A catastrophic experience with Artcurial’s shipping department and one person in particular.
I have worked with galleries, auction houses, and shipping contacts across the US, UK, and EU and never in my life have I encountered someone as unprofessional, slow, and utterly useless as Marine Viet, the so-called “Director of Shipping and Customs.”
Due to her negligence, lack of basic follow-through, and inability to coordinate even the simplest international art shipment, I was left with a high-value painting stuck in limbo. Zero urgency, zero responsibility, zero awareness. A stray dog in a New Jersey warehouse has more logistical competence than this person.
This is not just about poor communication, it's about institutional rot. Artcurial looks like a high-end French auction house on the outside, but inside it’s a bureaucratic corpse choking on its own arrogance and inefficiency.
Emails go unanswered for weeks. Questions are dodged. No timeline, no clarity, no leadership.
Avoid Artcurial at all costs especially if you're an international consignor. You’ll be on your own, with no help, no accountability, and no professionalism.
I deeply regret ever trusting them with my work.
