Unique hotel occupying top two floors of one wing of umberto gallery. Entrance from the shopping mall via a grill door and old fashioned lift ( 10 cents a time) up to reception. Everywhere decorated with "modern art". Large bedroom with balcony and views of naples, adequate bathroom etc. Small breakfast room but possibly cheaper and better alternatives in the gallery.|My only concern was apparent lack of fire or emergency exits. None of the usual information available in the room.

It’s right inside a beautiful shopping arcade called Galleria Umberto. The floors are being renovated, so there is noise all day. Our room was around the back, so no noise but the tiny balcony just looked over an unattractive atrium. The room is flamboyantly decorated, you’ll love it the moment you walk in. But our four poster bed was squeaky, the shower unpredictable and the bathroom itself just tiny. There’s nowhere to put your bag or toiletries. It is quaint though, and you forgive the shortcomings for its beauty. There is a bus stop and taxi rank right outside. We didn’t find the elevator an issue, the staff give you pocketfuls of €.10 coins.

Overall, my stay here was great. Fantastic, beautiful location, the rooms are wonderfully decorated, the service is fantastic, but knocking off 2 stars for a couple of issues 1. The breakfast. It’s from 7-10 and doesn’t come with the booking. This in itself isn’t an issue or out of the norm, the problem is that they set everything out at 7 and then just leave it at room temp for 3 hours. They don’t restock anything, and the food’s spare/not good to begin with, so you just end up with dried eggs. Not to mention, the food just isn’t good. One item was just charcuterie wrapped in kraft cheese. You’d best believe I spent the day sick to my stomach. 2. The amenities leave a lot to be desired. There aren’t any really to begin with, but the few they offer don’t really work. The power switch for the jets in my bathtub didn’t work. Not only did it not work, there were broken wires hanging from it. 3. The bathrooms. Barring the issue with the jets, the shower mostly just dribbles, and the bidet doesn’t drain unless you remove the plug with your bare hands. Neat! 4. My room was an internet dead zone. The WiFi worked only by the door. When they finally resolved the issue…it still didn’t work. That said, the staff are incredibly responsive. When there was something wrong they were on it. They were extremely respectful of my belongings while cleaning. They helped me get to know the area, and taught me some trips for taking transit responsibly. Additionally, even the least expensive rooms are absolutely MASSIVE with ornate decorations, and being above the Galleria gives it a bit of enviable charm. This definitely has the bones of a great hotel, and admittedly my complaints are pretty trivial, but for a hotel that offers very few amenities, the ones they do offer should be top notch.

Everything was great! Even got a room with a balcony which was not originally included. Also had a late checkout easily. Very hospitable place and nice rooms! Also the location was magnificent. I would definitely recommend this place for everyone!

Very pleasantly impresar with the quality of the hotel and the services. Many thanks to Franco for his involvement, for the kidness and attention with wich we were treated.

The hotel is in a perfect location. Be prepared to walk up several flights of surprise stairs or to take a tiny elevator up. The elevator costs 10 cent euros each time for most of the day, but the hotel will provide you with the coins. The process of checking in and out was confusing, and we weren’t offered help with our bags. My boyfriend got stuck in the elevator as a result on the way out. We had a beautiful suite with a giant bath tub but it took a long time to fill. Although the hotel was accommodating, they didn’t help us in the way I would’ve liked during a surprise taxi strike. We got into a bit of a sticky situation with a car service as a result.

This is in a very handy location. All the staff onsite were polite and helpful, thank you. There is a small lift that you can take up (fits 2 people). Cost is 10 euro during peak times, free during outside hours. There is a small office on the ground floor where you can ask for change (lift takes 10 euro coins only)

I stayed at this hotel and the one next to it (Matilde) so I feel compelled to write a review. This one is much worse in every way to the Matilde and it is a comparable price. Would highly recommend not booking here if you want something more for what you’re paying. The rooms are small, wifi is not good, the bed is stiff w/ small duvet, the pillows are very flat, and the water pressure is not great.

Yelp
Pros: the suite was huge, relatively quiet when the windows were closed (except for what I mentioned above), the bathroom was good size and the bed was comfortable. Cons: Weekend was unbearably noisy, the internet did not work unless standing by the door, there is no one at the reception at night (that we were aware of), the homeless are sleeping everywhere in the galleria, and there are areas you must pass to enter the hotel that smell like urine. The streets surrounding the hotel are insane in regard to the amount of people, cars and motorbikes. If we ever visit Naples again we will not stay at this hotel.

Yelp
One of the oddest hotels I've experienced. It calls itself a four star lodging but is better identified as 2 or 3. You need ten cents to activate the elevator to the hotels's entrance on the fourth floor of a huge galleria in a very busy central location. The young staff is very welcoming and utterly charming. The room has no exterior windows but fortunately there is an effective air conditioner. The bathroom is a disaster. The shower is tiny. The decor is a blend of rococo, backstage at the opera and 1950's regional Italy. I don't know how they get away with their advertised prices. No wonder they are non-refundable. A shrewd customer would flee in horror after the initial shock at the eccentricity.
