"Val Sella is a diminutive valley located in the the Valsugana region of Trentino. Peppered with tiny clusters of cottages and hotels but devoid of any substantial villages, it nevertheless contains one of the most intriguing art gardens in Italy. In 1986, local artists began exhibiting their artwork in the woods of Val Sella. Due to its success, the one-off exhibition turned into a biannual event. But it wasn’t until 1996 that the exhibition became permanent, with a trail called the Percorso Artenatura entirely devoted to leading visitors through the unique sylvan gallery. Presently, approximately 30 installations can be admired along the trail.  The underlying theme of Arte Sella is that all the exhibits are created using locally found materials—i.e. stones, leaves, logs, twigs, etc.  Some art pieces are even interwoven with live plants and trees, making them alive and ever-changing.  Art is, therefore, inserted and subjected to the living cycle of the surrounding environment.  Visiting this exhibition means taking in the mastery of the artists blended in with the beauty, sound and smell of the woods, making it a quintessential multisensory experience." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Well worth the drive up the mountain. Stop by the ticket area for 9 Euro. Eat at the little restaurant. Then take a walk around and see the art exhibition. Every interesting, and much worth it. 45 minutes walking, 2 hours for all the pictures

Edited because Google maps thinks my photos of sticks in the forest contain "explicit sеxuаI nature" 👀👀 My appeal was even declined by humans. So unfortunately I cannot post the moving grass video (an installation where a staff member is bouncing on a blop of grass), the tunnel of stone rings, the tunnel of sticks...😆 Interesting subconscious whoever is declining my innocent photos. The exposition in the forest - Arte Sella is a truly unique and immersive experience. The artworks are all created using natural materials and are designed to blend in with the surrounding forest. This creates a sense of wonder and magic, as you feel like you are walking through a living sculpture garden. There is an area with wooden tables where you can eat your sandwiches and rest on the wooden benches or if you didn't bring any food, there is a restaurant right next to them. I was particularly impressed by the way the artworks interacted with the natural environment. For example, one sculpture was made of branches and leaves that had been woven together to create a giant spiderweb. Another sculpture was made of rocks that had been arranged in the shape of a spiral. These artworks were not just beautiful to look at, but they also made me think about the interconnectedness of all living things. The exposition in the forest - Arte Sella is a must-see for anyone who loves art and nature. It is a truly magical place that will stay with you long after you have left. Here are some other things that I liked about the exposition: The peaceful and serene setting The opportunity to connect with nature The sense of awe and wonder that the artworks evoke The variety of artworks, from large-scale sculptures to small, intimate installations If you are looking for a unique and unforgettable art experience, I highly recommend visiting the exposition in the forest - Arte Sella.

Wonderful, relatively easy walk through the forest (although you'll still need good shoes). Moreover, it's a different experience for every season of the year, so it's worth re-visiting. The artworks are perfectly integrated in the landscape, sometimes with subtle effect, sometime stunning. Paths are easy enough to follow.

What a special place! Amazing art, quiet scenery and a perfect match of Alto Adige mountain vistas mixed with some contemporary art installations. A MUST SEE IN THE REGION!!!! You won’t regret going and never see another place like it in this world.

The most beautifull sculpture park I ever seen. The beauty of the nature combined with contemporary art. Four hours visit. Part of the exhibion is free of charge. But I strongly recomend to go even to the paid part and visit small local restaurant café by the entrance.
