Maurizio and Teresa were especially welcoming and helpful, but also in the breakfast room where Mariangela and Gianluca, with good nature, bent over backwards in providing an interesting selection of pastries, cheeses, granola and many other breakfast items (far more than a traditional Italian breakfast). They efficiently handled everyone's varying coffee orders but more importantly were really fun to talk and interact with. In addition, Natasha, the woman who cleaned our room was thorough, accommodating and respectful of our privacy. Our stay at the hotel greatly enhanced our overall experience in Naples.

Very disappointing stay. We are with a group and this was billed as a 4 star hotel. Not even close. First, the room (307) is noisy due to echo from the Galleria. And there seemed to be kids/youth playing soccer well passed 10p each night. Room described as sound proof-it is not. Avoid this room as it is directly underneath the breakfast area, and beginning at 6a there is so much noise. Chairs and tables being moved etc. There are no bathrobes as advertised. And shockingly no facial tissue. Our room has a leaky ceiling, which we pointed out. The maintenance man was to look into it. The tub/shower is very tired looking with ugly stained grout. In hindsite, we should have asked to be moved. The bed and pillows were fine. And the room is on the large size with incredibly high ceiling. Breakfast was fine with a very liarge selection of pastries, typical scrambled eggs and breakfast meats. Fruits, cheeses, cereals and so on. The funky elevator is just plain odd, only fits 3. We just used stairs. Hotel is in a great area with so many wonderful historical buildings, shops, cafes and restaurants around. If you stay here avoid the gallery side and certainly rm 307. We stayed at a couple of 4 star hotels in Florence just and Rome just prior which were exquisite. This one was so disappointing.

My husband and I recently spent 10 nights in this hotel and loved it - the location, the size of our room and the professional, friendly, and very helpful staff. At the front desk Maurizio and Teresa were especially helpful in answering our questions and making recommendations, when asked. In the breakfast room Mariangela and Gianluca bent over backwards to create a clean, welcoming environment, and in providing a varying selection of pastries, granola, yoghurt, eggs, meats and cheeses (more that I had expected for an Italian breakfast) and responding to the various requests for tea, coffee every morning. They were good natured and so much fun to speak with. In addition, Natasha, the woman who cleaned our room was thorough, responsive to our needs and very respectful of our privacy. Our stay here greatly enhanced our 10 days in Naples.

We picked this hotel for its unusual location and the good advertised amenities but it did not come anywhere near living up to our expectations.||The problems started with our arrival as we didn’t see any online information about how to get from the inside of the Galleria Umberto up to the hotel. It would be SO easy for the hotel to provide a written description and photos of the gate you have to find but they haven’t bothered to do that. Plus I could not find a WhatsApp phone number for them and as I only use an eSIM when I travel that’s the only way I could have phoned them to get info on how to find them. So we had to roam around the Galleria (packed on a Saturday) to find the gate. This was after we had hauled our luggage up the steps into the Galleria. We did not see a ramp and think the hotel should warn guests about this and, even better work with the Galleria to have a ramp installed (which is just a good, general disability access practice).||The access challenges didn’t end once we found the hotel. Once you are inside the gate on the main level of the Galleria you have to take an antique elevator up to the fourth floor. It was too small for both of us and our luggage so we went up one at a time. That took a long time as the elevator was painfully slow and there are businesses on other levels that also have people coming and going.||The hotel hands out a supply of 10 cent Euro coins at check-in as during the week you need one for each elevator ride. Thankfully we arrived on a Saturday when the coins were not needed. I have no idea how guests arriving midweek get up to the hotel as having a 10 cent Euro coin is unusual.||Given the snail like pace of the elevator we took the stairs down. There were 159 of them which was fine for us but for other guests this may be a challenge resulting in lots of long waits and slow elevator rides.||Our next problem was that what the hotel advertises is not what you get. I have a screen shot of their website showing the amenities listed when we booked and it clearly says they provide bathrobes but they do not. For many that might not be an issue but we only book hotels that provide bathrobes so not having them here was an issue. They did not seem to care about this service gap.||Breakfast started off okay but over the course of the 4 days we were there it went downhill dramatically. Every day there were fewer things and by the last day the cakes were limited to a few dried out slices of what had been full cakes the day we arrived, there were almost completely black bananas, the cheeses were getting dried out, the pastry options were smaller, and I could go on. It felt like they had a fresh supply of food when we arrived and did not get new things so over the course of our stay we were left with fewer options and things that were past their prime.||I thought the hotel had been renovated not too many years ago and that may have been the case for some areas but our bathroom had not been touched in many, many years. It was desperately in need of paint and there was too much black mould growing in parts of the shower. ||The good things were: the bed and pillows were comfortable and the internal window shutters did a good job of blocking out noise and light.

Great Location and staff was really nice and helpful. The room were clean and fresh. The only let down are the walls too thin so you can hear your next door guests a bit too much. Overall amazing place! Well done guys!

Great location!!! Right in the middle of the historic center of the city with many cafes, shops and restaurants right next door. The rooms were perfect and very clean and the staff extremely helpful. Breakfast is served to your room with whatever you ask for. Highly recommended.

The hotel itself was lovely! Nice clean rooms and friendly staff. The location was very difficult to find, especially late at night. The gate is just along from the McDonald’s (which the staff tried to direct us but still failed unfortunately) I will post photos for some help…..

Google
Location and rooms- spectacular! Loved the quirky styling and artwork. Only let down was Breakfast left a lot to be desired. VERY Minimal selection, all food at room temperature regardless of the type of food and not refilled frequently.

Yelp
Pros: the suite was huge, relatively quiet when the windows were closed (except for what I mentioned above), the bathroom was good size and the bed was comfortable. Cons: Weekend was unbearably noisy, the internet did not work unless standing by the door, there is no one at the reception at night (that we were aware of), the homeless are sleeping everywhere in the galleria, and there are areas you must pass to enter the hotel that smell like urine. The streets surrounding the hotel are insane in regard to the amount of people, cars and motorbikes. If we ever visit Naples again we will not stay at this hotel.

Yelp
One of the oddest hotels I've experienced. It calls itself a four star lodging but is better identified as 2 or 3. You need ten cents to activate the elevator to the hotels's entrance on the fourth floor of a huge galleria in a very busy central location. The young staff is very welcoming and utterly charming. The room has no exterior windows but fortunately there is an effective air conditioner. The bathroom is a disaster. The shower is tiny. The decor is a blend of rococo, backstage at the opera and 1950's regional Italy. I don't know how they get away with their advertised prices. No wonder they are non-refundable. A shrewd customer would flee in horror after the initial shock at the eccentricity.
