The ArtHotel is in a great location in Heidelberg with easy walking to everything. The hotel is older but very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was very good. We had a few concerns that should be noted by travellers. The air conditioning was turned off during our visit as it was deemed to be heating season but it was 20C with high humidity from a rain. We opened the windows but it was really humid. The pillows provided are terrible and we did not have a good night's rest due to how thin they are. Our room had a large beam in it that served as a hazard when getting out of bed. We needed to keep a light on during the night to prevent a concussion. The staff were helpful and the parking is great.

We are so glad we choose this hotel it was excellent. All the staff are professional and really friendly from the lady receptionist to the guy cleaning rooms to the guy we met at breakfast who seemed to be the manager. Nothing was too much trouble for them.|The room was immaculate with comfortable beds. We were unsure about booking the breakfast but were so glad we did. There was a great range of food and the omelettes cooked to order were delicious. The parking and central location were great. We couldn’t fault it. It isn’t cheap but we felt it was worth it.

The hotel is a wonderful stay that we’d happily use in the future. The staff is kind and courteous, the location is very central and next to all of the main attractions (altbrücke, Philosophen Weg, Heidelberg schloss, etc), and the rooms are very comfortable. The hotel also has breakfast, a bar, and parking which makes it even more convenient. The price is more than fair.

A real oasis amid pleasantly-busy travels! The staff (with a particular nod to Jeremy!) make for a warm welcome and the feeling of everything you need being on-hand. Extremely comfortable rooms and phenomenal location to everything you may want to see in Heidelberg. Great view too & nice bathtub - although, some variable water temps depending on demand/timing.

I had a medical appointment in Heidelberg. My wife and I went back and forth on whether or not we should spend the night or drive back to Stuttgart. We knew the Heidelberg Christmas Market was going on, but I was also dealing with some back pain. We looked into booking at the Art Hotel beforehand, but opted to play it by ear. After the appointment, I was feeling better so we drove to the hotel to see if there was any room in the inn. The gentleman behind the counter told us that there was only one room left. He also said that it was the biggest and best room in the hotel. I actually looked at this room beforehand and was wowed by it. Felix said that because they would rather sell the room than let it go empty, we could get it at a very special price. Sold was my immediate answer. Felix took us up to the room and explained everything. We were very impressed. So much so that we ordered a bottle of wine to be sent up to the room. We relaxed and enjoyed this special blessing. We later enjoyed the market, but came back early to enjoy a lovely evening. The breakfast the next morning was very good, but I have been to much better ones. Nonetheless, this one night here was magical. They offer affordable indoor, secure parking. They also have an outdoor deck which must be enjoyable during the warmer months. The service was great, but I really do commend Felix for his outstanding professionalism and kindness. The Art Hotel is a must and ideally located for any visit to Heidelberg!

The location is great, and the room we had (111) was nice and spacious.||However, the service was somewhat mixed. When we arrived (after a long flight), we were told that the room would not be available after 3 pm; we could understand that, but the guy at the reception was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. In addition, we had to ask for our room to be cleaned, and one of the nights we could smell a smoke in the room after that.||All the other personnel were very nice and helpful, especially the breakfast team.||The hotel has a great potential, but some of the staff should be more professional.

This hotel is excellently situated about two blocks from the main street. This keeps you isolated from, but close to all the tourist activities. We stayed in the loft of which I believe there is only one. It was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Service at the hotel was excellent, particularly Pedro in the restaurant who helped us with advice and suggestions. ||My only issue was that there was rarely anyone at the front desk so if you needed something you had to track someone down.

Booked very last minute via the hotel website. We took a taxi from the main train station which was took roughly 10 minutes and cost €15.||The hotel is located back from the main tourist area but only 5 minutes walk so it’s peaceful yet not too far from bars/restaurants and tourist things to do.||The hotel is set within a traditional building with lovely details such as the roof and windows. Our room (223) was on the top floor, it has access to a roof terrace with tables and chairs and overlooks the nearby historic buildings. Our room was modern and spacious with crisp white linen bedding and lots of storage. The biggest plus for this hotel was the air con, temperatures were hitting 33 whilst we were there so this was great. ||We ate breakfast once, there was lots of seating and enough to get you going in the morning. We are not big breakfast people.||We loved our time at the Arthotel and would certainly return if in the area again. I’d recommend booking direct as some of the comparison websites were charging more.||Big mention to Katharina who welcomed us and assisted us with some questions about the local area, she was very warm and helpful.

Yelp
We enjoyed 2 nights here. It is centrally located to Old Town and right next to part of Heidelberg University. The room is modern and comfortable - the bed is on the firm side but not too firm. The bathroom is awesome and has an incredible shower head. The only negative is no refrigerator in the room. The staff are very nice and accommodated any request. Much gratitude to Felix and Philip for making our stay so wonderful!

Yelp
Stayed here for the first time last month and it was just perfect. The place itself is just a beautiful hotel and the rooms are a nice size and great size bathrooms. It has a great courtyard to sit and eat/drink. The staff is so nice and helpful. It is just a two minute walk to the Uni Platz or the Main Street and a five minute walk to the berg bahn. Will stay here again on our next visit to Heidelberg.

Yelp
We stayed here for the second time just last month. Our first visit was for four days, this recent visit was nine. I really love this hotel. There are several things that bothered me about it but I would still go back. The first problem was the hair dryer. It was so weak that it wasted a lot of my time. Also, my hair was horrible. Drying my hair with the hair dryer in the room produced almost the same result as letting my hair air dry. Also, the shampoo was very drying. They also supplied no conditioner. One morning we went to have breakfast downstairs in the Romer restaurant and the food was exposed to the air and there were little flies feasting on the food. Gross. I ate somewhere else. But I'm not sure if that reflects on the hotel or not. Another thing that was a real problem was that instead of full sized bed, they had two twin beds pushed together. I don't think I need to detail the issues with that. So, if I've had all these problems and still would stay there again, then you know it has to be a great little hotel. The location is perfect. Just close enough to walk easily to all the best shopping and dining. The staff is friendly. The rooms are gorgeous and very clean. Just remember to bring your own hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner. And ask for a room with a real bed!
