"Since 2000, Artazart, an art-lover's institution on the Canal Saint-Martin has specialized in the graphic arts, photography, design, with books and ancillary goods. Its red-orange façade and compelling window displays draw in passersby, sure, but it's also a destination in its own right for books, artist and author events, and creative goods. A limited, signed edition of photographer Pentti Sammallahti's black-and-white book Les Oiseaux—shot on film—costs a cool 750 euros." - Lindsey Tramuta
"Iconic Art and Design Bookstore Behind the iconic orange-red facade you'll find a treasure-trove of art and design books, with a vast selection that covers photography, landscape architecture, fashion, graphic design, street art and much, much more. The shop also stocks whimsical design products, as well as Freitag bags. Book signings and exhibitions are regularly held."

One of my favorite bookstores when I'm in Paris. Full of art and design books as well as beautiful children's books. They also have books signed by artists, sell artist prints, magazines etc.
The selection is eclectic and creative, the place just lovely next to Canal Saint Martin. I always come here to buy presents for friends as well as books to inspire me.

Lovely little shop by the canal. Been coming for years, the service has always been friendly and super helpful. Many of their photography books are signed. Today I found a “nugget”, a book that’s long out of print and valuable, but they honored the sticker price even though they could’ve gotten much more for it. Merci Artazart!

Very cool bookstore!! Some most unconventional and artistic books I’ve seen around! Lots of books on graphic design & typography. As well as great photo books. Seems like the store really wants to support small artists!

Absolutely lovely shop! We visited several times on our short trip and are so thrilled to have discovered it. The books we bought are truly works of art and the illustrations we purchased are a lovely reminder of our trip.

Delightful bookstore with wide selection of graphic art, books and postcards specializing in illustrations. There is also artist work featured on rotating basis that adds to the experience. Books are primarily in French, with a few sprinkled in other languages. The book room in back is not to be missed and includes a small selection of second hand books in excellent condition. The children’s books are exceptionally well illustrated, abounding in vivid colors and rich imagery that captivate the mind and soul. Books with pop-up pages have a special place in my heart and this establishment offers a broad selection that prompted several smiles. Books are reasonably priced for the quality and premises are bright and clean. No moldy old books here! An hour went by quickly with several gifts collected for friends back home. I pray neighborhood bookstores never go out of style, and this one keeps the flame alive with innovation and imagination.

A very interesting book store with lots of books that are more on the artistic side (as the name might suggest). Most books were in French, but there were a few in English. Overall, it was an interesting experience.

Great book/artshop for those who are into illustrations. I, as an illustrator, collect kids books but here there were many illustrated books for adults as well; along with prints and other stuff. There are both French and English ones and the seller is very friendly too! Definitely recommended for all art lovers visiting Paris, and then you can have a small picnic near the canal :)

Yelp
Good vibes --
Very hip bookstore with a selection of magazines, books, travel guides, and etcetera. There were books in Japanese and English as well as photography books and children's books. I saw Lomo cameras at the front of the store. A lot of the décor is also for sale but I personally think that they are a bit expensive for what they're worth. Very pleasant to the eye and very friendly staff as well. It has a good Banksy collection too, for all the Banksy lovers!
If you're looking for inspiration and if the Canal Saint Martin isn't enough, definitely check this place out.

Yelp
This is a terrific specialized art bookstore that has a wide array of books on painting, photography, and a huge section on interior design and gardening/landscaping.
You can find books here that are difficult to find elsewhere and I think the selection is excellent. There are always interesting books. The last time I went, I was looking at the interior design and there were books on ecological interior design, use of colors and industrial decorating.
I love coming here during an afternoon at the Canal St. Martin (a hip and lesser known area). You can spend hours thumbing through these books. Lots of them are great coffee table books, with pictures and hard covers.
The prices are not cheap but they are not out of line for books in the area. I highly recommend stopping by if you are an art-lover or a lover of anything creative!
