Artisan Cafe.

We ordered eggs on toast, shashuka eggs, mince on toast. Scrambled eggs. Tbh, not the best experience the eggs are a bit runny and soggy. My friend ordered shashuka. She said it’s 👍 with good seasoning. Also, mince on toast is well-seasoned with a nice depth of flavor. It hit the comfort food spot, but it was a bit too oily. Overall, the food are decent and I would recommend to visit.

We enjoyed hearty, tasty food here and came back twice as the coffee and breakfast was so good. The Mini Beni was just perfect.

Food as very well presented and very flavorful... Vegan meals and options were great. We had the vege stack and it was AMAZING our 4yr and 1yr old smashed them and I had to order another for me! Chicken burger and Mince on toast was also yum! Coffee and food came out fast and the service was great. Serving size could have been slightly bigger for the Burger and Mince on toast but we will be back next time.

The carrot cake was the best I’ve ever had - fresh, big portion and moist with fresh fruit and nuts. The quiche was so tasty and clean. The French toast was colourful and artistic - not too sweet and tasted like home cooking.

Food here was pretty good. Venison burger was lovely and moist with a beautiful gamey venison flavour. I liked that there weren't too many extra toppings and seasonings to take away from the flavour of the patty. The patty was quite small so a bigger patty would have been great. The lentil and kumara soup was a hearty and warming delicious soup. The only thing holding it back from a 5 star was just a few inconsistencies. The baked goods weren't quite as tasty. The frittata lacked flavour, and the snickers slice didn't have any peanut flavour. Plus, it had a very odd sandy texture that was off-putting. The service could be improved. 2 different waiters brought us a portion of the frittata, and some drinks arrived at the table quite late on in our meal. Our table felt very sticky and probably hadn't been cleaned in a while

Superb cafe, which does as it says on the tin 'small independent cafe with a passion for good food, good coffee and authentic service'. Enjoyed the food on our two visits and rated it as one the best on our travels in the Southern Hemisphere.

Came for breakfast/brunch once, ended up liking it so much we came back another two times! Food very tasty and served promptly, portions huge for their price. Particularly enjoyed the chicken and waffles, French Toast/Pain Perdu, and Lemon Avvy Toast - all delicious and cooked perfectly. Ordered sides were also quite large portions too, felt we got a lot for our money. Would recommend to anyone in the area, especially tourists.

I've been here a number of times over the years and although the ownership has changed hands since, the food and service has always been amazing. Incredibly happy and will always come back. Highly recommend!

Great spot centrally located in downtown Rotorua for a quick eat in or take away. coffee, pastries & , small bites, simple breakfasts & all delicious. Friendly staff to top it off.

The Artisan cafe is one of those cute local eateries that just makes you smile. The homemade granola and maple syrup waffles were both excellent. Lots of complex layers of flavor made each bite a delite. The barista made my dry cappuccino exactly as I asked and it tasted great. The fresh squeezed orange juice was mediocre by American standards but don't let that stop you from visiting this little Rotorua gem.

Food was marginal. Service was not so friendly and ambiance was nonexistent. They'll mop the floor while you're there 15 minutes before closing.

Awesome food. A bit of a walk but extremely worth it. Probably the best breakfast place on the North Island.

Friendly welcoming staff. Great array of counter food that all looked good. Well made coffee. Had a sweet muffin with it - berry and white chocolate. Good size muffin that looked better than it tasted. Nice but could have been cooked a little longer and had more fillings. Would definitely try it again though.

We enjoyed breakfast so much we came back again the next day. Food: All of the food we had was very good. It was freshly made with quality ingredients - Cheese Scone, muffins (can't remember what kind), Eggs Benedict with Portobello, Artisan Sunshine Breakfast. Glad we stopped in for breakfast. They have vegan-gluten free items for our daughter and omnivorous options for us. The pain perdu with a side of bacon hit the spot. You might consider sharing or half portions because the servings were generous.

Another good place for breakfast in NZ. The service is a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry. I ordered the eggs Benedict with salmon it was good but the hollandaise sauce was a bit light for my taste. My wife went with the dish of the day which was creamy mushrooms with fried eggs it was tasty (took a bite). Finally we went with the chocolate waffles for dessert. The waffles were average but the ice cream that came with it was great! If the waffles were a bit crispy it would be perfect.

The coffee, the food, and the hospitality was incredible. So glad we stopped here for our one breakfast in Rotorua. What a gem.

Best breakfast we had in NZ. This is a smallish cafe with a cozy vibe. When we went (off season), we dipped right in and had a delicious meal...so good, in fact, we ate there twice in two days. I would HIGHLY recommend the salmon eggs Benedict or the hash. They both had the most amazing hollandaise sauce. Staff was super pleasant and attentive. Plus, the elder out front playing the guitar and seeing tunes from around the world was a real treat. Love love love this spot!

Pretty busy around lunchtime but quick service. The tea selection could be slightly better but the snacks were great. Recommend for a cold day.

Stopped in for lunch our first day in Rotorua. I had a wrap with feta and pumpkin, hubby had a soup (forget details on that) which he enjoyed. The flat white coffee was perfectly made. I love the decor and the casual vibe. A great sport for a casual meal.

Great food, very fresh ingredients, it was all homemade. I was visiting Rotarua and went there for breakfast and ended up going again for lunch and breakfast the next day. The food was not only really good but the presentation was like art. The people there were super nice and friendly. I wish this place was in Colorado where I live, I would be there lots. They also have wifi and good music. This place is a gem.

I really like the concept of the cafe - All handmade and organic. The place is cosy and the food is delicious. The selection of food and Drinks is really good and Covers a wide range.

Standard prices for NZ brekkie- definitely worth splurging if you're on a budget. I got the eggs benny and they were cooked to perfection. My mom got the omelette and it was the BEST omelette any of us had ever tried. Not to be missed if you're looking for a really cute little spot with amazing food... 10/10 will go back.

In addition to nice-looking pastries and coffee drinks, they have imaginative breakfast and lunch Items. For lunch, we had the Buddha Bowls-made to order, and packed with good salad, quinoa, and roasted vegetables. Nicely spicy. I think it's vegan. Friendly service.

I found just what I was looking for at Artisan. Good coffee, healthy breakfast, great atmosphere and a great location.

The Food was good but the service was terrible. Our group of 8 people were there for brunch. We had to wait for 40 minutes for our coffee and food. Our requests to get at least get our coffee were ignored. On top of this one of our orders didn't come out when the rest of the food came out. At least we didn't have to pay for that order but given the multiple issues that we had this could have been handled much better. Would not recommend this place.

Wow! We were blown away by the great taste at this little restaurant. Alex, the owner from Switzerland (20 yrs ago) has whipped up real magic here. I only wish we had one in San Francisco where we're from. Definite thumbs up
