We’ve been visiting Fuengirola for over 15 years now, and somehow we’d never come across this place before. Honestly, I’m not sure how Arte y Cocina isn’t already in the Michelin guide. It really deserves to be.
From the moment we walked in, everything just felt right. The team was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed but still felt special.
To start, we shared the burrata and the tuna tartare. Both dishes were packed with flavour, but still delicate. The tuna tartare was a real standout, served with charred avocado and pomegranate. It was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Just an incredible mix of freshness, depth, and balance.
For our mains, we went with two pastas: one with summer truffle, and the other with red prawn and squid ink. We’d been to the Amalfi Coast last year and had some amazing pasta there, so expectations were high - but somehow, this was even better. The squid ink pasta was super light, the sauce had a deep seafood richness to it, and the prawn tartare on top added a fresh, sweet kick that brought it all together beautifully.
After that, we tried the Koji beef fillet. Honestly, it just melted in the mouth. So tender and full of flavour. Every bite was a treat.
I couldn’t help myself and ended up ordering one more plate as everthing was so tasty, another starter - the steak tartare. It came with an egg yolk custard that was rich and creamy and just worked perfectly with the meat. Every dish we tried felt really well thought out and clearly made with care.
We finished with a Baileys tiramisu that was light, boozy, and had great texture from the biscuit layers. The perfect end to the meal.
We drank a rosé Prosecco with dinner, and the service throughout was spot on. It honestly felt like we were being looked after by our own private chef and host.
This was one of the best meals my wife and I have ever had. If you’re into food and visiting Fuengirola, do yourself a favour and book a table here. I’ll be thinking about that squid ink pasta until we’re back.
Thanks again for a fantastic evening
