The most beautiful and complete accommodation I’ve ever stayed at. Located in the middle of the rainforest (with ocean view), stunning detail for design and an amazing crew. I highly recommend this place if you enjoy the sound of nature, great vibes, comfy beds, stunning sunsets and delicious breakfast.

Our favourite stay in Costa Rica! We stayed for four nights in Coco Pod 4 as part of our honeymoon. I had read the information about the place beforehand so knew what to expect in terms of glamping and no air con. It was really warm when we stayed. The fan did a good job. I appreciate Aircon wouldn't work in a coco pod due to the open nature of it. And it is the open nature of the pod that makes me love it. I loved our pod and found it to be private. I love the connection to the outside and jungle. It's really special. In the mornings I loved opening up the curtains/screens opposite the bed to watch the jungle wake up. On one morning we awoke to the sounds of howler monkeys. The place was beautiful. I loved every space. I loved watching the birds in the trees and toucans flying past. I miss the pool! Outside our pod was a net we could lie on and watch the stars - we saw shooting stars! Loved the trampoline for a bit of fun. From outside our pod and down at the "wing" we saw agoutis and a coati! We didn't even see these animals in our tours in the national parks! We also availed of massages which were phenomenal (you can pay by cash or PayPal). Breakfast was delicious. Shout out to the king of eggs! If you're near the dining area you will hear the staff preparing it from 6am. However I would say in Costa Rica we were awoken this time almost everywhere as this is when nature wakes you up! The staff were friendly and helpful. We were sent information in advance via WhatsApp. From talking to staff it would seem they love to work there and are treated well by their boss. I think this is an important aspect when choosing somewhere to stay. We needed a 4x4 to get there. However I note they were working on the road whilst we were there and as we left, the road was already better than when we arrived. (There's a great coffee shop at the end of the road. Best coffee in Costa Rica). Unpopular opinion maybe- I would put a ban on playing music. We were there to hear nature and not guests' terrible choice in music at the pool. 😂 In sum we really loved this place and were sad to leave. I would love to return with friends and try the Art Villa at the top.

I spent 4 nights at the Art Villas with a group of 15 people for my 40th birthday and it completely surpassed my expectations. The property is INCREDIBLE. The photos can't do it justice. We stayed in the Art Villa and 3 of the Coco Pods. The property is gorgeous and very thoughtfully designed. The staff was incredibly helpful in planning our stay and then making sure everything was perfect while we were there. I want to particularly thank Andrew, who was a true gem.

This place is situated in the mountains not far from the beach. The view is something out of a movie. The look and feel of the space is really nice! I truly enjoyed staying there. There is definitely a sense of peace that you can’t find elsewhere. Now it does have some noticeable “wear and tare” but that could be expected. And there are some things to be veryyyy mindful of: #1 Costa Rica’s biodiversity also means BUGS. If you are fearful of bugs, it will be hard for you to sleep. It’s not like they are crawling all around you, but there are some friendly critters. The bigger ones are easier and slower to get out (grasshoppers, larger very beautiful moths, etc). So at night I’d just make a quick round of clean up around the room, getting rid of the bugs out the door and keeping the light off as to not draw the attention of more bugs. The glass doors to the outside have large gaps so closing the door helps to some degree, but there’s still openings. We saw a small lizard come in twice and one time a bird definitely flew inside when we had the large back doors open. So be very mindful that your are indoors but outdoors :) #2 the drive — getting there is a piece of cake. I thought the 3.5 hour drive from The airport was going to be hard after a 5 hour flight. But the drive keeps you glued to the window. It’s definitely an experience and you catch some great views! Now once you make it to the villa, that’s a whole different ball game. You are going up a steep hill, so 4wheel drive is absolutely necessary. And not just that, if you don’t have a skilled driver making this trip, I’d suggest not driving yourself. Unless you park at the bottom and use their drivers to get up the hill, that could be an option (I did not inquire about this with management but I thought it be a good suggestion). We took one of the airport vans to the villa and going up and down was slightly nerve wrecking but fun too. But they have drivers as well to assist. These men have driven up and down that hill numerous times and have better skill to know that road. #3 the pods, villa and kitchen are pretty close together. Our first night staying in the villa we might’ve been slightly noisy (out of pure excitement and astonishment at being in this beautiful place) with that being said, the pods are very close to the villa, as is the pods to eachother. The kitchen is also right below so someone is bound to have some sort of noise concern. Even though we are all there for some peace, I also still can expect some noise here and there. So if you’re expecting complete 100% privacy, I would say maybe this isn’t the place for you. The villa is on its own floor and the level below it is the common shared space areas (gym) with stairs leading down to the pods and kitchen. #4 bring some extra food, snacks and drinks. If you are used to ubering to solve your hunger, this is not the place for that. I’d suggest making a store run for your stay. Other than those things to be mindful of, this place is awesome. I slept like a baby. Experienced amazing views. Enjoyed great company in an aesthetically appealing space. The art is beautiful. The energy there is exactly what I needed. You could get some really great photos too. And everyone is very nice and kind. The staff were truly pleasant.

the art villas are amazing, the views are awesome, breakfast is great, overall a great experience. the only other thing you need to know is that you need a 4 x 4 to get up there, but once you get up there, it’s a great experience

I would avoid this place at all costs. We paid a lot of money and couldn’t stay for day 2 and 3. Place is not clean, service is late, room wasn’t ready till another 2 hours from when we came. For that cost avoid and go get yourself more value for your money. Tents are open to nature! So you’ll have some random flying guests every now and then.

I don’t even know where to start with this hotel so I’ll list the pros and cons: Cons: -the road to the hotel is horrible. You definitely need a BIG 4x4. The little ones will still give you trouble making it up. -they do not have any lunch so if you go all the way up the hill and are excepting lunch you won’t get any. - their dinner menu is very limited and does not change daily. They also only have 2 options for vegetarians, nothing fish on the menu and no dessert. Also everything was overpriced. I paid $8 for a bottle of soda. -due to it being so high up in the mountain and in the jungle, it is infested with mosquitoes and other bugs that I never seen in my life. They spray the place down with bug spray but it doesn’t keep them away and you are left with smelling the fumes of bug spray all day and night. They also do not have a proper net on the bed for them. (Yes they have cockroaches and they do climb up in bed with you at night.) - it is by no means a luxury hotel, their service areas are pretty exposed. Pros: -it is very instagramable. The concept of the hotel is good but not well executed. - you are high up on the mountain so the sunsets are beautiful and it is very peaceful. - they have a nice gym and yoga studio -breakfast is pretty good. We stayed in Pod 3 and it was closest to the restaurant so the staff does make noise right at 6am. The pod are very close to each other too so you can hear other people. All in all, I would not stay at the hotel again and I hope this review helps other people make their decision.

My husband, baby daughter and I spent 2 nights at Art Villas end of last November. We had a really good time, this place is simply incredible, a big adult playground as well as a super restful place to recharge. We stayed in Coco pod 4 and saw Aras, monkeys and even Toucans right outside our room. The service was great, big up to Andrew who was a wonderful host. We really like the food and the breakfast options. A couple things to improve: When you are in Cocopod 1 or 4, you are against the restaurant and it can get pretty loud when the staff is setting up, especially in the morning. We would get woken up at 6am by the sound of staff chatting loud and moving plates around. That was a little bit of a bummer. The other thing was that one big cockroach that climbed on my husband's chest and on to my face while we were trying to fall asleep at night. So, you are in the jungle, so you have to expect to see insects, like spiders, scorpions, roaches. I gotta say, the rooms were actually super clean and we didnt have many visitors other than that one guy. It would go a really long way if mosquito nets were installed above the beds, cause no one wants that stuff crawling on them at night. Other than that, we had a really really great time, we would come back for one night if no mosquito nets, and many nights if mosquito nets were installed hehe. Thank you!
