Love the experience. I came alone just to try out their guided art jam session. Everyone in the class seems to know one another lol, some came with their friends, others are probably long time students, etc. It was my first time going for such an activity. I didn't have any experience in painting whatsoever haha, just wanted to try something different. The instructor was quick and very clear in her direction to create the artwork. I was left to do the artwork alone, and I truly like how I have my own space to work on the art, no pressure. (it's not like a tutor will sit beside you while you draw, lol). I got lost sometimes when I completed certain steps in the artwork and had to wait for the instructor because one instructor jumps around several students, but that's alright for me. Canvas and Paints were provided, including what colour to use etc, so that's worth the money. I was asked to choose a reference to follow in creating the artwork. Each reference requires different kinds of technique (lol didn't know that at first), I ended up creating the artwork using a sponge to make the background effect, which was cool. The whole session was 2hr 30mins but I exceeded slightly more than that, haha. Thankfully we're not forced to stop working lol. I definitely recommend coming to try some art painting, and it is always good to ask how the artwork is created first before deciding what to paint so you get the rough idea of the painting process (and challenges), and also ask what canvas size is available before you start (I was given the largest one lol). I got to bring back my artwork but now I have no idea where to put it, haha. One advice for first timer, pls wear socks or use their slippers, no shoes allowed lol - I didn't know that.
