Great source of information about hikes of all levels of difficulty. Turns out half the staff are volunteer firefighters too having watched them turn out yesterday. There are also some souvenirs and clothing for sale. Don't forget to buy your hut passes too!

All credit to DOC, with the limited budget they provide good facilities, tracks and staff. I stayed at campsite so used kitchen, toilet, power. The toilet facilities in carpark are clean and tidy. The number of people/ cars, suggest high demand. There are plenty of short walks which can be done.

Very helpful! Staff had good information about hiking in the area. The gift shop is pretty good, and there are interesting exhibits to check out. Can't thank the staff enough for the good info!

A nice place for a short break. The staff are friendly, and they provide tons of information about activities to do around Arthur's Pass National Park. There is plenty of parking in the area, and toilets are also available for free. See pictures and videos for details.

The team had absolutely excellent knowledge for us and others who were planning a long walk. Absolutely recommend talking to the team before heading out. They spoke about the places to walk/stay and places to not walk/stay. And also what places were good at the time of the year and for rainy conditions we had.

The Arthur's Pass National Park Visitor Centre is on State Highway 73 near the east end of the village. Opening hours are 8am to 5pm and there is a large carpark and public toilets available. A stop at the Visitor Centre is a good opportunity to pick up information on trail and road conditions, local weather conditions and any other information needed to support your visit to the Arthur's Pass area. You will also find an expected range of souvenirs and gifts here. There is an historic Cobb & Co stage coach and other interesting displays that make for a good way to spend 15-20 minutes. Lastly, there is a film you can watch regarding the history of Arthur's Pass. I believe the fee was NZ$2 per person for them to run the film.

Arthus pass is breathtaking! I actually cried when we stopped at the Viaduct lookout! Such a beautiful place 😍
