Artemio’s Prime and Proper

My wife and I had a late lunch so no entries just (4) appetizers and each dish was specially presented and absolutely delicious. The drinks are outstanding, and the service was notable (not many people in the restaurant so early). Overall, one of the best NJ restaurants especially for this remote part of Passaic County. Was not cheap, but even the most mundane menus are expensive these days. Good value for the price. We finished off with an amazing looking and delicious marshmallow martini. We will be back when we are up there again!

My husband and I made reservations here for a belated Valentine's dinner and it did not disappoint. I got the Pear Fagotini, rainbow salad and the mushroom risotto. He ordered oysters on the half shell and the Wagyu steak. To finish the meal, I ordered the strawberry latte, which was also incredible. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. The staff is so friendly and attentive. I will absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fancy night out and delicious meal.

This has got to be one of the finest and best restaurants in NJ/NY area to visit. From the decor, service, specialty cocktails, and delicious food, this place is a winner. 5 stars does not do it justice. Specialty cuts of meats, fish, fine wines, you will be disappointed. Great for a nice evening out, special occasion, or just to try something different, give this place a try and you will be glad you did. I assure you that you will love the overall experience. I assure you that you will have a great experience and really enjoy this gem of a place. Food is amazing!

A Diamond in the rough! I say this as the surrounding setting makes this an unsuspecting establishment. It was one of the most difficult menus for me to choose from as everything read to be amazing!! I was grateful to be with newly met friends from the area. They happened to know the owner.... ( which made no difference as I watched the owner being attentive to all of the tables that others were seated at) Also, I would be disappointed to here that they weren't familiar here as it was kind of their " backyard". All of our appetizers were delicious ,and the aged parmesan cheese was to die for. I decided on the bone in Filet minion. It was perfectly cooked and served. The service couldn't have been better. I salute the owner Romeo for this spectacular resteraunt.

Our family went for Mother's Day, and the food was excellent & delicious 👌 Service was superb 👌 & the Atmosphere was elegant. Thank you for all you did to make it a special night for all of us.

5 stars and all earned stars . The place is very charming and well appointed. The attention to details it is easy noticeable. The interior design it is not cheap and it is there to complement your presence. The food is excellent and meticulously cooked and arranged. The service is excellent too, you don't need to look for your servant because they are always around you .

Stop in for an early dinner. The atmosphere is very elegant and welcoming. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The food came out quickly, and it was amazing, very flavorsome. Enjoyed the presentation on the cocktails. Would recommend

Food and service excellent. Ambiance in a shopping center not so great but not really why one goes to eat out. A special place to celebrate an occasion or to meet friends driving up from NJ as a half way point from Warwick.

A real classy joint. Top notch! Food is amazing and the service, second to none. Get the Bananas Foster desert! They might call it something else. Flambéed at your table. Oh Yeah!

Such an elegant place to dine. From the moment we arrived until we left, the service was outstanding, and everyone was so kind and so welcoming. It's quite the formal place but it also has a warm, relaxing feel to it. We decided to have steak for dinner, and it was such a beautiful cut of meat and cooked to perfection. The dessert was wonderful so creamy and rich tasting cheesecake. Even the coffee we had after dinner had a wonderful rich taste to it was just such a great place to go. It is on the pricey side but I think every once in a while you deserve to have an expensive meal. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Wow, was not expecting this in ringwood. The service is off the charts , not in your face. There when u expect them, never on top of you. Sent back a $350 bottle of champagne cause it was dead/flat. They didn't say boo, instead they sad "very sorry sir, is there something else you prefer" langoustines, were top ones I have ever had including @ Paul Bocuse. Serious kudos.

The service was phenomenal! All the staff was so attentive and personable. The food was also amazing, we ordered a bunch of apps and I got the sea bass for dinner, cooked perfectly and nice seasonings. For dessert, definitely try the gelato or the almond cake.

What a great restaurant. The owners sure know how to run an excellent restaurant. From appetizer to main course you are talking over the top quality,presentation and taste. This is a special occasion restaurant as it was my wife's birthday. We had a very tough week and visiting Artemis help make it a better week. We plan on doing this again on my wife's birthday next year, we live to that day. Thank you again for a great meal and night at your restaurant

Hosted an 80th birthday dinner for Mom on 6/2/24. Booked based on the great reviews I had seen online. Food was phenomenal. Service was top notch. Sasha was just so accommodating and made sure everything went as planned. You could tell there are many repeat customers as I watched Sasha greet diners warmly and with genuine affection. Highly recommend this restaurant to experience fine dining in a warm atmosphere. Will definitely go back!

This is an upscale, fine establishment with a romantic ambiance. The food, drink, and service were outstanding. The cocktails were perfectly mixed. We ordered the bone marrow, tri-color salad, the pear fagotini, and a NY strip steak. The pear fagotini is not to be missed!

This restaurant came highly recommended and was worth the drive to Greenwood Lake from Bay Ridge Brooklyn. This was one of the best restaurants I've been to outside of the top restaurants in Manhattan like Le Grenoille in Manhattan. Everything was perfect from the phone calls to make a reservation, the ambience, food, service, decor and cleanliness. The minute I walked in I knew it would be a great experience. We came here to celebrate a birthday and a few friends anniversary. I could not decide if the service or the food was better. The manager/server Alexandra was awesome. She made the experience great providing a history of the bottle wine we ordered. The wine was extremely fair in price compared to other restaurants. They have a full selection by the bottle or glass. There were several people assisting with serving, refilling our water and wine glasses and making sure our experience was a great one. The dining room is gorgeous with two wine walls and a fire place centered between them. The restaurant is SPOTLESS!! The bathrooms have beautiful white tile from walls to floors and were clean, bright and smelled great. The bar was really cozy as well. We were not limited on time like many restaurants have these days. You could truly dine at your own pace. We started with a few appetizers that could not be better. We had the shrimp cocktail which you can select the number of shrimp you want, scallops and the lobster bisque soup. The appetizers are a little pricey although we'll worth it. The presentation of all their food is outstanding. The entrees were awesome and very fairly priced. We had the steak, pork chops parmesan over home made pasta. Both of us who ordered the pork chops had to take home doggy bags as the portions were huge! We also had the steak and rack of lamb. The deserts were awesome and any one on the menu would have been a favorite. We selected the toasted almond cake special, banana and chocolate brownie, and tiramisu. Could not have had a better time, all of the wait staff were fantastic!!! They made us feel special. Will definitely be back again. I highly recommend them for a fantastic dining experience. I could not find a flaw in service, decor, food or presentation. I would highly recommend them and the definitely earned a 5 star rating.

We had a fabulous dining experience last night. Drinks were some of the best I've had; my partner enjoyed his martini, Negroni, and carajillo - I stuck with their take on an old fashioned and it was one of the best I've had!! I highly recommend enjoying a mixed drink while dining at Artemio's, they even have a proper bar for you to enjoy a pre dinner beverage. Food was fabulous from the first to last bite. We started with oysters and a salad to split, followed by a lemon sorbeto palette cleanser, then our main entrées. He had the Johndory while I the tuna. Both fish dishes were cooked to perfection as were their accompanying sides. I don't know how we have never heard of Artemio's but we will be telling our friends and families of this hidden gem nestled in Ringwood. 10/10 I can't wait to go back!

I really wish I could have loved this place as much as everyone else. I actually think I'm being generous with my rating since my stomach was upset for days after eating here. The atmosphere is old school Italian I'd say. Something my mother likes not a fresh take for younger people. I appreciate a good fireplace though because I'm always cold. Service was ok. We didn't know who was really waiting on us. For dinner I had salmon. It was under cooked to me and strong taste. The desserts were something chocolate and something lemon. Lemon was good but really nothing stood out. Especially with the prices and my experience I wouldn't return.

Always amazing here!! Went with their veal scallopine this time and just wow - flavor bomb. Always fresh ingredients and high quality here. Can't wait to go back!

From the moment I walked in to this restaurant I was so excited! The beautiful decor and ambience was just so uplifting. The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely sublime.

Went with a group of six on a Friday night in November 2023. We had reservations. The service was fantastic, the food was great, and we all enjoyed the wine and cocktails. Do not be fooled by the look of this place on the outside - when you get inside, it is very elegant and spacious. This was really a five star type of restaurant. While the prices are a bit high, it was honestly one of the best steaks I've ever had - I had the ribeye. It was cooked to perfection. Great for a special occasion. We hope to be back.

Excellent service and food. We had a wonderful meal on Thanksgiving and once prior. We look forward to returning and recommend for others. While a bit pricey, the value is in quality, service and experience.

Upscale dining in a beautifully set atmosphere. Staff is wonderful and always willing to accommodate. The food itself is always great. Consistently fresh and cooked appropriately. You'll pay NYC prices but this isn't exactly your average restaurant like so many others around town. A+!!

First of all, the food is overpriced given the portion size, taste and location. For this type of price, it would require better service as we found the servers to be pretentious and stiff. I am baffled that they would charge nyc high end restaurant prices and not have anything complimentary when drinks or desserts are considered. We were disappointed and do not plan on returning which is a shame because many of our friends appreciate fine dining.

I'm not surprised that this visit to Artemios was as good , if not better than all the previous. From the minute we walk in, Sasha is there with a warm smile and gracious hospitality. Ambiance is still sophisticated and elegant. The food was excellent as noted by moments of silence as we took the time to savor our food in lieu of speaking. Appetizers: Gnocchi in a truffle cream sauce Tuna tartare Burrata Entrees: Filet mignon John Dory Chilean Sea Bass Ahi Tuna Steak Steak Chicken a la France Artemios wows on every visit. The food and service are top notch. I wish they were closer. A true gem in Ringwood.

Excellent dinner at this neighborhood gem. Started off with truffle gnocchi which was not as light and fluffy as I would have liked but the sauce was nice. The rosemary crusted lamb chops were amazing as were the John Dory L'Orange and filet mignon. Nice merlot to pair. Finished with the key lime mousse and tartufo both eccentric. Attentive staff and romantic atmosphere.

Went here for our anniversary and I will say that it's probably one of the better steaks I've ever had. It is quite pricey, but it it is an upscale restaurant and you do get what you pay for here.

Probably the best restaurant I have been to within the last year. Order the veal parm if it is a special - yes, you can get veal parm at most Italian restaurants but not a cut this tender. Half the tables at the restaurant ordered the veal parm and I am glad I followed their lead. The restaurant is a little out of the way but definitely worth the drive. Everything we had was excellent, and I cannot wait to go back again.

What a gem. Food is amazing and the decor is lovely. A great place for a special occasion or a nice night out. The bar has a good selection to choose from and the staff are very nice, the owner is always onsite and willing to make dishes however you like it. High end restaurant. Dress accordingly. Carbonara is one on the best I ever had!

Words cannot truly express the amazing dinner and evening we had celebrating my husbands birthday. The staff was incredibly attentive and truly made it a very special evening. From the Champagne to the king crab and jumbo shrimp appetizer to the filet mignon that melted in your mouth. Thank you for a great dinner. Highly recommend.

Wow. I rarely give review good or bad, but must say that my wife and I were blown away this evening. Not my first time here, but can't remember if our experience was this stellar. Great steak, salmon, and fresh shellfish. Will be back again soon.

Excellent from start to finish! We sat outside in the beautifully decorated tent. We ordered the escargot - two per shell! The watermelon salad was delicious. My wife had the salmon and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. Both were perfect. We ended with the cappuccino gelato. Oh, and the grapefruit martini my wife had was great! Service, food, ambience - highly recommended!

AMAZING!!! We went for the very first time after recently moving to the area. This place is phenomenal! Very quaint and cozy. Food is absolutely DELICIOUS and to say the service is beyond 5 Star quality, would be understatement. Our hostess/server Sasha, was not only pleasant and charismatic, but also very knowledgeable when it came to the menu as well as the wine pairing. The porterhouse for two is a must! (As is the shrimp and crabmeat appetizer). Can't wait to try the lobster tail next visit. Bon appétit.!

The food is incredible here! It's really on an extremely high level - comparable to the finest Italian restaurants I've eaten at in NYC and Italy. But, be prepared. It's not cheap. I guess the old adage "you get what you pay for" applies here. Since, the remake from Arta's, the food has been absolutely spectacular (with no exceptions). They also have a lovely outdoor dining space (weather permitting). Highly recommended!

Still absolutely wonderful !! Tried some new delicious items. Fried artichoke hearts are just amazing !! Kids split tuna, husband had tomahawk veal chop, i enjoyed the frieze salad!! So happy

I've been to many many steakhouses and this one is by far one of the best! I came with a party of 8 for my birthday and everyone's dish was just unbelievable. You can just tell the meat is of incredible quality and the way it is prepared is just unmatched. With each main dish came some sides. The mashed potatoes still have me drooling as well as the roasted garlic. On top of that, the shrimp cocktail we ordered were hands down the largest and best shrimp we've ever had in our lives. I have nothing negative to say whatsoever. I'd also like to include the great service and staff at this restaurant. They're so knowledgeable and professional, yet friendly and inviting. I am SO excited to come back soon!

Took mom here for her birthday last month and she's still raving about the puréed mushroom soup. Definitely a memorable dinner and hope to be back again!

This place is one of the best restaurants in the entire tri-state area. I eat at "many" high end restaurants weekly. If this restaurant was in NYC or upper Bergen County the owner would be a multi-millionaire with a reservation waiting list for months. Food is top notch and the service is absolutely incredible. Sasha the bartender knows wine like nobody else in the business and the entire staff is absolutely incredible with the service. There is absolutely nothing else to say about this place but it's absolutely incredible.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Artemios Prime last night. This was our 3rd visit to this magnificent restaurant. Start by saying 3 times is a charm and it was indeed a charm. We had the escargot, clams casino ,and brie cheese in puff pastry to start. All were awesome,flavor town. Sasha and her team took excellent care of us. Our main courses were the Tomahawk Veal chop and Chicken Rolitini. Outstanding!. We were there to celebrate my wife's 56th birthday and Sasha overheard us talking about it. So after dinner,to our delight, She and her team brought out a panna cotta with fresh creme and sang happy birthday to my wife. Very class act. Thank you Sasha. We loved our dinner last night and will return soon. Here are a few pics.

Dining single is something I've grown comfortable with. However, a dinner date with another foodie is always a welcome thing Thank you Mr. Romeo and your team at @artemiosprimeandproper for always making me feel welcome. Always serving the finest quality food and beverages. You can't go wrong with the soups, chowders, salads, choice aged steaks, fresh seafood and poultry dishes.

So my best friend and I get together at least once a year now a days for guys dinner and drinks. Back in the day we were two dudes running amuck on the LIE. Punk rock shows and hangovers. Clubbing till dawn. Now we're two dudes talking finances and retirement plans. For over 20 years it's been one amazing night after another. Tonight was gonna be just another night of great conversation, great food and always great wine. We agreed on staying local. We threw out some spots. He ends up choosing in Ringwood. It's a solid hour drive. No problem. I'll drive to Naples, FL if I have to!! Three facts we've learned throughout the years hanging together. Nothing's guaranteed, you will have an amazing time and everybody's safe. Anyway, he recommends Artemio's Prime and Proper. So I check out the website because I...for some reason have no idea why I have never heard of this place. In typical fashion I'm expecting some of the usual but no running amuck. Perfection from the minute you walk in until you leave. I recommend having a drink at the bar to start the night. Super cozy and top shelf starts on the bottom. The dining rooms are side by side with a beautiful wine display. Beautiful decor. Outstanding service. This place screams eat and drink local with elegance. I think this might be the finest dining in the state of NJ. Good chance I'm not the first to say that. Enough said.

It was a beautiful birthday dinner. The staff was excellent and ToTo was very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Everything we had was excellent. We also had the shrimp cocktail and the seafood soup. It was all amazing! Would definitely recommend. We will be back. Thank you for making my birthday so special.

Amazing place with even more amazing food. Unfortunate that we had to sit at a table next to a couple watching TV on their phones out loud which was a huge annoyance. Definitely one of the best places I've ever eaten before. We would definitely go again.

Pluses: the food was good, the service was super. Minuses: the prices were on the high side, but what was not ok was that each bottle of water which was $10 per bottle was brought to the table OPEN, with no cup on. That makes me believe they were just refilled with filtered water. Not a nice move. The wine I ordered from the menu was switched to another make, which I agreed to, but the price was 50% more than the price on the drink menu. So why have a drink menu if items are substituted? For that reasons, we would not come back.

Simply put... perfect from start to finish. Always fresh and top notch. Absolutely lovely.

Well.... I've eaten all over the world and have to admit the service was excellent and the food was very good. Can not justify their prices though. They are too high in my personal opinion. Do recommend if you do not mind over paying. Granted, no doubt the best in that area.

Celebrated my sister's birthday here and everything was perfect! We were given complimentary butternut squash soup, which was DELICIOUS. I ordered a bowl as an appetizer and still can't stop thinking about it. We ordered some other appetizers- all amazing. For main courses, I ordered branzino fillet (amazing), and the rest of the party ordered steaks. They couldn't stop talking about their meals. The waiters and waitresses were amazing!!! They made our experience that much better.
