How to Plan a Trip to Greece on a Budget

"A beachfront hotel on Milos that, though a bit of a splurge compared with other local options, offers strong value for a treat-yourself stay: it sits directly on the sand and hosts one of the island’s hottest beach bars." - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists. The Artemis beachside resort is simply stunning and the service is excellent. My family and I traveled from the states and we were certainly not disappointed with this resort. ||From the minute you arrive until your departure, you feel pampered and well taken care of. The welcome drink, and your bags being delivered to your room quickly are refreshing after a long ferry jet. The rooms are thoughtfully and spaciously laid out with minimalistic decorations. The outdoor patio is cute and well done. The breakfast buffet is excellent with everything you could possibly care to eat. The pool area is beautiful overlooking the sea, and the loungy beach chairs are comfy and relaxing. Artemis’s beach bar restaurant is casual with multiple dishes available and their main restaurant, Root has some delicious offerings which we enjoyed.||I have nothing but great memories from staying at this resort and I would highly recommend.

Location is on a beautiful beach and staff super helpful and nice. Rooms were always clean and left us bottles of wine for our honeymoon. If you want to get around the island must have a rental car but everything is max 20 minutes away and finding parking is easy.

Artemis Seaside Resort is absolutely stunning! The view is breathtaking, with an infinity pool overlooking the sea, comfortable lounge chairs, and bean bags by the pool plus direct access to the beachfront. The breakfast is excellent, with a wide variety of choices: meats, pastries, fresh fruits, juices, and more. The atmosphere is relaxing and elegant ..truly the perfect getaway. Highly recommend!

We were staying at a hotel across the street and decided to move to the Artemis for our last two nights, and we are SO happy we did. Very comfortable rooms, amazing staff, and a great beach club! Note that staying there does not guarantee beach club seating since they do sell to the public, so just be sure get your complimentary seats by getting them before you enjoy your complimentary breakfast! Lunch and dinner in theRoot restaurant are a MUST, I could not get enough of the deconstructed pastitsio and the moussaka.

I stayed here with my family in late May and really liked the hotel. The atmosphere was great — loved the pool and beach setup. If you’re staying at the hotel, you don’t need any reservations for the beach chairs which I appreciated. The rooms were awesome and had cute balconies. The breakfast was good as there were good pastries and an omelet station. The lunch and dinner menu / food, however, were not good. They would not make modifications to the food and it honestly didn’t taste good. I would recommend staying at the hotel but not eating there for lunch / dinner.

We loved our stay here, so much we even extended by a day! The transfer to/from the port, easy car rental, extreme helpfulness of the staff were really good touches.||The rooms were very nice and quite spacious. We had a balcony with a 'hot tub' that wasn't hot, but given the outside temps I'm glad it wasn't. The location is nice as it's right on the beach, however it's a bit far from the other main areas on the island. Granted, Milos isn't very big so everything is within a 25 minute drive at most. Being able to rent the beach chairs for free was nice and convenient, and although they were a little pricy, the food and drinks from the beach bar were good. Breakfast at the restaurant was typical buffet style with a ton of different choices so you could go any way you wanted to start the morning.||Everyone was super nice and helpful, 5*, would definitely stay here again!

The location of this hotel is very secluded and far from everything. At night, driving back is difficult, and without a rental car you’re basically stuck — taxis cost at least €40 one way. I rented a car for just one day, drove for less than an hour in total, and still got charged an extra €20 for gas, even though the gauge barely moved. The hotel staff (not including the beach staff specifically the staff at breakfast and concierge) seemed uninterested in the guests and gave off the impression that they were fed up with working there, which created an awkward and unwelcoming atmosphere. On the positive side, the beach is within walking distance, and the hotel provides free beach beds with good music. The rooms themselves were decent, but overall the negatives outweighed the positives for me.

We loved our stay at Artemis. The plunge pool connected to the room was beautiful and room was high quality. The pool was cleaned daily and you can tell they pay attention to detail. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning and found it had a good amount of options. The beach club makes it easy to take in the beauty of the sea while being comfortable in a beach bed that you don’t have to pay for. The restaurant prices were a bit steep so we stayed away from it. Those staying should know that this is on the other side of the island from most stores and taverns, so having a rental car is a must. We would definitely stay here again!
