"Only a few hotels so close to the old city offer underground parking, and this is one of them. A lovely hotel that successfully combines the old and the new. Its guestrooms offer contemporary design and the latest technology. The modern, clean-lined style is continued in the restaurant. Charming courtyard terrace." - Tablet Hotels
I am simply shocked at the high ratings people have given this hotel. It would be ok if they charged half as much but at the price we paid it was very poor value. We decided to splurge on this hotel expecting it to be much nicer than it is. It was twice the price of every other accommodation we stayed in during our tour of Germany and it was not half as nice. |The bed is ok but the room is very basic. There is no mini bar or even a fridge. No pictures or even anywhere to put your suitcase. Amenities are one bottle of water, soap and shampoo. The reception is the bar which is also basic. I never saw anyone actually drink in there. The service was not friendly nor accommodating. I was so glad when our stay was over.

We stayed in this hotel while we travelled to Netherlands. The room was very stylish and everything worked great. Everything was clean and shiny. The service was friendly and efficient. They have a parking lot and you can charge your EV. Our dog was welcome too.

My room was to die for. Very large, beautifully designed and furnished, high quality bed, seating area, very large bathroom, temperature controlled areas. Couldn't fault it although the toiletries were a bit small and no bathroom. Breakfast goodish, attentive staff, especially Tom, - efficient, personable. What is missing ? "Art"hotel has nor art beyond cheap prints on the walls.

Close proximity to Christmas markets. Fantastic service. Rooms were excellent and clean. Small gripe is that they do not have a kettle in the room. Otherwise a perfect hotel.

Beautiful hotel with very large rooms! Loved the decor in the hotel and the rooms - wonderful mix of old and new. It was very quiet at night, even with the windows opened. We enjoyed the breakfast very much and also the location that allowed us to walk to dinner in the evening but be out and about in the day by car.

Service was top notch. They seem train the staff to care more about the customer. For example, on St. Nickolas, we awoke to a chocolate just outside our door.
Location is amazing, and particularly for Christmas Markets.
Room temperature control took a bit to figure out as the bathroom kept overheating the main room. A minor inconvenience once we learned what was happening. Pillow wasn't the best nor the worst.

The front of house staff were very good. My room, whilst very big lacked any comfortable seating. One 'bucket' style chair but nothing one could relax in. The 'goodies' in the bathroom are a bit sparse and not replaced daily alongside having to request a robe which was not in the room. Great location for old town. The breakfast was, for me, as a gluten free veggie also a bit on the poor side. Hardly any fruit, no lactose free or vegan yogurts or milk, no GF cereal. They provide two GF rolls (not great quality). For a short business trip it was fine but not sure for anything else (for me)

this is a fabulous location for this city. The hotel is really modern and unique. Everything you need is updated in a historical looking building. We have the XXL which is one of their larger rooms, which I highly recommend the bed was very comfortable. All my needs were met if I needed something I called and they brought it up to me. We never got to use the rooftop because the weather wasn’t that kind of weather to sit out and enjoy it, but it looks very comfortable. they have a restaurant for dinner, but unfortunately they’re closed for the month of August I have a nice area off of the reception area, where you can sit outside a small area and a bar if you need a drink which we did not participate in Breakfast was ok All the basics were there and they will make you eggs if you ask
We had a good view from one our window there are steps to walk up if you’re taking one of the rooms that are the XXL room an elevator to the second floor and then steep steps up to your room which ours was on the third floor
There was a young lady the first night we arrived, who was lovely when I asked for some suggestions for some restaurant she gave me too, and actually, I went to both of them and enjoyed them very much. This is the location of choice for the city. For the location alone.

Yelp
We enjoyed 2 nights here. It is centrally located to Old Town and right next to part of Heidelberg University. The room is modern and comfortable - the bed is on the firm side but not too firm. The bathroom is awesome and has an incredible shower head. The only negative is no refrigerator in the room. The staff are very nice and accommodated any request.
Much gratitude to Felix and Philip for making our stay so wonderful!

Yelp
Stayed here for the first time last month and it was just perfect. The place itself is just a beautiful hotel and the rooms are a nice size and great size bathrooms. It has a great courtyard to sit and eat/drink. The staff is so nice and helpful. It is just a two minute walk to the Uni Platz or the Main Street and a five minute walk to the berg bahn. Will stay here again on our next visit to Heidelberg.

Yelp
We stayed here for the second time just last month. Our first visit was for four days, this recent visit was nine.
I really love this hotel. There are several things that bothered me about it but I would still go back.
The first problem was the hair dryer. It was so weak that it wasted a lot of my time. Also, my hair was horrible. Drying my hair with the hair dryer in the room produced almost the same result as letting my hair air dry.
Also, the shampoo was very drying. They also supplied no conditioner.
One morning we went to have breakfast downstairs in the Romer restaurant and the food was exposed to the air and there were little flies feasting on the food. Gross. I ate somewhere else. But I'm not sure if that reflects on the hotel or not.
Another thing that was a real problem was that instead of full sized bed, they had two twin beds pushed together. I don't think I need to detail the issues with that.
So, if I've had all these problems and still would stay there again, then you know it has to be a great little hotel. The location is perfect. Just close enough to walk easily to all the best shopping and dining. The staff is friendly. The rooms are gorgeous and very clean.
Just remember to bring your own hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner. And ask for a room with a real bed!
